Justine, I am butting in from the October due date buddies (I will deliver in September since it is twins) and just wanted to let you know that I felt the exact same way and when I went in for my 2nd ob appt. my doctor actually suggested that I meet with a high risk doctor in case he "got in over his head." The meeting with the high risk doc was fabulous and it seemed to me that was right where I needed to be. I am still with my regular ob but he is in consult with the high risk doctor and the high risk dr. is advising him on things like more frequent ultrasounds for fibroids, early gestational diabetes test because of family risk factors, etc. and all of my ultrasounds will be with the maternal fetal medicine group. Twins are much more common nowadays but as Christine said I think they refer off the philosophy of how many different factors you have and with me it was a previous miscarriage, IVF, and fibroids. With you maternal age, previous loss and undergoing infertility treatment may be enough to warrant seeing a specialist - or at least I would think so!

Hi Shellie, it is good to see you here.

You have such a great attitude Christine about trying for another one right away. I orginally would have planned to do the same but if this pregnancy continues to do well, I am sure I will be done!! I know what you mean about the costs adding up!!! I drive a sedan and my DH drives a truck. I should be able to fit 3 car seats in my car we get the Sunshine Kids Radian 80 @ @250 each. We will eventually be buying a mini van and bigger house!!!

We plan on getting a triple decker stroller so we will need to buy 3 infant car seats for the first year and then convert to the toddler seats or buy another stroller. The runabout stroller is so huge and draws too much attention. The Peg had some bad reviews. There is a jogging buggy one that had good reviews except difficult or impossible to get it into some stores.

I did check out the IKEA website and think we will go with the first one we saw in Burlington, just have to get up the courage to actually buy it, probably by then they wont have it anymore. And I have to get that baby bargains book! I might just go order it right now!

Shellie-Whenever my DH starts complaining about babies costing so much I am going to tell him, well at least we are just having one, imagine what three would cost, that should shut him up!

I am just super excited that we are all at a point in our pregnancies where we can worry less about something going wrong and worry about what crib to buy, its just so nice! Oh and the worrier that I am I didn't like the heart rate at the doctors yesterday so I used it again tonight and it was a nice strong 151, and he is moving around like crazy, and I also felt something funny going on, hard to explain but I heard a noise on the doppler, like air being let out of a balloon and felt the same type of thing, just wondering what it could be? Anyhoo the sound of the hb helped me relax after a super stressful day, it's always an amazing sound! I am going away on vacation to North Carolina to visit my sister in law so I may be MIA until next weekend, so I hope everyone has a great week and good luck on any appointments coming up!!!!

Have fun Sarah! I'm very jealous over here, I would love a vacation. But I have one more subject to complete at my design school before I can get away. How exciting also if you felt the baby maybe move. I still haven't felt anything other than ligament pain and gas. I'm so bloated most days thanks to the joys of constipation that the baby probably won't be felt until I give birth!!

I'm currently researching my Baby Bargains book for strollers. (Sarah, you can buy in on Amazon and its really worth it). But I'm completely confused about strollers only because some of them are insanely expensive and I really don't understand what the difference is with most of them. I think I need to do more research! lol

I'm soooooo tired these days, I think because I'm not sleeping very well at the moment. Anyone else suffering with insomnia? I think I must be uncomfortable or something as I kick and wriggle all night. Poor DH...he sleeps right on the edge of the bed to escape me.

Alana- I know I am currently the same way right now. It's super hard for me to find a comfortable position now that I can no longer lay on my stomach.

I had my OB appointment but no u/s as scheduled since they were able to see all organs and all looked good at my last u/s. They did go ahead and schedule me for the glucose test in 5 weeks...not looking forward to it at all!

I am also feeling the baby move everyday now. He is most active after breakfast and dinner. DH is a little dissappointed that he can't feel the movement yet but I hope that will be just a couple of more weeks from now.

Elisa-I am green with jealousy over here, but excited about you feeling movement everyday, must be super reassuring huh?

Alana-I am not sleeping at all...between getting anxious about ending up on my back to just not getting comfy I cannot sleep. Maybe some of your gas is actually movement and you just don't know it! I'm still not 100% sure it is actually movement but I think it might be! Everyone keeps telling me it's too early but I think it all depends on the woman and the baby. Honestly I am super intimidated about buying most everything, car seat, stroller, crib, bottles, etc. It's just overwhelming and confusing. I think I will let DH research like he loves to do and let him give me his suggestions.

