Amy I hope you find a scanner as you know what u/s picture addicts we all are! Thanks for keeping me and Reed in your prayers too, I'll take all the help I can get!

Shelley, Happy Birthday for yesterday hun. Just think, that was your last birthday with just you and DH together. Next year your three little ones will be celebrating it with you. Wow...I can't believe as Elisa said we are on the hourly countdown now. T.L.C are almost here! (I love that by the way, its so perfect). Are you nervous at all? I think I'm going to be an excited mess the day before my induction. Do you have your bags all packed? I guess you have to pack more than most with three babies and a c-section. Thats fantastic your little ones were practice breathing, it really does sound like you have 'take home' babies there. I'm so excited for you.

Elisa, thats great you are off work now. You can put those comfy sweats on and lounge around the house for a change. Especially if you are having contractions, you don't want to be at work while thats happening.

Sarah, I'd like the pediatrician question list if you don't mind pm'ing it to me. Oh...and don't clean stuff, get your DH to do it!!

Shellie, its funny you've encountered the breastfeeding nazis too. Honestly they bother the hel l out of me, why do they have to stick their noses into other peoples business. I mean for a start you're having twins and can't be expected to breastfeed 24/7...and for me I would really like my DH to be able to help out with feedings as we don't have any family here and I can't be expected to never sleep again! So if I can pump occasionally and he can give an evening or morning bottle I don't see the problem. Just don't tell the nazis that...they would hide all the bottles and breast-pumps if they could! Sarah, I think we need you to come over and kick these peoples butts, they are being very annoying!

Christine, thats good the contractions have settled down. You mentioned on another post that for your induction they might not have a bed available? Does that mean you would just go in the next day or could you be waiting longer? Why can't they just hold you a bed now?? I think when we do mine I'll be about 38 weeks, I could have chosen to go the week before at 37 but the OB said some babies still have breathing issues at that point. I figured if we can we should go one more week. How many weeks will you be for your induction?

Question for all of you - how do you know that you are having contractions? Is it just from the NST tests, or monitoring or can you just tell - what do they feel like? My doctor said not to be surprised next week if my cervix is changed and I have dilated because I may not even know if I am having contractions - I just wonder if you guys can tell the difference in BH contractions and the real thing?

Happy Belated Birthday - Shelley!!!

I am so excited that our anniversary is Monday but then I remember that there is no fun trip involved this year and I'll be lucky if I can have a good meal out that doesn't make me puke!!! For some reason I have started throwing up and getting really nauseated - I'm going to ask the doc about it but I think it is just a by-product of horrible acid-reflux all day and night!

Oh, I just remembered the good news! We pre-registered at the hospital and signed up for the Titans (Tennessee - NFL) suite if it is available - woohoo, that should be good!

Shellie-
When I was having BH and had to go to the hopsital to be monitored I asked the nurse how you could tell the difference between BH and contractions and she said the only real way to tell the difference was whether or not they were dilating your cervix. If your cervix is still closed then they are BH (your uterus just practicing) but if your cervix is starting to open then they are the real thing. So you really do not know unless you have an internal to check.

Elisa-yaaay for the last day of work...about the time you will be home I will be going back to work, ugh! It is nice though to sleep in and not have to worry about getting dressed in a certain way. As for the pediatrician I dont know about where you live but we called for appts. and right away they put us in their system so we dont have to call them back and tell them we want to use them we just tell the hospital and they call the doc we picked the day the baby is born. Another interesting thing is that in NY the pediatrician no longer does the circumcision but the OB does...weird huh? Oh well anyway good luck on the search, and I highly suggest getting suggestions from friends and family because we ended up going with one that we knew other people liked. I cannot believe you are so close to welcoming your little one, how exciting! I think the race is on to see who goes first, second, and so on!

Amy-how exciting about the 3D!!! 6 pounds is a nice number, hopefully that will help with a fastr delivery! My DH keeps making comments about a 10 pounder and I told him he would be really sorry if the baby was that big, lol!

