Thanks girls, you made me feel so much better. I think I'll try to forget what my family doctor said and wait to hear what the OB says on Monday. Next time I'm not going to let the GP examine me at all, she just says stupid stuff. I know I'm still quite small but I'm also only just 4 months, I still have 5 more to go!!

Ebru, welcome back hun. I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed your trip. It must be nice to be back home though. Whens your anatomy/gender scan scheduled?

Sarah and Christine...my acne isn't on my face...its on my boobs! I know, kinda embarrassing. I guess at least only me or DH can see it, but its now spreading to my back area which is going to be seen by people. I'm just going to have to fry them off in the sun or something! Oh and Sarah yes the heartbeat does sound different. I can hear the actual sound of the blood pumping etc. It sounds just like mine only faster. Have you felt anymore flutters yet? I still haven't felt anything yet, but I'm wondering when I go for the u/s in a week or two if they can see where the placenta is located. I've heard it can cushion the kicks if its in front of the baby.

Shelley, I know nothing about breast pumps either. lol. I guess its going to be alot of figuring it out as we go along. The good thing is babies couldn't care less if we know what we are doing, just as long as they are fed and loved. Now that I know I can manage.

Amy, thanks for telling me your name hun. I'm such a ditzy blonde these days (clutzy too for you other girls going through that) that I'm sure you already told us and here I was calling you Larklynn. My other thing these days is forgetting mid sentence what I'm saying. Its happening all the time. I definately have preggo brain!

Alana-I'm with the rest of the girls...I wouldn't pay attention to what your GP said. I'm sure the baby is perfectly fine. I hope the rest of the days go by quick for you so that you can get the reassurance you need from your OB on Monday. I know that "not worrying in the meantime" is alot easier said than done.

Amy- I read one of your post where you mentioned thyroid meds, you may have mentioned it to me before in our December Cycle thread but are you hypo or hyper? At my last OB appt, the nurse practioner scared me by telling me my levels were "very high" and in other words that I should be very concerned. Her words definitly had me so worried that I broke down in tears! My Ob then came in the room and told me not to worry that my levels really weren't much higher than the last and that during the 1st trimester levels are usually higher than normal due to the pregnancy. Anywho, I recently saw my endo and he told me to make sure I ask my OB is they were able to see the baby's thyroid during the anatomy scan and if not that he recommends checking it if possible just to make sure it hasn't passed to the baby.

Jill-I noticed on your signature that you had a gender scan scheduled today. How did that go? Hope baby cooperated if you weren't wanting to keep it a surprise!

Charms-As for forgetting me on the gender list-No Worries!! I'm in the same boat, I laughed at myself the other day because I got into my car, heading for work, and put my car in reverse, I had forgotten something so I put my car back in drive and went back into the house, okay I know thats not funny but when I did it for the 3rd time it was!! I can just picture that as a commercial to laugh at!!

As for the classes- I think Babies R Us offers different classes from breast feeding to nursery ideas, usually on Saturday's and I know the hospitals offer some of them too!

Charms- no worries my mom usually means well thank you very much for the tips I will write that down.

Shelley- you will be and are already doing a great job at being a mommy. They discovered the GD at around 12 weeks I think. My dr. had them check ealrly because I had it with Jacob.

Elisa- Im hypo I have been since I was about 9. My dr. keeps up with it pretty well while I am pg. and they check the baby normally when they are born but I will ask them about it when I go in for my next u/s.

Alana- LOL no problem Im lucky to know my own name half the time.
emajoo- thanks so much!
I have the major drops half my food ends up on me.

I posted on a different thread, but we found out that we're having a GIRL!!!!! We are so thrilled!

Also, because I was borderline GD when preggo w/my daughter, my OB wants me to do another 1-hour glucose test in 2 weeks & then another when I'm 28 weeks. I guess he doesn't want to take any chances. But I'll eventually have to do the 3-hour test. My daughter was a big baby & chances are this one will be big too. My DH & I are tall so it doesn't surprise me!

Alana - I do the same thing when I talking - can't seem to collect my thoughts! But my friends & family are used to it & laugh @ me! I have to start writing things down, esp. when I have my OB appts. I forgot to ask a few questions yesterday & now it's driving me crazy!

Jill...congratulations on the little girl hun! Wow how exciting, I'm so happy to be here sharing in this journey with you.

Sarah, thanks for doing the list hun, but I don't think my scan will be on the Monday. I'm just seeing the OB who will be booking me for the scan a few days later. I'm hoping to get in about Thurs/Fri next week but it might be later. I'm so impatient though...I don't care as much about the sex now as I do checking they are growing okay in there. I'm still sooooooo nervous!

Thanks again girls for the words of encouragement. I really hate it when GP's lump us all into the one category and expect us to all be the same. Maybe I do carry low...is that so strange? Anyway, DH phoned again and said we will get the OB to do a thorough check-up on Monday and get her to check the cervix again. I'll be so happy to have him back after this. I feel bad he has to leave his mother back in the UK after the surgery, but she has lots of family around. I think my worried self actually needs him more at the moment. Yikes...I'm becoming one of those needy preggers women. lol

Jill- Congratulations on your baby girl! How amazing! Having two girls is great. I can speak for me and my sister. I can't imagine my life without her. I miss her even more than I miss my parents (she lives in Istanbul). So sisters rock!

