June, your pic is really sweet. I was totally confused on who was the bride because you were so 'overdressed' for that wedding!

Erin, all I can say is that you shouldn't think that IL's will ever take your side over their own family. Remember, blood is thicker than water! I'm always careful about what I say to my ILs. Have to keep my inner comments for my own family.

Lisa, i'm so sorry about your reflux. it sounds so scary. Glad DH was with you to help you out.

I had an eventful weekend. I went to a friend's bbq bday dinner on sat night. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sat down the whole time. his wife and I got pregnant the same week. She's having a girl. We had a great time. Then, we went home and I felt like I had indigestion and gas. I just thought it was the bbq food.

The gas didn't go away, but I went to bed anyway. The trapped gas feeling just kept getting worse and worse. It was primarily on my right side. Then, pain was added to the mix. I started to feel something like strong menstrual cramps and I woke my DH up at 3am. He suggested we get to the hospital.

So we went and headed straight up to the maternity floor and they put us into one of the labor and delivery suites. I was hooked up to the heartbeat/uterus activity machines and they confirmed that I was having contractions. They faxed that info to my OB and she prescribed some meds via IV for me to stop the contractions. It took about 15 hrs all together to stop all uterine activity. But it didn't take too long before the painful contractions were stopped.

I'm glad we didn't have to give birth and I didn't start to dilate at all.

I stayed in hospital until Tuesday lunch time before my OB would let me go home. She feared that I would have a relapse. She gave me the steroid injections that mature the babies' lungs while there just in case.

I'm feeling very tired and there is much more pressure at the base of my uterus than previously.

I only have about 5 wks to go, and hopefully we can make it.

Laurie- Glad they got your contractions to stop. But, sorry you were in the hopsital. Hopefully, you can hang on for atleast a few more weeks. It is getting soooo close!!

All- I have had the reflux thing before a few times. I knew all to well what it was as I work with patients everyday who have this. It is much more serious than plain-old heartburn. That is because if the stomach contents and acid actually go into your airway it can cause something called aspiration penumonitis- which is essentially the same as pneumonia. So, be really careful about not eating too much at night. The gastroenterology docs that I work with all say to make dinner your smallest meal of the day as an over-inflated stomach is the biggest culprit, and don't eat for 4 hours before lying down. OK, enough of the public service announcement for now

I am actually staying home "sick" from work today. Woke up with alot of pelvic, lower back, and hip pain. I think the baby is trying to turn around or go lower or something, Anyway, could bring myself to take the hour-long train ride into the city or walk all around the hospital today. So, it's the recliner and Regis and Kelly for me today. I have u/s, OB appt tomorrow, so I'll update then.

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Lisa-Sorry about your acid/reflux episode. At least your DH was there to comfort you back to sleep.
I’m also glad you had a good shower. People really surprise us with their generosity. I can’t wait for the pics.

Katie-I’m planning on working until my water breaks. The reason is that I want to spend as much time with my child (for breastfeeding/bonding purposes), and I can only take 6 weeks off if is a natural delivery or 8 weeks off if it is a c-section.
The ½ work days sounds like a plan. If you don’t feel with a lot of energy due to the anemia, maybe it is your body trying to tell you something.

Laurie-sorry you had to go to the hospital. The good thing is that they were able to stop the contractions and hopefully your babies can stay in there a little bit longer.

Kris, June-It seems like it is pretty normal not to feel good lately. We are really so close, and I guess it just comes with the territory.

Erin-happy belated b-day.

To all other june ladies…Have a Great Day!

Laurie - I am so happy that you are doing better! Those girls sure have been testing you, I can't wait to see what kind of fits they will be giving you as teenagers .

Thank you all for the b-day wishes and support with IL issues. My SIL is really good at creating something out of nothing, I don't think she always has the right balance of meds. I never said anything bad or negative about my MIL she just likes to cause drama. In 2006 DH and parents didn't talk for 6 months because SIL decided she didn't like DH's attitude and decided to stir the pot. I think she is feeling some jealousy. She had her 1 and only child at 18 so her daughter has been the only grandchild for 17 years.

