Junebug yes I agree about the wine in the hot bath! Oh it has been so long ... hehe
brettsbabe how far along were you when you had your 1st ultrasound? Katie what a wonderful high beta!!! Congratulations! Lotus I just love that quote ... so perfect! janeey I worry I am not doing enough .... hehe My Dh too already has a name he wants if is a boy ... Ryan - that is his twin brother's name. His brother would be so honored! He said if it a girl he would like to name her Kaitlyn, but i would want to name her Allison (after my grandmother). Wow - that is a long way away ... hehe

Lacy - I guess we will probably just worry either way! And I love the name Kaitlyn, but I can see why you would want to name a girl after your grandmother. If we have a girl, her middle name will be River, after my Grandmother's maiden name (I just made my av a pic of my grandma when she was young).
Congrats on a wonderful second beta, Katie! Sounds like twins to me! Okay, I think you guys have got me more sure of the name Aisling now.

lacy i was just barely 5 weeks along for the first ultrasound, and that's why he said he could only see the sacs, not the embryo yet...though it wasn't my normal RE and i know that my normal RE would have been nicer about it...
he did, to his credit, come back and say if you are carrying multiples, they develop slower than a singleton, so that could also be why we couldn't see them yet. now i am more nervous about this second ultrasound than anything! i just want everything in there to be nice and healthy... ![]()

I read that you should not excercise to the point of exertion. The example given was if you exercised prior to pregnancy at a 10 given scale of 1-10 with 1 being just sitting down, you can safely go at a 3 - 5. But if you are new to working out, do not go above a 3. Also read not to lift over 25 lbs. or not to lift anything that makes you hold your breath. Boarding Plane...gotta run!! Oh, I mean walk! Oh, yeah, I have done some light walking (30 min or so) Last night I tried a few lunges/pushups, leg lifts, that sort of thing. Just kinda playing around with it...

Thanks Dani.
Congrats June on your 3rd beta. You are so lucky you had one. My RE doesn't want to see me for 8 days when I will have my first u/s. Seems like an eternity away! When is your first u/s? It seems to vary so much between clinics. Janeey, that is so cool that you are "almost" sure on the chose name for a little girl...I'm so impressed! Katie |

Woah, so many topics: Irish names, suppositories, and lots of coffee talk!
Friday is going to be a big day! Can't wait for everyone to share. Janeey, I have to say that I couldn't live without sushi. I don't take too much of the raw stuff, though. I was really good for my 2 FETs. When the nurse said don't have spicy food and don't do this and don't do that. I followed every instruction to the letter. Now, I just want to be a little more comfortable. I can't live without spicy food. So, I had loads this time during 2ww. I don't think it was such a bad thing. I finally had to stop eating my 5 eggs whites a day. I just couldn't look at another egg. I went out and bought some protein powder shakes and I enjoyed one last night. I hope I can continue with those. Ok, so get this. My SIL has been going through IVF, too, and we've been close because of it. I sent out the pic of my little bean in an email explaining that there was one and she replies back with a question about how many. That's it. no congrats, nothing. She just wanted to know how many. I think it's because if I had twins, she wouldn't like it. She's currently 12 wks preggo with twins. Do you think I'm exagerating this? |

When is everyone planning on telling others you are pregnant? My DH has says at 12 weeks (about 12/05/07) and I say at Thanksgiving ...
Also I have posted a pic of the newborn outfit I got for my DH to give to as the way of telling him I was pregnant ... Plus I have posted a really neat website for your pregnancy journal (good for friends and family I have living away - once I tell them of course! hehe). PREGNANCY BLOG: Free Pregnancy Journal.

hey girls! i finally have a chance to post today ...
laurie, congrats on your u/s! i love that just yesterday you were suggesting maybe putting it off a few days and going late. lol. you are soooo like me. i know, i know it wasn't planned. i'm so glad you went - the first one is the hardest i think because you don't know what to expect!lisa, my spotting stopped yes ... none since monday a.m. (**knock on wood**). is yours gone as well? christy, that's really funny you said that about loving the smell of coffee right now. i normally LOVE coffee but now ... the smell makes me gag. yesterday i was next to this guy in a meeting and every time he sipped his coffee i could smell it and had to cover my mouth. there are some really tasty decaf coffees out there that you could try! janeey, i'm also doing suppositories and shots. as of my bloodwork yesterday, my progesterone levels were 'perfect'... so i guess i need both! i was worried about taking too much as well, but you'll probably have bloodwork done soon enough to check it. i've heard that too much isn't a bad thing. katie what an amazing beta! congrats! lacy that onesie (sp?) is darling! i am also thinking of thanksgiving as a time to tell people. i've already told immediate family and close friends ... but i think the general population will be at least after i finish 1st trimester. ok i hope i didn't miss anyone's news ... there were a lot of new posts on here today. i am so happy to be starting my EIGHTH week today. ![]()

