Hm. I think I need to be giving Audrey more table foods. She is still on mostly baby food. The biggest problem is that I'm a wimp and at the first sign that she doesn't like something, I immediately take it away and give her baby food, which I know she likes and can eat. I probably need to work on that a little more! Thanks for all the ideas for foods to try with her!!
Erin-hope you remain healthy and that the fam starts feeling better soon. Amber-I'm glad you didn't say anything to your friend too. Now you can be an ear for her without her wondering if she can open up to you. She may have lost that connection with her sister. Kris-Audrey still gets about 3 bottles a day, but mostly in the evening. I'm not sure how it ended up that way, but she gets a bottle at 4:00 and then again when she goes to bed, then maybe one more if she wakes up in the night. (Put your pitchforks and torches down-I know I'm not supposed to feed her in the night, but it's a hard habit to break. ) Well, the job hunt has stalled a bit. I called the attorney yesterday and today, but haven't been able to get ahold of him and he hasn't called me back. He is going to be out of town tomorrow and Friday, so if I don't hear from him today, then I won't have a chance to talk to him again till next week. I'm not sure what is going on because he sounded really interested in his initial voicemail message that he left me. I think on Monday I'm going to start sending resumes out to other places. It's been nice not having a job, but at the same time I feel out of sorts not having anything to do during the day. My mom and dad (both retired) dote on Audrey, so I end up sitting around, trying to think of ways to make myself useful. Oh well-when I do get a job I'll miss these days of leisure!

amber you're such a good friend - she's lucky to have you. reading about that just breaks my heart. i've heard autism described that way - like a light went out - and i can't even fathom what it would feel like as a parent to witness that kind of a change in your child. let us know what the ped says.
katie, i say enjoy your days of leisure!! either that or fly over to my house and i'll find pleeeeeenty of things for you to do that will make you feel quite useful. we'll start with the laundry. then maybe some scrubbing. ok fine, maybe i'm a little jealous ... erin that sounds exhausting. i hope everyone feels better soon. it sounds like i'm giving simon WAY more bottles than you girls. guess i need to step it up with real food ... miranda you give them oranges? for some reason i thought we couldn't ... that's great because i want simon to eat vitamin c foods to help with all these colds. that's so sweet they are trying to walk! sweet, i know - a lot of work for you. ![]()

Kris mine eat a orange at almost every meal LOL They LOVE them. I just make sure I wash them soon after they finish so the acids will not give them a rash....same with tomatoes. My babies drink 22 oz of whole milk a day all by bottle. One 10 oz before bed, a 6oz before morning nap and a 6 oz before afternoon nap.

Kris- Sienna takes 8oz formula from cup in Am, then 4-6oz at breakfast, 4-6oz with lunch, 4-6oz with a snack, 2-4oz with dinner, and 6-8oz in cup before bed.. so that is anywhere between 28-36oz a day. No oranges here, it gives Sienna a rash, she can have some tomato sauces but very little, or she gets a bad booty rash

Okay-finally got my laptop up and running, so I can post some pictures from the parade on Saturday and one from today at the horse barn. (My parents help out with an organization that uses horses for therapy for kids with disabilities.)
1. Snacking on a Mum Mum before heading out to the parade. 2. At the parade. 3. About 30 mintues into the parade. 4. At the horse barn.

Katie-Cute pics! Love the hair bow
Does any of you have problems buckling your babies up in the car seat? Desi protests and refuses to sit. She actually stands on the seat and arches her back. You know there is no compromise on this one. She has to be safe so I have to bend her legs to make her sit. Let me know. On a brighter note, Desi waved her daddy bye, but not only that. I told her to say "Bye papi" and she said "bye pah" at the same time that she was waving good bye. I think this time she really meant what she said.

Daysi
yea to Desi for waving and talking!!! All our babies are growing so fast!!!My two fight the car seats also. I try to bring along a toy or two and that helps...Each of mine have a favorite stuffed toy so on the longer drives I bring them along.

katie, she is darling!
simon doesn't fight the carseat much - it's wiping his nose that he really hates ... he will freak out and start sobbing. since we've been talking about different food ideas for the babies ... i've been trying to find different ways to incorporate protein into simon's diet and i'm not a big meat person. i've been giving him my boca burgers (just a meatless "burger"), crumbled up in his food and he loves them! they have a pretty mild flavor and are really healthy. just an idea if any of you were looking for ways to transition to meat but not quite ready to bust out the chicken or steak yet. ![]() miranda, so happy about the oranges!

Kris- Sienna LOVES boca burgers!! And absolutely HATES when I try to clean her face or clean out her nose...
So we went to the ped.. The Ped pretty much gave the diagnosis of Autism- but also said there is further testing that needs to be done, so nothing is set in stone, my ped recomended a doctor for a second opinion and further testing so we have an appt with them next week, it's several different types of tests that they do, basically hearing/and observing Aiden's behavior in a play room alone then with kids... Kathy is devasted, She cried, i cried with her, it's just heart breaking... so we will see what happens next week... With that said, I hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend! Can you believe in a couple of months are kiddos will be ONE! Katie- The pics are gorgeous, Audrey is beautiful! |

Amber-I'm so sorry about Aiden dx, and my heart goes out to your friend. Many
. Kris-Desi also hates when I try to clean her face & nose. Sometimes she lets me do the saline drops and other times she fights me.