I'm so lucky that I don't have to really work, and when I do it is mostly from home. I have only had to go to the office one day in the past 3 weeks and that was only for about 2 hours to meet an insurance adjuster. I wish you all luck in your work plans, I can't believe how close we are getting. I think I may have lost my mucous plug last night, I have been a researching fiend this morning trying to figure it out. I am reassured by the fact that you can lose it and not go into labor for weeks. Thank goodness! These guys need to cook a few more weeks.

Everyone have a great day and take good care of yourselves.

Erin, I took this picture Yesterday morning! I am SO ready for warmer weather!!! Why do you think you lost your plug? Was it big? I remember losing mine well! It is super nasty!

Katie, I am lucky enough to stay at home already....

Lisa, Ick! You know I have been eating a pecid complete every morning and Night, and my heartburn and stuff is hardly noticeable now. My Dr. said they were fine and I looked tham up. I do not eat past 7 either......But the pepcid really made all the difference. How nice your shower went well.....

Laurie, I am glad everything is under control and the babies get to hang out a while longer! I would stay in bed as much as you can stand if i were you.

June , I appreciate your public service announcement! Enjoy your day of rest!

Laurie- sorry to hear about the scare! Luckily it turned out to be ok!

Well, I am officially tired and achey all of the time! Well at least at work. I probably will work up until I just can't bear to be on my feet for 12hrs any longer. I know Dh and I discussed taking some time off before the due date just to have the last few days of just him and I too cherish!

Acid reflux has been a constant issue with my pregnancy... I have woken up to coughing fits which turn into me getting sick, it doesnt matter what time I stop eating, how little I eat, how many tums I take or pepcid.... I have just learned to live with it... only 9 more weeks and Sienna will be here!! I am so excited for all of us!! I can't believe how fast time has flown by!!! I do sleep sitting up though and have been doing that for about 2 months now off and on.... can't wait to have this baby so I can sleep laying down!! lol

I hope everyone is doing great, I am pretty bad about sending personal messages... so I apologize in advance.

Docshoney- happy bday and sorry that your SIL is putting you through unwanted stress.... I think you might be right though about the jealousy issue though.... some people just love drama... which normally means they arent happy or fufilled in their own lives and have to start up drama for attention.

Miranda- love the family pics.

We are moving this weekend so by my next post I should have the nursery completed and will post pics! Can't wait to get into our new home... We have picked her name finally it is Sienna the middle name will either be Noelle, Kiley, Madison, Nicole... still up in the air on that one!

I hope everyone is having a great week despite the joys of pregnancy!! I pee when I sneeze, my back and hips ache, acid reflux, and I wake up frequently to pee or change postitions but I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world, we are all so blessed that we finally all get to experience pregnancy and the joys of having a child, when ( at least for me) we thought or were told it might never happen....!!!

Have a great day ladies!!!

Grits - It was this huge yellow glob of yucky stuff. There wasn't any blood in it so I wasn't too sure, but doing some reasearch I found out that you can lose it really early and have no blood in it and be just fine for weeks. In general don't have any discharge and when I wiped last night I was like "what the heck is this nastiness?" I will call my OB this morning to see if that is what it was or if I am completely off base. I also have a appt. Thursday with OB so I'm sure she will be able to tell me one way or another. I'm with you on the pepcid that is what I am taking and it really helps, I also don't eat after 7 and don't drink after 8. I hope you get some warmer weather, we havn't had anymore snow, but it had hailed everyday!

Laurie your story had me so worried for you ... I am SO happy to hear all turned out okay girl! That must have been so scary.