Alana-I'll be right over, lol! I will pm you those questions.

Shellie-I have not had real contractions but my doctor told me BH were if you feel like a tightening and squeezing...not like that was a lot of help, but he did tell me if I had more than 5 or 6 in an hour to call them...hope its just BH for you and not the real thing!

So ladies I have experienced some raging hormones today...DH has this annoying habbit of drapping his dirty pants over the hamper in the laundry room (how hard is it to shove them the rest of the way I ask you?!?!), I mean one day there were 4 or 5 pairs of pants like this so I told him next time it happened I would throw them out in the yard! Well of course I didnt do it the next few times he did it, well today I was not in a good mood and not very happy with him and went to do some laundry and saw the pants like that and got sooooo angry and opened the window and threw them in the yard...all the while I am crying, not really sure why. So now I guess I should go pick up the pants, but would also really like to teach DH a lesson...how bad am I? Gotta love these hormones!

Lol...Sarah I don't know whether to laugh or cry with you as I'm so darn hormonal too! I guess you could leave the pants there and teach him a lesson however I see DH's as being a bit like puppies. Unless you catch them in the act all that happens is they get all hurt and confused and can't understand what they did wrong. Maybe next time just follow him down to the hamper and when you see him doing it throw them out in front of him.

I didn't know that stuff about the contractions either. I wonder if that means the BH's I've been having are actually the real thing since my cervix is dilating. I don't get them very often but when I do they are kind of painful. Thankfully they haven't happened in the last couple of weeks.

Oh and I almost forgot but in the last two months I've gained a total of only 1 pound! I don't understand it as in total I've gained 25 pounds but its completely stopped the last 8 weeks even though I'm still eating as much as ever.

Anyone else not gaining much anymore??

Venting about baby shower

Ok..I hate to do this but I need to vent. I feel selfish because a shower is a party being thrown for you so you should be happy with want you get but at the same time this is something that I have been looking forward to for awhile...celebrating this baby!

Well here is the deal....my MIL is a very opinionated person and things always have to be done her way.

( a little history- for my bridal shower things were discussed and planned with all parties helping with the shower. My MIL agreed on the plans and said she would help with certain things. Everything that she was in charge if she CHANGED!!!! She did not do anything that had been planned as a group.)

Now to present day……I wanted to know when my shower was because I HATE surprises. My sister respected my wishes and told me. My MIL did not want this and has been griping about it for over a month now (GROW UP AND GET OVER IT!!!!)

Through conversations with my sister I have learned that my MIL has been talking trash about me to my sister!!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT????????

When planning for the shower MIL mentioned wanting to invite some males and my sister asked do you mean a couple’s shower and she said no just a few men like his father and bother. So my sister was like fine. Well come to find out she has invited the entire families on DH’s side. Which would be fine if it was a family event but all of my family and friends will be just female. And now we go to the children on DH’s side. They range from 11-13 and are normal boys full of energy. WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO AT MY SHOWER!?!?!?!?!

I know I am being selfish but I just had a picture in my head of how my shower was going to be and from the sounds of it, it is going to be a circus. I just hope I can hold it together and my pregnant hormones don’t come out.

Thanks for listening…I keep reminding my self that it is just a shower and the most important this is my baby.

Katrina, while it might be just a shower its still very frustrating that your MIL has pretty much sabotaged it and has invited teenage boys along! I don't blame you at all for being annoyed about that. Have you spoken to anyone else in the family about it? Your MIL is definately not being nice talking about you to your sister...and if I were you I'd tell your sister to tell her to stop as she doesn't want to hear it. You could of course confront her but I know I'd be too scared to do that with my MIL!

I'm really sorry she is ruining your shower hun, however I'm sure once all your friends are there you will completely forget your MIL and her family and will enjoy yourself anyway. Its a pity you can't pour yourself a large glass of wine to help get through it all!

