oops-forgot to mention I will post pics later on tonight!

Alana- thanks for posting the growth chart!

Shelley- love the clothes from The Children's Place-think I'll have to do some shopping as well.

As for my guess on Shelley's babies arrival date- I'm guessing August 13th. No reason on the date just a guess!

Online shopping is fun and guilt free .... until the bill comes in!! It is going to be hard to buy a bra online though.... I might just have to make due until after the babies are born. I also got a nursing tank top so I can probably use that a lot too

Elisa, wow your baby is doing so well and getting very big!! How exciting you might be delivering early!! I look forward to seeing the pictures.

Shelley if you buy online at some stores they tell you how to measure the girls, your back etc to get the right fit. I did this with my first two bras and they came out the perfect size. But waiting until after the birth is a good idea too.

Elisa, you are growing a nice big baby there hun! Wow, you could be going early too, that means Shelley, Christine and Elisa are all in a race to the finish line together. I still say Shelley will win, but not by much. Shelley you are doing such a great job carrying those triplets of yours I wouldn't be surprised if you made it full term to 37 weeks. Your doctors must be so proud of you.

I think Reed is measuring larger than average at the moment too, but I doubt my mean OB would let me induce as they like to torture people at my hospital. In fact, I was there to witness my worst nightmare on Monday. This girl walked in with the biggest belly and I heard her tell the nurses that she was almost 42 weeks. Next thing I know I'm sitting chatting to the doctor about Reed's NST results when the u/s technician comes barging in saying the baby of the 42 week girl was not doing well, the heart was very bad. The doctor ran off and I was left sitting there wondering why the heck they let her go to 42 weeks in the first place!!

It made me really mad as theres obviously some policy here in Toronto that they let women wait it out. A girl I know had her baby two years ago and they kept her waiting until 43 weeks! They refused to induce. Personally I think thats really neglectful and if they let Reed go that long I'm going to plant my butt in the hospital waiting room at 41 weeks and demand they get things going!!

Good afternoon! It's a hot one today! Just got back from taking my DD to the movies to see Wall-E - soooo cute! I feel swollen if I sit out in the heat for too long but feel bad for her that I can't really take her to the playground because of me. She's so good about it though. Going to my friends pool tomorrow which should really help the both of us.

BTW, I used a bottle warmer with the playtex bottles w/drop-ins, not a problem.

Sarah, you're too funny hiding the baby clothes! I gave up trying to hide my baby purchases from my DH. We need all this stuff & nothing I can do about it. Plus I'm running out of hiding places. Now all baby stuff has taken over my dining room until the contractors work on the nursery. Too much pressure trying to remember what I can & can't tell about! So far he hasn't said anything, just shakes his head!

Oh, the 4 oz Dr. Brown's plastic BPA free bottles seem to be the more difficult to get right now. As a matter of fact I'm not even sure they make them yet. The 8 oz bottles aren't a problem getting. I may just get a few 4 oz glass bottles since they don't use them for too long (if I can't get my hands on the plastic bottles).

Oh, don't forget to stock up on Desitin (regular), A&D or Aquaphor, Vaseline & keep a tube of Triple Paste on hand, it's expensive but so worth it when the baby has a bad diaper rash. I bought a few tubes of Triple Paste this time because when my DD was teething, OMG, her bottom was so raw she would scream! A layer of Triple Paste & a layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor over that makes a nice barrier. Also good to have on hand: Little Noses Saline drops (it's non-medicated), Mylicon drops & Infant Tylenol - the clear b/c it does stain. Those little baby emory boards are good to have since their little finger nails are too small to cut at first.

I know I'm rambling but these things are on my mind since I'm starting to take inventory.

Shelley, I ended up spending almost $90 on baby clothes from The Children's Place on-line! I couldn't resist how great the sale was. It came out to 25 items!

I saved my DD's baby clothes, but I knew she was going to be big so I pretty much just had 0-3 months & lot's of 3-6 months. Those 1-piece stretchy outfits are great for infants, especially in the winter months. The Carter's stuff is so great. Go to BRU - buy 1 get 2nd @ 50% off. And right now their clearance racks are filled with clothes, you just have to pick through. I know how my DD's sizes were when she was a baby so I did pick up some 12 month outfits for Corinne for next summer - dresses, shorts & onesies. The actual size doesn't matter when you have a tall child!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Jill

OMG Alana, I can't believe that! I know that here the docs won't induce unless medically necessary before 38 weeks. They were going to make me wait almost 2 weeks after my due date with Caroline. Thank god I went into labor @ 6 days late. My OB did say that he would induce me after 39 weeks this time, as long as I'm inducable (my cervix has to be short & thin & I have to be dilated at least 3 cm). He said it's very rough on the mom if the mom isn't ready & can sometimes cause stress to the baby if they induce too early. Sometimes you don't progress at all & end up with c-section.

If I were you I would try some home remedies to induce on my own! There are a few things you can do!

