Hi guys! I found this forum during my 2ww (the IVF forum, I mean), and have been reading about you every day! Your experiences have been so similar to mine - it was great seeing that everyone was going through the same things I was going through during my 2ww. I thought I would join in now that I am BFP, and anxiously waiting for my first u/s on Oct. 29th (it seems like I have to wait longer than most of you - yuck!).

So, here's my "weird" pregnancy symptom - I feel nauseated every day from about 11am to 2pm. I don't feel like eating lunch - I've been having soup and crackers, but I'm sick of it! I'm not sick at all first thing in the morning, though. Everyone says that's really weird, and they haven't heard of that before. (They say it's either supposed to be just morning, or all day.) I'm hoping someone else has something similar so I don't feel so strange about it!

My other problem - I have a urinary tract infection! The doctor gave me antibiotics, and I'm taking them, but I'm so worried that it's gonna hurt my baby! And, I'm struggling to drink enough water. I used to drink Diet Sprite all the time, but everyone is telling me that I shouldn't consume aspartame during pregnancy, so now I can't seem to consume enough fluids.

Is anyone else really really really tired? Maybe it's b/c I'm up 4 or 5 times a night to pee, but I'm just exhausted at work!

P.S. Laurie - you have the exact same dates as me! But you get your ultrasound 10 days earlier - wish I could have mine that soon!

Dani I think my RE is trying to get a headcount (even though they said if is more than likely 1 / and to make sure all is okay?) I just know my RE said once your BETA doubles we do an ultrasound 7 days later. I actually should have had my 1st like next thursday but I went in for my BETA early due to spotting (which turned out to be implantation).

Dani- i specifically asked my re about tylenol pm and he said it was FINE.

Thanks for the advice Hannah. I can't even begin to imagine how scared you must have been when you discovered you were spotting. I hope it has subsided somewhat at this point and that you're feeling ok.

Jen, I appear to be having the same symptoms as you! I am starving all the time and hunger pangs just hit me out of nowhere.

Brettsbabe, I hope you feel better soon.

Btw Lacy my acupuncturist mentioned that nausea doesn't really set in until the 7th week. I do know what you mean about wanting to have some sort of symptoms just so you can feel preganant.

I have my second beta tomorrow and was wondering when one generally has the first u/s. There appears to be immense variation between each of your cycles. Is 6 weeks the earliest?

Thanks so much for your advice.
Katie

Janeey-you and I have our first U/S on the same day. And sorry, but I have you (and everyone else I think) beat on how long I have to wait for it. My first beta was on 10/5!

I think we're also having similar symptoms-I get a small wave of nausea in the afternoon (usually sometime between 12-2, never in the morning), but mine doesn't last very long. I have found that if I eat a little it goes away, so I have crackers on me at all times.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but try drinking cranberry juice for urinary tract health. I don't know why, but it's supposed to help.

Girls- I have a progesterone question...

My suppositories arrived today with directions that said only to take twice a day.

Do I need to take every 12 hrs, or just morning and night?
Do they need to be refrigerated?
Do I need to lay down for a few minutes after?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Junebug- I am a pro at progesterone supp. I have been on them for over 6 weeks now . They are NOT fun. I don't refrigerate mine. I have to leave them on the bathroom counter to remember to take them. I just hike my leg on the counter in the bathroom and shove them back as far as I can. I found that the apperatus that came with the supp was very painful and I could do a better and less painful job with my finger.(tmi) I do it once I get up in the morning and again after my evening shower/bath. It is very messy. If you and the DH want to mess around do it than go to the progesterone.Too if you wanna mess around I suggest after bath and before progesterone. The capsules have an oily creamy substance in them that is very un-romantic!!! also the capsules will desolve sometime during the day mine at around 10am and you will feel this gross feeling like you are starting your period.... don't worry just wear a panty liner. I don't lay down after and I have never had a problem with them coming out. The more I lay down the more likely the DH is to attack and that just makes for bad as I mentioned earlier.

There it is the long and short of my life on progesterone supp.