Anyone else have a hard time focusing and remembering things? I literally went to do the same thing at work today 4 times, and still didn't end up doing it, my assistant had to do it for me because I couldn't focus long enough to do it! And little things are starting to stress me out, I cannot wait until the summer when I can lock myself up in my house and do nothing! I really need this vacation!!!!

Sarah- I am having a hard time focusing too. I just got finished doing report cards for my kindergarteners and I am afraid about how may mistakes I made. I will get the hard copies tomorrow and will have to proof them to go out on Friday.
As far as things bothering me.....I have to watch that I do not snap at my kindergarteners. Little things seem to send me over the edge lately.

I don't know what I was thinking but I volunteered to watch my 4 nieces and nephews for my sister on Saturday so she can celebrate her anniversary with her DH. Luckly DH will be with me to help!

Have fun on your vacation. Where at in North Carolina are going??? My brother lives close to Raleigh.

It looks like we have the same day, I know we were on the same day before...did you just change yours? I will be going to Iron Station, near Gastonia, I think it's south or north of Charlotte...and I know what you mean about the snapping thing...but this time of year the kids are getting a little crazy to begin with, I am dealing with a lot of regression and even though I know to expect it my hormones make me super short and less patient than usual. Have you told your students yet? I have been contemplating when I should tell them....good luck with the neices and nephews! That can sometimes be harder than a classroom full of 5 year olds!

Ok ladies off to bed...I have a very looooong day ahead of me tomorrow!

Sarah, have a great vacation!!

I am having a really hard time focusing and remembering things. Poor DH. He is a very smart man and then there is me...these days I feel like a flake! I have so many things running through my mind. At least I can laugh about it but sometimes I feel like crying.

Tomorrow I meet with my doctors associate doctor. I will be seeing her as well. I finally got an appointment for my big u/s on Apr 22 then on May 1 I have an appointment with my perinatologist to discuss it. (long story...insurance issue, I have to get this one done at my reg OB's clinic) I am looking forward to seeing the babies again. I worry everyday about them. I can't wait until I know for sure I can feel them. I do have lots of feelings now, but it is hard to tell if it is baby or something else moving.

I know I have felt them ''for sure' a couple of times. This afternoon I had a really odd, almost uncomfortable feeling around my belly button.

Yes, it is nice to be able to think of preparing for the baby rather than worry if there will be a baby

HI everyone. It looks everybodys super busy. I too am having a lot of focusing and snapping issues. I feel pretty bad for my family right now. My husband says he must be practicing for the baby crying when we have to tell him no.

Me ob appointment went well hb 153 or 158 I can't remember. The doc says he must have been moving alot. I have my u/s May 1st but a friend is going to try to give me an u/s at her work this week and tape it for me. Im super excited.

I haven't really started looking at the store to much for babystuff but then again I haven't really had much time to shop lately. Things should slow down a little after april 19th at least on the weekends if not during the week.

You guys really need to get the prego pillow it has helped me sleep from about 8 weeks with my ligament problems I had trouble sleeping early on. The only problem I had was learning to get out of it fast. I may not give it up after the baby gets here!

Katrina-that is weird...i know we were on the same day...and now it's a day ahead, when I posted last night we both had the same day...odd!

Larklynn-I have been debating if I should get one or not...where did you get yours? Some of them are super expensive but if it means a good nights sleep without a backache in the morning I will spend all sorts of money! How cool that you have a friend who can do that for you....and the video is so neat, my u/s tech does one every time we go and it is just soooo neat!

Sarah- I didn't change my ticker..oh well just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy. I have not told my kids yet. I was going to wait until on of them say something to me about it. I have one little girl that has been eyeing up my belly for the past week and a half, so I am pretty sure she will be saying something soon. The other thing is that I have parent volunteers come in my classroom on a weekly basis. So I am pretty sure that the parents will start asking soon. You will have to let me know how it going when you decide to tell your kiddos! Have a great vacation!

Today I met with another doctor who works with my doctor. We will be seeing her as well. She has a great personality, we got along with her great! We were originally told that the appointment was just to talk to the doctor but when we got there we were told that everytime we go we will have an u/s. Yipppeee!!

The babies were moving around so much she could not get a good picture. She was giggling they were moving so much and commented on their healthy looking spines and long legs. The neat thing is that I have been having feelings and have wondered if they were the babies moving. Well, today I felt them and saw the babies moving. It was so cool. Before we went for the appointment I drank a big milkshake. I guess the babies got really excited about that and began to dance!! LOL

Here is a blury picture of baby boy B looking down ~ showing off his lovely spine
