amy, do you own seasons 1-3 of greys? i do ... and i have to say that they have gotten me through some rough times in the last year. for some reason i can turn on that show and tune everything else out. great escapism. the cramping you were mentioning ... definitely could be from that. i have had some bad cramping from various digestion related issues and sometimes it has been so painful it wakes me up in the middle of the night! i think you're fine. it's hard because every pain is scary during pregnancy - but when you think about it, all of our organs are shifting around down there to make room for this growing uterus. i have been reminding myself of this lately because i'm getting pain down in my uterus area - but i know that week 12 is week the uterus starts to move above the pubic bone, so it makes sense it would hurt. wow, who put a quarter in me this morning!
amber, that is so funny what your husband said about the vibrator/condom... i mean the thing really is pervy looking isn't it. i guess we just get so used to it after having them constantly! ![]()

Hello
ladies. Hope you're doing fine. I haven't checked in for a few days - glad to know things are going well.- Lacy and Miranda, sorry gals that you have to take those injections. But it's good to know that your little ones are doing well. -Hannah, congs on beginning the 2nd Tri and congs on pulling that fast one! I love that picture. That baby is sure sticking the tongue out at mommie! -Deepa - don't worry about the symptoms - they come and go. I guess you're one of those lucky ones who go thru' their 9 months without much of a hitch. I know my bb's are sore every now and then, but it's not as much as it used to be. I get a little feverish esp in the evenings, but no m/s. Also my tummy gets full in the evenings and I really look prego when it happens! So I must forget about real big dinners for now. -Laurie, hope you're feeling better. Speaking of asking your RE about BDing - we tried hunky punkying with (sorry TMI) his fingures, and the next day I got some dark brown spotting. Needless to say, we vowed not to do it again till after wk 12! -MustLoveDogs, am glad you decided not to do your dental work till after your pregnancy. I hear it's not really advisable during pregnancy - esp during the 1st Tri. -Katie, Amber, congs on graduating to OB. I can't wait to get to that point. Amber, your RE is sooo coool giving you those gifts! I especially love the picture frame! This weekend, I involuntarily had to tell my brother and SIL the good news. They came briefly to visit and to pick their kids who were staying with us for a few days. Then my 5 year old DD came bouncing on me, sayin - mummy you have a fat stomach!! My SIL laughed so loudly and said - are you sure you're quite alone! I couldn't help myself, so I told them - and when they learnt it was twins, they almost fainted with surprise! There's more - my SIL is also pregnant! She's a little under 6 weeks but will confirm some time. It felt so nice that our babies will enjoy each others' company just like our 5 year olds are doing! O.k - that's enough news - i gotta run. Wish you all June gals a blissful pregnant Sunday.

niki, that is so neat about you and your SIL being pregnant together! how fun. and i love that your dd called you out on having a big tummy. kids just speak their minds don't they. yeah ... i think the risk of spotting with any hanky-panky is high in first trimester, and for peace of mind try to hold out until 12 weeks. glad to hear you are doing well otherwise!
jen, i believe the baby is about 2.5 inches at 12 weeks. pretty wild isn't it, considering they were the size of a grain of rice not too long ago. ![]() i have just had the nastiest cold for the last week and am so afraid all this coughing is going to hurt my baby. i mean i'm coughing so hard that my stomach muscles have become sore. do you guys think i'm rattling the baby??? i really don't want to take any kind of cough suppresant if i can avoid it ... but will if this hacking is worse than the syrup. ok who is getting ultrasounds this week? i think there are a couple at least ...

Ok, so I was being paranoid, but I guess we all get that way before our u/s/check ups. Everything is just great. DH and I got to see both babies and they look like babies now. arms, legs, head, AND they were dancing for us. I mean really going and going. like they were doing Bangra!(deepa, i know you'll get what I mean)
It was so great to listen to the heartbeats again. They are noticeably stronger than last time. I am really happy. We have our next one in a few weeks on the 10th of Dec. I'm going in for the nuchal test. It's the first one and I have no probs with it. It's just a measurement of the back of the neck to see if there's any chance of down syndrome. I know one of you were not too keen on this test, I can't remember who it was. I explained to my doctor that I'm struggling to take all the prescriptions she's given me at the moment. She went ahead and took me off the progesterone since the twins' placentas are formed. I just have to take my metformin and the vitB+folic acid tabs. I will try to take more if I can, but it's really hard to take even one little pill sometimes. I hope all my June buddies are feeling all right and that you all are not feeling too sick. Hannah, I don't want to scare you, but I have heard of someone losing their baby(3 or 4 months gestation) by having violent coughing. Maybe it really wasn't the cause, but please call your doctor and get a prescription to ease the coughing just in case. Ok, ladies, getting a sleepy...take care. |

