Lol...sorry to laugh Tracy hun but worrying about the wart is something I would do. You reminded me of me! I keep stressing about silly stuff like 'what will they think of my untrimmed nether-regions' and 'omg my toes aren't painted'. Which I know is insane considering the last thing anyone at the hospital will be concerned about is a little wart on someones foot or a hairy 'down there'. But still...here I sit thinking about these things. Oh, and just call me Miss Insomnia too.

Anyone heard anything from Elisa? I'm starting to get worried.

Anyway, I had my u/s appointment today and it went well. It would seem that the B12 injections and iron supplements are working. According to the u/s measurements (which can be out 1/2 pound but its close enough) our little guy grew to just over 6 pounds. The OB said he was measuring perfectly and even is heart was doing really well. So I'm very happy today.

I'm a wee bit annoyed they didn't take my concerns about having Celiac disease more seriously though. I mean, one of the symptoms of it is an inability to absorb nutrients. You would think doctors would be worried about that considering the baby relies completely on me for food. But nope...they couldn't care less. So its become more and more apparent to me over this last year that the only person that will ever really care about my health is ME. The doctors do the best they can but with so many patients they don't have the interest in my health like I do. So if any of you are thinking you need more monitoring or your doctor should be doing something...DEMAND IT!! I seriously believe only we can know what is ultimately best for us and our babies.

Okay...so that was my rant for the day. lol. How are all you girls doing??

Alana - such good news! And, I totally have the same trivial concerns - I got a pedicure about a week ago and worry that it will wear off before delivery and that I won't be able to get back in for another - I know, NOT something to be worried about and probably something nobody will notice but me. Especially since we are having a c-section, they might have me take off polish anyway!!!

I definitely get a second wind and then stay awake worrying - mine comes at about 3:00 AM since I have started trying to stay awake later which helps me stay asleep longer. I think it helps just because I get more continuous hours. That is another thing I think about is that I know babies often have days and nights mixed up and I think that as long as I am awake I should try to be active at night to soothe them asleep so they will be more awake in the day when I am just sitting on my computer - silly I know!

I'm the same way!! Both Sunday and today there was the threat that I would be admitted to the hospital and I DID think I really wanted to get my toes done again. Not for what the nurses etc will think but for my own peace of mind....I guess it's just one thing we can control in this scenario! Plus, I would just feel bugged thinking of it, which is really crazy. But, I have a crazier story from today.

I went for my appts and due to my proteinuria, they do not want to let me go past Sunday (36 weeks). It was to be a scheduled C-section but since both babies are now presenting head down, they advise vaginal delivery. (what blows my mind is that my almost 6 pound baby can turn upside down and I don't feel a thing!) So, they had me wait to see if I was to stay or be scheduled for an induction. As I was sitting there, quite scared paired with rather in shock, I thought: what if I just ran out of here, what would happen. But of course that's irrational but made sense at the time. Then I thought I can barely walk let alone run, it just won't work, so I scratched that plan.
So now I am to call in Sat at 5pm to find out what time to arrive for inducement. It looks like I will deliver at some point Sunday. I'm surprised I'm such a wimp as I like to think of myself as rather tough, noncomplaining type in general.

Alana, looking forward to hear your news on Reed. I also am up most of the night, and hourly to the bathroom. Both babies heads and my fibroid are against the bladder. In fact, one baby's head is past the pelvis, that's what they said today, so feeling lots of pressure. I can't believe I could be home on Tuesday with two babies!

Also, trying to post 35 weeks photos as may be my last.

Alana,
Just read your post--so happy for your good news! I totally agree on the doctor stuff, I know they're busy but you really do need to advocate. Today the specialist was going to send me home for another week but I told him the doctor who is covering for my doctor had put me on bedrest until today to see what he advised due to 24 hr protein results. He said he didn't see that, so that really shook my trust in them, the system. As it is, whoever is on call delivers the babies. How come on the tv shows it's always the patients' doctors and not some stranger? Anyway I know they're busy but still.

Why don't we all just get our toes done and call it a day!!

Justine - you look great!!! I can't believe you are delivering on Sunday but the babies are great weights and sounds like they are ready!!!

