Havana- you are too funny
after having a baby you have to be working at least 4 months before your next one to qualify for maternity leave. One lady in HR has been on mat. Leave for the past 3 years! She just had baby #3Midnight?! What’s that? I haven’t seen the other side of midnight in months! LOL I fall asleep by 10 every night! Serve lots of wine tonight with dinner, that will get them to sleep earlier! ![]()

Cat - Sorry about the delay there... this is the site I rented mine from
Fetal Doppler for Monitoring at Home - BabyBeat I rented model 250A and I love it. I just had my Mom over for lunch and she got to hear the heartbeat. It's amazingly clear and I can even hear when the baby is moving around. The site has regular shipping or you can pay an extra few dollars for overnight or 2 day shipping. You just pay the monthly rate on a month-to-month basis. They send it to you with a prepaid label to ship back whenever you want. No contracts. Do keep your feet up and try to keep your movements to a minimum. Just take it very easy. I too am drolling over all this maternity leave! I have a good friend in audit. She works for an internal division of her company so she was able to go down to a reduced 60% work week. But, she literally has to look at people at 3pm and say I am leaving you don't pay me to stay. Havana - rest up over there! The baby's not into politics anyways! Maybebaby - my Mom just made me look at furniture with her today. She's amazed by all these gadgets we have now. We have exactly opposite taste in bedding but she had so much fun. Off to look at an investment house. Be back in a little while!

Girls, about that maternity leave......just imagine, you live in Czech Republic, and leave work at 8th month pregnancy, stay at home first year for 80% paid (from what you made before), second year stay at home for 70% and 3rd year for 60%..........just imagine.........

Peachy-If I let her, my mom would have already furnished the nursery! The pictures of the cribs she sent me are pretty close to what I want, but we’ll see. I’m pretty sure DH wants some say in this as well!
.Look at these! http://www.babylegs.net/photos.php if these aren’t the cutest little things!

Maybebaby - They're baby leg warmers!! They are adorable. I just saw some at this store today for the first time. It's so the baby doesn't scratch up their legs crawling around. I was so amazed. My poor Mom is baby crazy too. My SIL is very strict with her baby and just told my Mom the other day that the outfit she bought for the baby isn't her color!! So, Mom can't wait to start stocking up on stuff. We saw a onesie today that said "What happens at Grandma's house, stays at Grandma's house". She was so tempted... but neither my brother nor my SIL have a sense of humor
I pick all of the elegant bedding in cute colors with just stripes and pokka dots all over. She picks the safari theme with millions of colors that has a bumper made with a leopard print! But, she did love the stroller I've picked out so middle ground there!

Apparently pastel green is not my neice's color! She's 6 months old and can't do much other than drool. Personally, I think the two of them have just decided if it's not Ralph Lauren, Juicy, or some other fancy name, than it's not their daughter's color. What can I say... some people really do just have to much free time! Between the non-altering baby schedule and fashion sense, it's quite interesting spending time with them. I'm trying to be nice but we had dinner with them Monday night and it was a trip!
My hubby likes the animal themes too. I tried to convince him to paint stripes in the nursery and he looked at me like I fell off the loony wagon. Good thing he works during shopping hours!

peachy, he will find a way. I thought I curbed DH's choices some when we registered- but he would go online at work and just add all sorts of stuff to the registry? Even a basketball hoop! (we didn't end up getting that btw) I had to start checking myself to see what he was upto! And I discreetly removed some of the outfits he chose- not that I care regarding "color"
![]() Havana-- too funny about mil! You have a great excuse to go to bed early (and if you happen to be reading in bed, oh well!) Good luck!

MaggieMay-our shopping diva-Im thinking we all need a check list of new mom's must haves. What do you think? Ooh, Havana - I was just thinking the same thing since some ladies are now starting to be ready to shop (or their mothers are)! I will compile a checklist this weekend -- look for my post! I'm chasing after my sister's three kids ages 7,4 and 6 months on Saturday otherwise I'd do it then! The January Due Date ladies are not to be kept waiting!!! ![]() I was at Pottery Barn Kids today - too much cute stuff! If you have one nearby, it's worth a trip through. Darling, darling things and great place to get ideas too. Cat -- Please let us know when you get back from your u/s. We are all for you. I know everything is going to be okay. Just a few more days until the big amnio. Getting anxious and trying not to be scared!