Hannah- Your baby is definitely sticking his or her tongue out. Cute! Have you tried honey and lemon for your cough? Somehow it soothes my symptoms when I have a cold.
Lotus-Good to hear everything went well with OB. I, like you, also had a pap smear on my first OB appt, but thank God that DH was not there. He would have died of embarrassment. Dipscool. Do not worry too much about the no symptom deal. Mine started to subside around the 10th week of my pregnancy. Jen- about your NT question, I think my next appt with High Risk OB is to test my blood and have an ultrasound to measure the possibility having a baby with genetic defects. This being said, I do not want further testing done to me on this subject. We’ll see what this HR OB has to say to me and my husband next week… Amber-Congratulations on your U/S and graduation to OB. What a cool RE you had! Niki-It is wonderful that your SIL and you are pregnant at the same time. Your family must be thrilled. Sarah and Laurie-Your babies are beautiful! You were blessed twice. Congrats! Miranda-I hope everything goes well with your U/S tomorrow. All other June ladies-Have a Great Pregnancy Day! I took my flu shot Friday with no complications at all…just a sore arm. Also, my baby was officially 12 weeks yesterday. I do have this sense of relief and I thank God for this miracle. I still am a little concern until the next u/s though…especially now that I do not have that many symptoms.

Hi ladies
I've not checked in since Fri and so much has happened. Hannah your u/s pics are amazing. I definitely think s/he is sticking out her/his tongue :-) so adorable. So sorry to hear you're not well. Hope your cough gets better soon. Laurie, I love yuor u/s pics. They look so cute. It's amazing how fast they grow don't you think? Congrats on coming off the prog. One less thing to have to worry about! Hope you feel better soon. So glad your DH was home to go for the u/s with you. IT's such a relief when you hear the HBs so much stronger than the previous time don't you think? Miranda, how are you feeling these days? Still got m/s and tired? Good luck with your u/s tomorrow. Can't wait to hear how it goes. Deepa, are you still getting off lightly with pregnancy or rather lack of symptoms? I have to say that apart from extreme fatigue and fragile bbs I'm feeling great. I think the beginning if the week is easier than the last part of the week...by which time I am shattered. Finally gave in and bought a bella band yesterday...not sure I like the sensation all too much. Any tips on how you are wearing them> I am assuming you role them down but it feels kind of strange. I also went clothes shopping with my DH and got so moodie and upset as I really couldn't see anything cute or appealing to buy. I always assumed one could look great during pregnancy but none of the stores (all high end) I checked out had anythign appealing. Maybe I was jsut having a bad day. Brettsbabe, your pics are great. Congrats. Hope you feel better soon. Niki How exciting that you and your SIL are pregnant at the same time. That is really amazing. Have a great pregnancy day. Katie |

Btw Laurie, we are going to have the transnucleal test in Dec also. Have mixed feeling about it but my OB recommended it. As it's non-invasive I am not so worried however will be concerned about the outcome of course. What date is yours?

laurie, congrats on your u/s! the babies look great! that's crazy you heard someone lose a baby from coughing ... i was researching last night and found several medical sites that said coughing won't hurt baby because it is so protected/cushioned in amniotic fluid. in any event, that annoying cough seems to have subsided, thank gd!
katie, i don't wear my bella band rolled at all ... last thing we need right now is to feel MORE bulky! i just pull it down over my zipper area and have it totally smooth up to my stomach. then i looks like you've got a tank top layered or something. miranda, i think everyone gets that 24 hour panic before their next ultrasound ... wondering all the things that could go wrong. but nothing will! your babies were great last time, they'll be great again this time! i really haven't told many people that i'm pregnant - just immediate family and my best girlfriends. i think maybe after my first OB appt on the 27th. ![]() mustlovedogs, i hit the 12 week mark too and it's great. though, i thought i would feel an enormous sense of relief but now i'm like, ok i'll feel better at 16 weeks. my symptoms have also waned, i read that is common though towards the end of first trimester. sarah, awesome pictures of the twins! ![]()
