Two more days - I am not counting really

Jill we also went to the grocery store on saturday....and boy it was tough just getting around the store and I had DH with me.
And Tums have been my best friend for a few months now.....my HB is not that bad, but i cant lay down without having acid come up so tums just before i fall asleep has been working.

Sarah - i can't help but buy ice cream everytime we are at the store......but this time, we stered clear so we could finish what is in the freezer. i am not much of an ice cream eater while not prego.....so i have to go back to that!
I have more than packed on the pounds - i have packed on an entire person and a baby.
I will definatly be working hard to get this weight off. i figure i have 9 months before we try again so i should be able to lose the 50 i have put on and the 30 i put on with the twins and the fertility drugs.

Halloween!!! I have no idea what to find for her - i thought of going to BRU, but that place is freaking me out right now. everytime i walk in i want to buy everything!

Shelley - keep us posted on the boys and when they are all home.

Amy - Glad you finally got the Crib together!!!

Well I think i have rambled enough today.

Alana - my prayers are with you and Reed, be sure to keep us posted on the u/s! We love you both.

Sounds like we are all going through the same stuff. I had a breakdown last night as my dh and I were having a good time grilling ribs and sitting on the back deck and when he fixed a gin and tonic I kind of lost it and started whining about being tired of being pregnant. He of course started freaking because he wants us to last for another month at least and I do to but I am not sleeping, I've developed carpal tunnel, I'm getting really cranky, even more sore and I am just so, so ready to get on with being a parent rather than an incubator!

I don't even think we have pumpkin patches around here - sounds fun though, I might have to try to find one. I am definitely doing the costume thing and taking pictures and our first professional pictures of the babies are going to be Holiday themed for our announcement - I'm all about the Holidays!

So exciting that many of you are in short-term countdown! I have found myself getting freaked out again - we took the double stroller out of the box and put it together and got the four bases and two car seats out and put together but then when we were going to take the trash down to the curb for today's pick-up neither of us could do it because we still have a fear that both babies aren't going to make it and we might need to take stuff back - we definitely need to work on being more positive!

Alana - I'm sorry to hear that you got more scary news. Hopefully everything will be just fine and he will plump up this week! If not, I think you're right in insisting that they get him out, even if it is a bit early.

SHelley - COngrats! So glad to hear that the boys are all well - what a shock that Tia is now Tyler! Now I'm starting to get nervous about having bought all boy/girl stuff!
They are adorable and you look great - Enjoy the blessings of motherhood, you deserve it!

Fossie - Totally know what you mean about being paranoid about getting everything ready. It's hard not to be. And enjoy these last few days/week of pregnancy, as hard as it can be as I guarantee you will miss them being in there once they are out. It may seem like you won't, but you will, for a little while anyway. After DD was born, I even forgot what it was like to feel her moving in there which was so upsetting because I loved it so much!

Christine - 2 more days!!! Can you believe it??

As for Halloween, my DD is going to be Little Bo Peep and I got 2 infant sheep costumes for the babies! Can't wait to see that...

You are all so close - everyday I check wondering if someone has delivered!!

Christine-only two more days, hope you are all ready and resting up!

Amy-yeah sleep is getting harder, I wake up almost every hour or two and have to turn on the other side. I must be getting huge and heavy because each time I turn over there are horrible indent lines where the blanket or sheet was under me!

Alana-wanted to pass on a good story I heard this morning, my friend's friend went into labor last night and was only 34 1/2 weeks along and the baby was 6 lbs 12 oz, 19 inches long and crying and yelling like crazy. they took him to the NICU but he very quickly went to be with her in the room and it appears he is doing just fine. So I wanted to let you know that if Reed did make an early appearance I am sure he would be just fine!

BRU has some adorable costumes!!! They had a cute monkey but it was only in toddler sizes =( But I think Jackson is going to be a penguin from Old Navy, it is just too cute to resist!