Elisa-sounds like you are growing one big baby in there!!! Glad to hear everything is going well and I cannot wait to see the pictures!!! I wish I got another u/s, my doc doesnt do one until 36-37 weeks...how exciting that your little one might be making an early appearance!

I am holding out on the nursing bras because everyone has told me they only get bigger so I hate to spend money on bras I wont even be able to use. Odd thing is that I can still wear some of my pre pregnancy bras, I was a full D before and dont quite fill out a DD now so I am trying to get by with what I have, but the nursing tanks are a good idea!

Jill-thanks for that list, I am going to write those things down and whatever I dont get at the shower I will def. have to make a trip to get! Carters is also on sale at JC Penny now too, I think the same sale, and they are such nice clothes and good quality!

Alana-I guess I wont be moving to Canada anytime soon! I cannot believe they would let them go that long! Did the doctor ever come back?

Alana - definitely try some of the home remedies (walking, S-E-X) if you end up going long - that is ridiculous that they won't induce. From what I have heard it can be dangerous for the baby because of aging placenta, IUGR, etc. to go too long just as it is dangerous to to go to soon!

I have started having crazy thoughts, daydreams like that they are wrong on the gender of one of the babies and now we have all of the monogrammed pink/blue stuff, that my doc won't do a c-section and they won't come until 40 weeks and I'll be begging for them to not let them go too long, etc., my dh thinks I am certifiable!!!

Hope everyone is having a great morning! I wasn't able to post the u/s pics last night but promise I'll do this evening.

Alana-WOW! I can't believe they'd let anyone go to 43 weeks! I have also heard the same as Fossie! My OB said induction only after 38 weeks with large baby only because a larger baby decreases chance of having a normal delivery. My 1st daughter only weighed 6lbs,14 oz and 2nd daughter was 7lbs,4 oz.

The receptionist here at my job is due 9/3, only 1 day after me and her u/s from last week showed her baby weighing 3lbs,11oz so she was in shock when she asked me how much my baby was weighing.

As for the shopping- I am having trouble picking out clothes so every store I've walked into I've walked out empty handed. I think it might be that I'm so use to shopping for the cute girl clothes. Boys clothing seems to be more simple. I have walked into pumkin patch and love their clothes but thinking like Jill- that I should be buying for next year-12 months & over since we received lots baby clothes ranging from newborn to 9 months, from the baby shower.

Sarah- still waiting to see pics of that beautiful nursery, hope you'll post soon!

Amy how are you doing?

2 weeks away from August - then we get to start having some Birthdays of course starting with Shelley no doubt!

I think the Birth's will come as follows:

Shelley
Christine
Amy
Jill
Me-Elisa

who's next?

Shellie (Fossie) & Celeste- what's your original due date? Would love to guess when in September your babies will come!

Oh & Fossie- I had the same crazy fear- that they might be wrong on the gender. Especially since after the last u/s we had asked them to confirm and they couldn't see his parts. So this time I told them that I was promised they'd confirm gender and that if he wasn't cooperating, I wasn't moving from the bed until he did-even if it took all day- of course the u/s tech laughed and we were able to see the parts, lol. I have been wanting to start washing all the baby clothes & decided to wait until we confirmed just in case I had to take everything BLUE back...so guess I can get started.

Wow Alana, that is crazy letting someone go way over 40 weeks! Maybe those girls had babies on the small side and they needed to grow more. Regardless that is nuts. I am measuring over 45 weeks now believe me if it was a single baby I would be doing whatever I could to get it out!!!

This afternoon I have a measurement scan to see how big the little monkeys are! It should be interesting.....they were 3 lbs a month ago!

We had a friend who was told she was having a girl and had a name and monogrammed stuff and everything and surprise....on the birthdate...it's a boy! But she only had one US. I think most of us have had more than one confirmatory scan. The US techs love showing me the babies' "parts" each time - and I like that each time the answer is the same!!

Elisa - My due date is Oct 10th, I think Fossie's is the same.

Shelley - That sale at The Children's Place is amazing!! Thanks for passing along the info!

Hope everyone is hanging in there - getting closer....

Elisa - Yep, October 10th but I have been told September 18th or so for a c-section if they aren't here by then and my doc seems convinced that they are coming in August - hopefully not, but if so I'm hoping really, really late August! I'm calling September 11th - that way all my babies (fur baby, and human) will be born on the same day and 11 is our lucky number - I have not hope of making it to October 11th!

Not that I want mine to come that soon but I think 8/8/08 would be a cool birthday too!

Shelllie, 08/08/08 would be a cool birthday. Too early for you though! This September thread is going to have lots of excitement in August! I hope you can hold on as long as you can. A month premature is not such a big deal. I was a month premature in the dark ages and I turned out fine

Yeah the Children's Place Sales are great. I bought some stuff the last time they had a sale and was impressed with the quality and prices. I have shopped in the store but they did not have as much sale merchandise. Don't forget to use promo code FA78 to get an extra 15% (it worked a few days ago)