I personally feel just okay during the day, but at night I feel horrible! I am starting to hate going to bed at night because I know i will wake up all night to pee, pain in hips and lower belly, horrible hearburn, hands falling asleep, & baby movement. I was on the couch last night watching TV from 2am - 5am --- then finally started to feel better and got back into bed. uuuggg -

Ladies --- I heard something interesting on TV - the reason our bodies have so many yucky symtoms towards the end of pregnancy is because that way why we go into labor we will welcome it with open arms just to get all the yuckys to be gone! If we felt wonderful right up to the end, we would never wanna go through with labor! hehe

We had our breastfeeding class this weekend! WOW - I loved it! I feel SO much better and I am planning on returning all my Bisphenol-A bottles (I had the Avent bottles) and getting the born free bottles. Breast feeding instructor said born free have good nipples to help avoid nipple confusion for women breastfeeding and bottle feeding. We also plan on renting a hospital grade pump at hospital.

This weekend we have our "Life with Baby" class (which I think will be fun) and then another shower.

Good Grief, I was off since Friday and it took me forever to read and catch up!
Had the appt with the diatician today and got the gluclose meter, tested 2 times in the normal range now so that is good, my blood sugar is good in the am before i eat, then they gave me the 6 times a day they want me to eat and I freaked out! 6 times a day? plus water, I will be eating all the time!

I was getting really dizzy and the Dr told me Jason was starting to drop and may be on a nerve so to spend lots of time on my left side.
Ok stupid comment/question here. Mucas plug? explain please? what is it, what does it do when does it fall out, what what what. being new at this and not one to talk to my girlfriends about things like that I am clueless and with changing Dr's half way through this process I am sure I lost some info along the way that one Dr thought the other was going to or already did tell me. So please someone spill it I can imagine going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and loosing something, I would wake up every house on the block with panic!
Oh my mother and father had a stupid moment, they were on line booking their travel and got the dates mixed up. They thought they were coming in 2 days before the baby and they booked their flight for June 24th to land at 9:30 well my c-section is June 24th at 8 am so we are waititng to hear back from the Dr on Monday to see if we can move it to June 25th or even later in the day on June 24th............. I want my mother here for it!
I think mother got some of my pregnancy brain! :-)
hope all is well, and hey Grits, how did you do on your glucose test? I hope you passed with flying colors!

Your mucus plug is what seals your cervix while your pregnant. It can come out a month or hours before you start labor. Also, it can come out all at once or slowly over a period of time. Some women don't notice it at all (my mom didn't).

Katie - thanks for updating meredith. I too found in my research that you can lose it months before going into labor and since I am stuborn I am going to make it until my c-section w/ or w/o mucous plug.

I called OB this morning they just want me to watch out for any labor signs. I feel fine though, I'm am going to lay low until my OB appt. Thursday just to make sure that everything is still long and closed. I figured since there was no blood and hasn't been any I'm doing okay. The only reason I noticed was because it was all at once and there wasn't any discharge before or after.

My internet issues are fixed!!!! I got a new wireless USB card.

Things are still the same. Driving me nuts because my Dr. will not give me an indication as to when I will have these babies. I realize that time is important but I need something to look forward to. I am M I S E R A B L E!! My BP got up last night and they scared the heck out of me. They hooked up the monitors in my room and took blood and urine. I stayed on there for an hour. Then, a nurse came in and wheeled my to L & D where I spent an additional two hours hooked up and did another PIH panel with blood/ urine. They stuck me and took blood 3 times yesterday. GRRRR!!! I want it to be over. I was absolutely exhausted by the time they brought me back to my room at 1 am this morning. I have been here for 9 days. I'm borderline psycho. I am SOOOOOOOOO ready for this to be over. Please keep us in your prayers.

Christy - I am so sorry you are going through this and you are very much in my thoughts. I can't imagine how tired and frusterated you must be feeling with all the hurry up and wait you have going on. I am sure you aren't getting any rest and that can't be helpful to your emotional or hormonal state . I hope that they give you some answers soon so to be cliche you can see the light at the end of tunnel. Good luck and I hope you have a better night.