My feet are out of control!!! They are sooo swollen today, I was helping my friend set up her classroom and had to leave earlier than I wanted to come home and put up my feet...I really hope they dont do this when I go back to work...anyone have any good ways to get the swelling down other than putting them up? Oh and they hurt at the joint, is that normal?? I have been lucky so far without having swelling like this so I am not sure what to do!

Hi ladies,

Wow, so much is going on in here, I can't keep up!

Shelley, I posted on the other thread but I want to say congrats again! You and the babies look absolutely beautiful! I wish you'll have a quick recovery and have your entire family at home very soon. I'm so happy for you and your DH and wish you all the best with all my heart.

Alana, I'm so sorry to hear that Reed's development has slowed down a bit. However, I feel very positive that he will be very healhty, even though he has to arrive a little sooner than planned. You've done a wonderful job so far putting yourself on bedrest and taking it easy. It must be fun to be fed all sorts of yummy food by your DH How sweet of him to take care of you and Reed like that. I just know that he will be perfectly fine at the end but also understand your concerns. Hang in there sweetie, you will have him in your arms soon and it will all be worth it.

Christine, Aedyn will be here soon! You must be super excited. I will pray that all goes well with your delivery. I can't wait to meet your beautiful little girl.

I was looking at all the shower pictures and they all look wonderful. Mine is this Saturday and I can't wait. I had to ask my friends to do it a little late because I wanted my mom to be there. She arrived on Saturday and now I feel so much better. It's so good to have her around. She immediately took control and began arranging things, which would bother some people but makes me very happy now. I feel like I needed her really bad

We had our 34 week check up on Friday. Selim has been head down throughout my whole pregnancy but now he's breech He was head down at week 30 so even the doctor was surprised that he turned this late in the pregnancy. It's very uncomfortable when he kicks now because he kicks down low and really hard. Anyway, I was pretty upset about it. We will check back in two weeks to see if he turns around but for now, we scheduled a C-section on September 25th at 10:30 AM. We're looking into a Chinese technique called Moxibustion to turn breech babies. Has anyone heard of this before? It has pretty good success rates but I'm scared to do anything. Even though I was upset at first, I'm beginning to think that it's kind of cool to have your delivery scheduled and know that it will be over fast versus an unknown labor. However, if I could pick, I would still choose vaginal delivery so I will do my best to turn him but if I can't, it's not the end of the world.

I'm so glad to see everyone doing really well as we approach the end of our pregnancies. It went by so fast. Now that I have time to participate a little more, we're almost done I can't wait to finaly meet the little ones we've been talking about all this time. It'll be fun and exciting.

Take care ladies! We're almost there.

Sarah - i have found that stuffing my feet into tennis shoes has kept the swelling and pain away from the feet, but my cankels are huge!!! those dont hurt though. Really try to stay away from shoes that do not comress the feet - i feel much better with tennies on - in fact yesterday after an hour with out shoes, i had to have DH help me put my tennies back on.

Emajoo - glad to see you!!! i hope little Selim decides to turn back around but you are right, there is some comfort to knowing when you are being induced/schedule for c-section.

Okay - I just had the crap scared out of me!!!!

the clinic just called and said I missed my amnio appt today!!! apparently it was scheduled today and my induction was schedule on the 20th.....someone made a boo boo......inductions are scheduled the day after the amnio.

so the amnio has been sqeezed back in for tomorrow at 10:30, holy holy holy!

they almost had me going in this afternoon - which would be fine, but then I would have to call DH from work and his parents are not quite here yet, so they'd get here and we would be at the clinic.

okay - freak me out!!!! freak me out!!!! freak me out!!!!

well that was enough to wake me up and panic.

holy holy holy is all i can say. Thank goodness, they love me and are okay with sqeezing me in tomorrow...at 10:30

so we are still on schedule!

Alana, I have a friend whose body rejected being pregnant. She went into labor with both girls starting at 20 weeks and between IVs and daily medication she was able to hold both girls until 34 weeks but not past that point. Her oldest daughter was just under 6 pounds and did spend one day in the NICU but was fine within 24 hours. Her youngest daughter came in at over 6 pounds and was healthy from day one. So don't lose hope!