You are right about the control thing - everything else is just so up in the air or in somebody elses hands so it makes sense that we cling to the small stuff.

The doctors really will worry you. I again today had to remind my doctor that we are having a c-section because of the position of the babies and the fibroids - jeesh! Plus, he said well, I am on call this weekend so if you go this weekend I'll be doing the delivery which makes me thing well, what happens if you aren't - I thought that was part of it - you come in when we go into labor!?!

Good luck to all of you who are just counting down the days - wow, it doesn't seem like it should be that time yet!!!

Justine-super exciting that the girls will be here in only a few days!!! Your comment about running out of there had me cracking up, I would have to waddle I think! And You are soo not a wimp, delivery is a scary thing, at this point I am blocking it out of my mind and just keep telling myself that the baby will just suddenly appear and no labor necessary. Too bad its not possible, lol! And your belly is just too cute!

Shellie-I am also up at 3 am every morning, maybe we should start a 3 am thread! I was tempted to get up this morning and hem a pair of pants I have been putting off, but figured it would wake DH up.

Alana-yaaaay for a great appt and u/s!!! Reed sounds like he is plumping right up! And it amazed me that you only have less than two weeks left!!!!

So all of you ladies sound like you have "dropped" and I feel like my little guy is floating around up high, today we had training and I had to sit sideways in the chair because he was literally sticking his butt out my side, you could see the bump and then on the other side it was soft and empty feeling...and this is his favorite position lately! And today Dh had to go to work early so I had to put my own shoes on and tie them...yeah I am getting slip on shoes tomorrow, it took all I had to tie them, I even contemplated wearing them to work untied! Well I am about pooped and my carpal tunnel is horrible lately (pretty soon DH will have to type for me!) so I am going to go lay on the couch and do nothing, well probably fall asleep! Amazing that our babies are here or shortly on their way!!!!

Hope everyone had a great day!

Tracy, I had a plantar's wart years ago & what works (please don't be too grossed out!) but rubbing urine on it a few times a day helps to make it disappear. Yuck, I hate even mentioning this but it really does work. Good luck with this!

Justine, you look so great! I hope everything goes well this weekend. Will be crossing my fingers for you.

Alana, that is so awesome that Reed has grown. I am so happy! The rate I'm going we could end up sharing baby birthday's! This little girl doesn't want to make an appearance just yet.

I have some back issues & have been so-so throughout this pregnancy. But I woke up this a.m. with the left side of my lower back totally out of whack. I can't seem to crack it back into place & can't walk as it is with the giant belly & added weight. I could cry. I know it's from sleeping on my side so much. And it's only 7p.m. & my eyes are closing. I need energy for when the baby comes.

Major heartburn right now & will have to chew on some tums for the 20th time today.

OK, DH just got home & I said I would make him dinner while he gets DD bathed & ready for bed.

Have a good night & good sleep ladies! Lord knows I'm ready now!

Jill

Sarah, thats cute Jackson sticks his butt out to one side like that. Reed does that with his feet. His favorite past-time is kicking his daddy's hand. DH will poke him on what I think is a knee and this little foot will pop him right back. Its very cute.

Justine, you look amazing for a twin mommy. In fact, all you girls look amazing in your photos. Who haven't we had one from in a while? Sarah? Amy? Thats exciting you are being induced this weekend Justine. Do you have everything ready? We just have to buy a few more diapers and I think then we're done. This is my last weekend just DH and me so we're going to make the most of sleeping and doing nothing. You will have to do that the next 3 days!!

Jill, I'm sure your little girl will make an appearance before the 7th. Otherwise won't you be 41 weeks? Wow, she'll be a little fatty by then. I can't wait to see pictures of everyone babies. Can you believe that we are now the due-dates group who are coming into their final month? Its almost September!!

I really don't think I can sleep tonight too.

Katrina, that's great news, won't be long now.

Jill, sorry to hear you're in so much discomfort...hang in there!