Alana-yeah i think I might go pick them up, but i did email Dh and tell him what I did...and yes they are like puppies. And I am on the other end, I have started gaining the weight now, like I said before 5 1/2 pounds in three weeks, yeah I am going to end up looking like a blimp!

katrina-first of all how dare your MIL talk smack about you to your own sister!!!! can i just say duh! Well depending on how you want to deal with it I would just tell your sister to tell your friends and family to bring their spouses, or when it comes time for the shower it will be quiet obvious what your MIL did, I mean if none of your friends or family have their spouse with them and then its pretty obvious that your MIL is to blame. And I dont think there is anything wrong with venting about this, first of all it is an important milestone in your pregnancy and a celebration of your baby, and second all of your complaints (for lack of a better work cause I dont think you are complaining at all) are justified. That's why next time I have a baby if we have a shower I am planning it myself, lol. Just keep thinking of all the goodies you will be getting and how excitied all your friends and family are that this baby is almost here! I had the opposite problem with my MIL, she didnt want to do anything but give my mom money for the shower...but instead of the wine maybe you could have a big piece of chocolate cake or brownies or something like that =)

Shellie-I forgot to say I too have been having a hard time with feeling sick to my stomach and will def. have to ask about the acid reflux at my next appt.

HOROMONES! I started crying last night because (I think) I felt ignored, dh was watching football and I was just sitting on the couch obsessing and worrying about god knows what and just started crying. He asked what was wrong and I said nothing which made him think he had to guess so he started guessing and finally I had to tell him that I had no idea why I was crying and when he started laughing it made me cry more. It did get him to take me for ice cream at Marble Slab though!

Katrina - so sorry you are dealing with shower woes. I was really lucky that I had an awesome friends shower and then a family shower which meant that I didn't put too many expectations on either one.

Alana - I was really concerned that I only put on 1 pound in two weeks and when I mentioned it to my doc he acted like it was no big deal and said the important thing is that the baby (ies) grow well and that you are continuing to try to eat well.

Sarah - the thing about acid reflux is that all of the no no foods are the only ones that I think sound even remotely good - nothing food wise really appeals to me lately except for things like spaghetti and lasagna that are not good for acid reflux on a lot of levels. I broke down this morning and had exactly what I wanted for breakfast - a strawberry ice cream bar and a glass of chocolate milk!

Amy-No, I doubt I'll be beating Shelley. She totally deserves the 1st spot on our "Arrival" list once that gets started.

Fossie-The contractions I'm feeling are AF like cramping, with lower back pain and tighting of the uterus, hope that helps you. I may be wrong but what I've been told is BH's are practice contractions and you usually just feel your uterus tightening up without the back pain and cramping.

Sarah-thanks for sharing the info-I'll start asking friends and co-workers who they use.

Katrina - i am so sorry about your MIL. I do hope that you do enjoy the shower and that your gifts are things that you need and want.

Alana - unfortunately with the hospital, they cannot hold a bed --- i wish it was like a hotel since they have a lot of emergency deliveries and high risk patients, they call as soon as a bed becomes available and we should expect to be there within 1 hour of the call. no biggie - when i was there last time, I delivered Ethan in a regular hospital room and then was moved to L&D....which was a wonderfully large room! we stayed there with Andrew until he passed away and waited for a room to open up on the post partum floor ( a few hours later ).

As you can see, i never made it to the baseball game.
After the class and my appt, we got home and i passed out for 3 hours!

we are off to some friends house to soak in the pool, my legs and feet are so swollen, i feel like my feet are going to explode!

Aedyn is quite the jiggler today - she is not stop with the kicks and punches.

Shelley!!!!!!!!!! tomorrow is the big day!!!!

Elisa - I hope that you get your wish with 8.22

We Sept gals are doing pretty good you know - our first delivery is in Aug. as expected.

Shellie - crying is okay! we are all hormonal right now

Amy - you got a little one on your hands.

We dont find out an estimate weight until Tuesday - I can hardly wait!
