Hi Ladies,

I have great news to report!! After last week my RE telling me she was having a hard time finding my baby's heartrate, everything looked GREAT today!! The little one had significant growth and it was very easy to see and count. Going strong at 150 BPM!!!!!

What was even better, is that we could see litte arm buds forming!! Can you believe?? They're like little dots on the side. I'll have to see if I can scan it and upload it for you.

The vanishing twin sac is still there it had not grown at all since the last visit. She estimated that the embryo had not survived more than a week. You couldnt see anything inside the sac. It looked like an empty hole. She said that it wouldnt get in the way of the growing baby.

Ok I'll see what I can do about scanning in the pic!!

Havanajims that is GREAT news! Congrats! I didnt know you havd VTS? I have a twin and am wrried about that. When did they tell you there was a twin and how long did it last? Help ME!

Hey Ladies! I finally decided to venture over to the pregnancy boards. I figured it was time since I'm almost 10 weeks along.

Michy - I was completely paranoid about VTS and read way too much about it. I highly encourage you to just avoid all the internet articles about it...it made me so paranoid and for NO reason. In fact, on our way to our 3rd u/s I cried the whole way because I was so scared there would only be 1 baby. Little did I know that I would find out there are 3! Moral of the story...just try to remain positive (I know its hard) and talk with your RE about it at your next visit. Our identical twins are measuring 1 day behind our fraternal and the RE said not to worry about it one bit...he said its completely normal for one to be a different size than another. I know its hard, but hang in there.

Has anyone still been battling m/s? I'm just counting the days until 12 weeks because I'm praying that the nausea and m/s decrease at that point.

Have my first appt. with the high risk OB on June 13th...I'm going crazy waiting. I have so many questions and so many concerns. You would think after all the waiting I would be patient by now, but I'm just not!

Michygirl, Sorry you didnt know about my vanishing twin. It was posted on April Cycle Buddies and also a thread started for my first ultrasound. Last week, my RE had a hard time counting the baby's heartrate because she said it wasnt as clear on the monitor. -So that totally freaked me out, right?? THEN she said, Oh and there is an empty twin sac. All non-chalant. I was like WHAT???? This is the reason I was so hesitant to join the January Due Date Buddies. Anyway, I requested anothe ultrasound for this week and they were able to see my baby much better! The baby had grwon significantly since last week and the heartbeat was very clear. They checked the other sac again and it had not grown or shrunk since last week. She measured it again, and she estimated that the embryo had only survivied a few days. We could not see any remainder of that embryo in the empty sac at all. -And we never could. I think the little one just implanted strongly (because my lining around the sac is still thick) but just didnt survive more than a few days. You are much farther along with your twins than I ever was. I hope that makes sense. I was sad at first, but honestly it never really had anything happen. You'll be fine. you'll see. Our circumstances are very differnt, dont worry.

Havana - I am so glad to hear all the good news. Yeah!! Now you can really start celebrating. Can't wait to see the pic of the u/s and how much bigger the baby has gotten in just a week. So exciting! We're officially on for our lunch date celebration!

Jkris80 - Michy and I were just talking about twin books earlier on the April thread. Do you have any recommendations? I think we're both looking for realistic books that don't just scare the sh*t out of you. This is supposed to be fun! Also, I know with the triplets you have to see a high risk OB. What were you going to do for the twins if you don't mind my asking? I'm trying to decide between an OB that was recommended to me by several people or researching a specialty high risk OB. I was going to discuss the options again with my RE this week at the 8 week u/s.

Michy - It's hard not to keep worrying about the twins. We were so excited to find out we had two but I do worry about losing one. Just a few more weeks and we'll feel better. Unofficially, once you see the heartbeat my RE said my chances of losing one twin went down to 10% at my 6 week u/s. We were really fortunate with a great u/s tech whom used a special screen that showed blood flow on the u/s so we could see the heartbeat on both. I have no idea what the heartbeat number was but I'll ask this time around. If you're looking for something to be nervous about, think about trying to breastfeed two at the same time!

Great question Robin... I know I'm going to ask how often I will go in for visits, when will I have u/s (now that we're addicted), does he/she deliver their patients or it's just whichever ob is on call that night in the practice. That's all I've thought of so far. The vacation schedule is a great question with the Dec/Jan due dates. I've also heard if you have definitive opinions about pain meds for delivery to talk it over and make sure your opinions can coincide. Me - I'm all for the drugs if not just a scheduled c-section with twins!

JustPeachy, you are so funny! I didnt get to hear heartbeats, you think it was because i was only 5 weeks and 3 days? Are you consuming more protein? Is your appetite bigger? Mine is getting smaller,but i am forcing myself to eat more often.

that is SOOO true... i am going for my next one on Wednesday and I can't wait... we actually already have a schedule of what weeks we will have appointments and what will be done... we just need schedule specific days within those weeks...
i also want to know if our regular OB can do 3D/4D pictures or not...

I am trying to eat more protein. Easier some days than others. Yesterday I was starving and eating every 2-3 hours. Today, almost no appetite. I'm sitting here right now thinking I need to eat and nothing in the house appeals to me. Good thing I have dinner plans tonight to go out! I do eat eggs almost everyday for breakfast (which is new for me) and I've been adding in cottage cheese for snacks and then trying to get some good protein (chicken, steak, etc.) with dinner. I usually have my best appetite around 6-7pm so that's when I try to add in protein for sure. It's definitely a day-by-day... but no puking yet for me so I'm not complaining!

Michy - It's always fun to compare stories for me too! I have no sweet tooth either but sour really appeals to me. Oh, and either nuts/trail mix for snacks or red grapes. I had my first almost sick moment yesterday trying to eat a banana which I usually love. So weird!

So weird, so did i. I drank a cup of grape juice, which i love, and got sick from it. I still drank more later and was fine, but i was very suprised to get sick from it. And with all i ate that day, i only threw up the grape juice...sorry for the TMI...lol. But other than that one moment i have not been sick at all, just tired. This water drinking thing is so hard to do! But i read its vital! I am making smoothies in the AM to get the fruit in my diet as well.

No sweet tooth for me either!