Ebru-now you have me scared! My little guy has been head down the whole time too, so we will have to wait and see what he is doings tomorrow. But I hope Selim will turn his little hiney around and you can have a vaginal birth like you want! Hope you get lots of goodies at your shower and you have tons of fun! We are almost there!!!

Christine-thanks for the tip, I thought it would be the other way around but I will have to try the tennis shoes because I know either way they are going to swell but I think that is why my ankles and feet hurt because it was all concentrated in the top of the foot and crook of the ankle...ah the joys of pregnancy! And that phone call would have freaked me out too, good thing they could fit you in tomorrow!

Well after a 2 hour nap, yes 2 hours, the swelling is down but I still have no ambition, blah! Oh well it is one of my last days of freedom and laziness before work starts so I am going to take advantage of it!

Sarah, definately make the most of resting up before you go back to work...because once you are there you'll be dreaming of your comfy bed all day! Thanks for the story about the baby born at 34 weeks. I'm sure if Reed is born early he will be fine, I'm actually more concerned now that hes measuring so small. If he hasn't grown at the next u/s even my DH is going to yell at the doctors until they take him out. So fingers crossed hes gained some weight.

Christine, thats scary about the appointment, I thought maybe you might be delivering tomorrow for a second. But wow...Wednesday is pretty much here. I can't believe Aedyn makes her grand entrance this week. I still remember us all comparing our 8 week u/s pictures.

Ebru, I hope little Selim turns himself around, I've heard they can do it right up until 37 weeks so heres hoping. But having a scheduled delivery isn't a bad thing either, at least you can have everything planned out which might be nice too.

Jill, are you scheduled for an induction too? I can't remember, I know Amy is on the 30th, weren't you in August too?

Shellie, I'm with you on wanting the baby just to be here already. This last part of pregnancy has been very trying and stressful for me and while I adore feeling him moving etc, I just want him safely out here now. I had no idea the third trimester was such a looooooong never-ending time. The first two trimesters seemed to go much quicker.

Thanks girls by the way for all your support and prayers. I'm a worried wreck over here but you are all getting me through. I just keep having this image in my head of Reed starving and no-one is there to help him. I know thats crazy as babies don't feel hunger until they are out. But it upsets me anyway. Especially since my pregnancy book says that babies at this stage are actually crying silently in the womb. They get quivery lips and everything. Its good practice for when they get out suppposedly. But now I keep thinking of him crying in there because hes hungry. Wow...I really need a stiff drink or something! lol

De-lurking for Ebru. They were just talking on the radio on how to turn a breech baby with music/headphones and the ironing board trick. I looked up the article for you on old wives tricks:

Turning A Breech Baby: Here are 17 Ways to turn a breech baby!

They are pretty non-invasive (unless you count the headstand in the pool....umm, I couldn't do that in my non pregnant state)

Good luck...and if you try these, take pictures

Thanks Amy! These are helpful. We have been trying the music and the light. He's moving quite a bit but I'm not sure if he's turned, it's so hard to tell. He's definitely not kicking me low today though.
It's too funny about the pool positions. I've been reading similar stuff. I'm a pretty good swimmer but I don't think I have the courage to attempt going headdown in a pool at this point But if I do, I'll be sure to tell DH to bring an underwater camera so that if Selim ever misbehaves in the future, I can show him what I had to go through to deliver him We have an appointment with a Chinese therapy place tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

So, seeing as Shelley has started off the September girls births with her three little boys, I highly recommend for sentimental reasons reading back on the early pages of this thread. I just looked back on the pages of our first trimesters and I had to constantly look at my ticker just to be sure I really was almost at the end of this pregnancy. It seems like only yesterday we were comparing early u/s pictures and first heartbeats. Shelley, your little boys are here now...it will be especially surreal for you to read back on all the hopes you had for your babies and the concerns you had that they might not make it here. But they did!! Christine, the same for you in two days. It made me quite emotional...guess its those darn pregnancy hormones again! lol