Leigh, I am so glad you saw your pumpkin! I am sorry for the empty sac. I know we were dissappointed too we only saw one sac yesterday....even DH was which surprised me. But I am soooo happy to see one!
My next u/s will be next week sometime. I am guessing Wed. again.Martie I am sorry your Dh is not going with you. My DH does not go to see, he is so worried I would fall apart if it did not go how I wanted he wants to be there to hold me up. He is so sweet...Really I would survive, but I love how he wants to take care of me now. It was not always this way, so I am really loving it. Katie, Great betas!!! As far as exercise. I was told pretty much the same thing as you. As far as I know 5.5 weeks is about the earliest. Mine was at 5wks 2days and all we could see was a sac (at least that was there!) and nothing else. That is neat that your DH is Hooked! I hope your headache is better. Lisa, What time is your u/s today? ![]() Laurie, I am glad your DH is home as I am sure you are! Is that your u/s pic? I love that you see a sac already. I cannot believe you bought baby clothes already! lol I am too chicken. I would not worry about the weight Laurie, so much of yours is fluid, probably all of it! After my ds was born I lost 30 by the next week! I had a lot of fluid!Sarah,, I know it sucks to be sick and pg. I still remember when I got sick while pg before and was bummed that is all you can take. I hope you are feeling better. Lacy I am with you.... I will not buy anything until way after a good strong hb is heard. I would not worry about the lack of symptoms. I would enjopy it! I cannot wait for your u/s tomorrow! ![]() Janeey, I would not worry about the antibiotics. Dr would not give them if they were harmful. An infection could be more harmful. I think most of us are experiencing the tired symptom. I am getting up several times a night already too. Get used to it, it only gets worse! lol ANd you will see way more at your u/s than us and feel good about it. I on the other hand am still worrying......As for names Aislynn was a name I had picked out, but my DH isn't crazy about it.... We are thinking Mabel for a girl. I love the name Liam, but we are not sure about anything. I guess we are scared to invest to much emotionally until we feel more confident. But I kinda like Elias for a boy. Hannah, i am so glad you are not spotting anymore. That is so scary. Monday I bled a good bit of red blood and was terrified! My nurse thinks I had twins and lost one on mon...... But I was soooo very happy to see a sac wed!! And I have had no more bleeding since tues. morning. I was REALLY glad my u/s was scheduled otherwise I would still be going nuts!Hannah, I would kill for a hot bubble bath and a good red wine! I have managed to find somethings I want to eat, but it is weird b/c it is things I would never eat before. The other evening I ate Easy mac and cheese. I never east crap like that! But it was soooo good! lolSo Dani I have to ask about the flying....Did anyone give you crap about it? I am flying with my dd in two weeks, and some people in my family are convinced I will lose the baby. In fact they have been so bold as to say they think I lost my last baby b/c of it! I know better, things were not right from the beginning...bad #s, low heart rate....... Oh I miss working out too! I have been too scared to do anything! I am definitely MUSHY! But I do not care, I will get it back when my baby is in my arms.... ![]() Jen, you are funny, but I get it. I would rather nap too! and I miss that caffiene buzz too! Lotus, I LOVE that quote, and it is so true! WOW, I am finally caught up! ![]()

thanks grits! i posted congrats on your other thread- but congrats again on a good ultrasound! getting the first one out of the way feels great. i know it was probably really sad to see an empty sac ... i can't even imagine. but thank God you've got a healthy one. i was really freaked when i had the spotting and am SO grateful it's gone. i'm glad yours is too. no more spotting for the next 8 months for either of us!
sounds like we ALL wish we could have a bubble bath and glass of wine! and some exercise. i live on the beach and walking on the sand is good exercise ... i'm going to ask my RE next week how far he thinks is 'light walking' or whatever he told me. i definitely would rather get soft than cause any harm - but if it's ok for me to get a little bit of aerobic, i'm all over it. i was also really curious about the flying thing ... i think i'm staying put for thanksgiving but really want to fly for christmas. what have you guys heard about this? oh ... another question - if we are supposed to be staying out of the bath because it's bad to raise your body temp, does the same apply to sitting outside in the sun? ok girls, here's to another healthy day of pregnancy for all of us! ![]()

I posted my US results on the other thread; we are so happy, I have been on cloud 9 all day!
Hannah, glad the spotting stopped-mine did too. RE said normal for IVF girls to get light spotting due to effects meds have on the uterus. I miss my wine the most (and Corona). My RE gave me a 3 page list put together by the nurses of tips, what to eat, safe meds, etc. All can be done except spicy----I love my salsa and as long as baby allows me to eat it, I will endulge once in a while, just sticking to the mild versions. My DH made dinner the other day, with a candle and two wine glasses-------his had wine, mine had apple juice. LOL! RE also said keep the activity light, especially since I had spotting, no hanky panky (plus I can't because I have cysts on my ovaries) and nothing too exerting. So, I agree, I am giving up my usual high energy style to anything that will not cause any potential regrets. Lacy, good luck tomorrow and report back ASAP!

Congratulations again on your ultrasound little mama!!!
Wow what a sweet DH you have. My DH cooks for me once in awhile hamburgers. He tells me knows how to cook, but I wont let him. HA - I never stopped him! hehe Yum Corona with a lime ... ;o) So today I had a very stressful day and I when I came home I went to the bathroom and I swear there was the SMALLEST amount of brown discharge (sorry if TMI). I do the prometrium "inserts" and thought maybe it was just from them, but scared me at first. uugggg - I fear I will be like this until I am over 24 weeks ("viable" pregnancy time). I know I will chill out soon. So lisa on your list it said nothing spicy to eat? I am cajun that will be almost impossible!!!! hehe