I can't believe that nausea doesn't really set in until week 7. here I was thinking that I was doing great with minimal nausea and the worst hasn't even got here yet....uggggg. I am hoping that I will feel like eating sometime soon. I am getting hunger aches and not wanting to eat.. very uncomfortable. Nothing tastes good. Nothing is appealing....

Good luck Sailor on your beta .

wow busy day on here! i heard back about my b/w yesterday and my progesterone is 'perfect' ... mind you, it's perfect WITH me doing a suppository and injection every night! whatever works, i'm happy to do it. oh, and (**knock on wood**) i haven't seen a single spot in about 36 hours. thank GOD.
welcome janeey, i'm glad you found us!

lacy, don't worry about no symptoms ... it's easy to get psyched out because you're hearing everyone talk about all these different ones, but it's completely normal to not have any too. my best friend is 5 mo pregnant, and if it weren't for her huge belly, i don't think she'd know she was pregnant. not even a hint of sore bbs on that one!

katie good luck with your second beta! my RE didn't see me until i was 7 weeks (well, 6 weeks and 6 days). seems to be varied on here - a lot of people have gone much sooner - but Lotus and i really had to wait it out!

rachael ... lol... that was a great description.

Welcome Janeey! It's so good you found us!

I am sooooooo nervous about u/s. Yikes. It's a few days away. I'm kinda thinking I might want to reschedule til I'm 6 wks because all the preggo books I have say that the heart starts to beat at the end of wk 5. I am going to be 5 1/2 wks along for the u/s. Don't know. I'm so conflicted.

Maybe I'll wait til Grits' ultrasound to make a decision.

June, those supp. are greasy and I had to wear a pantyliner with them. I live in a hot/humid place, so I had to refridgerate them otherwise they would break up before i got them in!(tmi) I never got a contraption for insertion, so I used my finger like Rachael. I hope it goes well.

Rachael, I'm so jealous you're husband is still attacking you. Mine is so ultra conservative, he thinks he'll hurt the baby. too funny.

I'm feeling the need to go in for another drip...

I'm still not feeling nauseous(not to be sick anyway), but more of a queasiness. I do get pangs of hunger, but I don't have anything around the house that I want to attack. But i did wolf down a rib eye last night! I just hadn't eaten very much during the day and I guess I was hungry.

Happy preggo days for everyone! I'm so happy to on the next chapter of my book. 5-8 wks!

Janeey and glad you decided to join in!

Now that you mention it, my queasiness, although slight, seems to happen about the same as yours, between 12 and 2pm. Today I was on an airplane for a business trip and of course that's when it kicked in!
My mouth really started watering and I couldn't WAIT for the the flight attentdant to get to my aisle with my pretzels and ginger ale! Once I was able to nibble on the pretzels I was much better. I read on another site that mouth watering is considered an early sign of pregnancy and that's why you have always heard to eat saltines, or some other sort of dry salty cracker. It was just a small bag, but hey it worked!

lol jen you had a lot of things! i miss all those too ... especially the great feeling you get when you have your morning mocha/latte.

dani ... i know, it is really hard not working out. i keep telling myself i'll just be that much more motivated to take the baby out in a jogging stroller and get back into shape in 8 months. are you doing anything or completely abstaining?

Ok, I am insane.

Hannah went to her ultrasound 2 hrs early...I go to mine 3 days early!!! haha. life is too strange.

no, I really didn't intend on getting an ultrasound at all. just felt like I might have some ohss fluid build up and wanted to get a drip, but doc wanted to see the fluid, so she does the ultrasound.

She counted one little bean. She said there could be another that could pop up later(she saw something else), but I'm not holding my breath on that. I'm so happy about my one little bean.

About what I miss??? I think I count the whole IF journey when I'm thinking of what I miss. I miss my old body. I'm 45 lbs over my normal weight right now and that's before any preggo weight gain. So, I'm going to be super excited to get going on losing this weight. I couldn't lose any before because of the insulin resistance. It just made it impossible, so I decided not to push it.

I wanted to post-pone my original u/s to next week, but doc wants to see me and dh anyway. I really want to know if there is a heartbeat.

Ok, in the pic, you'll see the sac and in the sac, there is a white line. That white line is my baby!