Sarah, I've heard of the baby dropping but I haven't noticed it. Come to think of it I have carried rather low throughout. Now I'm looking down at my upper stomach and I guess it does look smaller, but could be attributed to Baby B going unside down, so no cranium under my ribcage. I'm usually so attuned to my body I feel a bit of a dunce lately. When I see my reflection I'm always surprised to see my size. I can understand it when people gain weight and then say I had no idea I was so big...seems you just adjust to it and it becomes normal, until you catch an unexpected glimpse. I'd like to take some more photos to document the pregnancy and have reminders for the future.

Am I ready? not really. I just cannot get it all done and honestly get so overwhelmed just trying to figure out what a day will be like with two babies (Can I leave them in the nursery during the day, should I bring downstairs and use pack n play? Do I bring one baby at a time down the stairs?) I know I've been stressed about the logistics of twins since we found out it was twins. I'm sure it will be okay, just blows my mind, still.

I'm just hoping it all comes together for us once they're here. Panicking a bit, I guess. I have this crazy idea I won't be able to do anything once they're here, and be stranded at home and now is my chance to do things. For Saturday I do need to pack a bag for the hospital stay and would like to go out for Korean food on Friday after my med appt. That's all I came up with so far. Plus I'm on bedrest, so limited in my options.

I'm gaining more admiration for women who have gone through childbirth as I near it myself.

Yeah Alana - Good news on Reed!

I am so exhausted - this Csection has kicked my bum. I am okay pretty much during the day, but by the time i lay down to sleep, boy do i sleep. DH and I are pretty much doing everything together - I cant quite get out of bed fast enough, so he does the night time diaper and gets her bottle ready and i do the feeding.

we are still struggling with the BF - but are working on it. She is just so impatient since they had to start her with the bottle - she just doesnt want to work for her milk - so i pump and bottle feed her and supplement with formula to ensure she is getting enough.

Where is Elisa?

Did i miss any babies being born - i tried to catch up as much as i could - everyone seems to be doing great!

so i thought i upload a few more pics of our little doodle bug (for some reason i started calling her this in the hospital and it is sticking quite well) she gives a little smile and pucker when i call her this.
I guess we have her nick name

Justine-I have the same worries you do and I am only having one so dont stress too much, you will figure out a routine and what works best for you when the little ones are here. I did ask DH if we could buy a new house that has one story, I have this big fear of falling down the stairs with Jackson...but he said no.

ALana-I will send you some diapers! I got so many from my shower its not even funny, I seriously have 500+ newborn diapers, so I really hope he doesnt end up being like a 9 pounder because he wont fit in the newborns for very long!

Katrina-sounds like you are pretty close to D-Day!!!!

Well off to another day of training where I just sit and try not to fall asleep! But at least its something to do to keep the time passing, but it seems to have slowed a little I think because of the upcoming u/s! Oh and has anyone found themselves loosing their temper? I had an exorcist moment last night over something very silly (not that I would admit that to DH) but I just found myself getting so angry I threw a cup at him, well it wasnt really at him but near him....I just could not help myself and in my mind I was thinking I was going crazy and throwing this cup is really not necessary and then it just happened! Dh steared clear of me for the rest of the night, but I was worried the rest of the night that I had hurt the poor baby by getting that stressed, I am sure my BP went sky high and I just could not seem to control it, I even took deep breaths and closed my eyes and tried to reason with myself...I just dont know if this is normal?! I have heard of women getting emotional and crying a lot but not about them going crazy and throwing things and having temper tantrums (which is basically what I did)...anyhoo now that you all think I am nuts I am really off to work! Have a great days ladies and cannot wait for the next birth?

Elisa-hope all is well!

ok...time for me to vent....

Today is the second day of school for my kindergarteners and I am lying in bed.....I just received an e-mail from a co-worker that it is a free for all in my classroom and the substitute has NO contol over the students......

I was afraid that this was going to happen. My substitute is right out of college. ( I realize that everyone has to start somewhere) I was told from a parent of one of my students that on orientation night. When the sub started to do her intro she started talking in a valley girl voice and said she graduated from Penn State and asked the parents how many penn state people there were and the she said "We are" wanting the parents to say penn state and the parents just started at her!!!!!!!!

Oh my...my kiddos are going to be a mess when I return to school in January! Oh well there is not use stressing about it. There is nothing I can do about it!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for listening to me vent!!!!