Sarah- I can't believe my scan is on your birthday. When your blowing your candles, make a side wish that I have a healthy baby. I'm more worried on the anatomy part than the gender part. If I had the option for an earlier date, I would take it too Actually I did have that option but DH could only make it ona a Friday so...

Alana- Thanks for the warm welcome! I am happy to be back home. Although it was really nice and warm over there with flowers already blooming all over. I had a great time and enjoyed all the attention

I got that Baby Bargains book. It's really great. I will look at it in more detail over the weekend. I also got a book called "Expecting Money" about how to financially prepare for the baby, tools for a budget, etc. When I have a chance to examine it more closely, I'll let you all know if it's good.

It has finally warmed up in Chicago after a nasty winter. So I can't wait to get out of the office and enjoy the weather.

Ebru- I will make a wish for your baby! But I am sure all is fine. We can count down the days together! Last time before my last appt. I was so impatient and felt like the days were dragging, thank goodness we had vacation to deal with and I will be going to a conference a week after I get back, and doing interviews to find a new assistant, so the time will hopefully fly by!

Alana-when you had pressure did you feel it all the time or just sometimes? I have this slight pressure in the lower area of my uterus and not sure if it is just stretching or something to be concerned about, I have never had it before so I am not sure.

DH and I went panning for gold in this gold mine here in NC, and we found two little bits...I think DH main goal on this trip is to strike it rich so we can pay for this baby, lol! But we got to walk in an actual mine and let me tell you I felt it...still feeling it! The more I walk the more pain I feel, so I guess I should only do short ones for now. I am starting to get homesick and can't wait for Saturday to come, but also am not looking forward to the trip back, and hope we don't get stuck in traffic again, that was a nightmare!!! Sorry for the long post but I am feeling super chatty, actually I am naturally super chatty =)

Lol...Sarah I'm chatty too. We would make a great pair in person.

As for the pressure, its definately low down like what you described and I tend to notice it more in the evenings. I'm not sure what it is which is why my OB has me being tested for a UTI and then a cervix check on Monday. Although if you are getting it too I guess maybe its just normal growth? I hope so, its very scary.

My mean sister just sent me a bunch more photos of them all enjoying the sun in New Zealand. I miss them all so much right now but theres no way I would risk flying almost 30 hours to see them. I'd be sooooo paranoid the entire flight that something would go wrong with the baby. Its frustrating being this distant from family though. I guess Ebru you know what I mean. Thats why its so great to have you girls to talk to, I don't feel so alone with all of you.

Sorry Katrina...I knew we were missing people...and in the back of my head I knew the girls were out numbering the boys...gotta love preggo brain

Alana-hmmmm...now it makes me worry a bit...but hopefully it is just our growing pains. Mine seems to have gone away but we will see if it comes back. I am also feeling a bit gassy too so I wonder if that is part of it but it is different from my gassy feelings from before...ugh this who preggo thing makes me a nervous wreck! My cervical mucus was different today, there was more than usual and kinda watery (sorry if tmi) and it freaked me out, well I am back to normal now but it still made me paranoid...I am actually doing to doppler to make myself feel better!

I went shopping tonight looking for some tops and possibly a dress for the two summer weddings I have to go to, and OMG!!! I looked sooooo pregnant in them and my boobs did not fit in anything! I seriously did not believe DH when he kept saying I really look pregnant until then, wow!

Alana, try not to worry about your size. My SIL remained quite thin during her pregnancy. In the end she just had this bump that went straight out!! She had a healthy baby boy weighing almost 8 lbs!!! The baby will take what it needs from you. I am not as far away from family as you are but still 2000 miles is a long way for me. I miss my brother so much and it will be awhile before we all can go to Canada to see him and his family. Both my parents have passed away and I am really missing them especially now that I am pregnant

Jill, congratulations on your little girl!!! How wonderful.

Amy, I did take a look at that pack n play but it will not work for triplets. I am thinking about getting an arms reach co-sleeper, if the little ones are ok with sleeping together for a couple of months. They have a big version. It also turns into a little pack n play. About Us : Arm's Reach®, Co-sleeping Aids for your newborn

I have been having a lot of pressure down low too. It happens later in the day. Yesterday I stayed home and rested on the couch for most of the day and I felt fine. I think it has to do with standing up, for a long period of time. I have my big u/s on Tuesday and then a follow up appt with my doctor on May 1. I am sure I will be told to limit my activities. I am hoping if I take it easy I can avoid complete bed rest!! I have a hard time sitting still, it drives me CRAZY!!! I am really curious if my cervix has shortened?? Do you actuall have to feel contrations for it to shorten?

I have had 3 days of feeling quite uncomfortable. It actually scared me a bit. No sharp pains, just lots of pressure and an achy tummy and some odd feelings that were new. Today I went and bought another top and I was amazed, almost shocked, at how pregnant I looked!! When DH got home from work he commented on how much bigger my bump has gotten. I am sure after all those feelings I experienced it popped out. I have gained 30 lbs now!! Heck no wonder I am feeling sluggish!

Yeah, I am chatty too It is so nice to chat with others who understand.
