Shelly - i have had quite a bit of pressure too, but after looking at the date, i realized this is the time for the big growth spurt to occur - between wk 18-20....i am more worried that i will go to the potty and see that brown mucus again.

i have another appt tomorrow - maybe they will do an u/s just for fun, i doubt it but it doesnt hurt to ask when the next one will be scheduled.

we'll be putting the furniture up this weekend and starting on the room.

Christine, have fun at your appt tomorrow!! Hopefully you will get to see your little surprise! We have construction people redoing the nursery closet and hopefully they will be done tomorrow. Then we will paint the room and put the cribs and change table in it. I hope to get some bedding this weekend. We are not doing any extreme decorating because basically you won't see much of the walls, just cribs!!

Every day I pray this pregnancy will continue to go smoothly. After my big u/s next week I will feel better.

Shelley the cosleeper sounds neat. Now if I could only get my 7 year old back to his own bed.... This summer we are really going to work on it. Have fun with the nursery this weekend

Christine. This GD thing is frusterating me to no end I feel like the harder I try the more things dont work out. Since they put me on that pill my numbers are running higher and I am sticking to my diet Im just not sure what is going on.

I am getting another u/s done this sunday for a double check on having a girl my friend still wants another picture and then I have one on May 1st with the dr.

Christine-I am soooo sorry, I should have added one of those, how horrible and I?...maybe in the back of my mind I am still hoping you find out, lol! What a patient lady you are!

So I was talking with my SIL last night and she said, "Did you ever think we would be here 10 years ago?" and I was like in NC, not really but (I was a little confused, thanks preggo brain) and what she really meant was living where we do, married to who we were married to, etc. And I never in a million years would have thought at 15, I would be living in the same town I couldn't wait to get out of, married to a man I knew in highschool but didn't even really like, and waiting for a little baby to make his or her appearance in September. Odd how things turn out and it's true with my whole IF journey, I never really believed I would be here, I know I should say that I always knew someday I would be pregnant, but I really didn't, I hoped, I prayed, but because I knew at 17 I would have trouble getting pregnant I knew even with modern medicine and different opportunities there might be a chance I never got pregnant...so I guess last night is the first time I felt truley pregnant and blessed because of it, and I am making it my new goal to just be happy, no matter what happens, this is truley a miracle for me and it's about darn time I embraced it....anyway just babbling but that question from SIL really got me thinking. Oh and thanks to preggo brain I now am horrible at games, we played Yatzee last night and I usually kick but, I was the looser ever single time! SIL is a game addict so we have been playing all week and I have been loosing all week...not very happy over here! WEll here is the updated list, if I am missing anyone let me know. I have that low pressure too & was a little concerned. I didn't have this with my daughter - actually it's an entirely different pregnancy. But I asked the doc @ my u/s if everything was ok, he said everything is great. Then I saw my OB shortly after the u/s & asked him the same thing. He felt my belly & said the baby is fine & it's just the bottom of my uterus stretching & the baby is starting to stretch & move above my belly button. But I know what you all mean. And for me its walking up & down stairs that I notice it the most. Or just overdoing anything - housework, etc.

Christine - I think you're right, it's most likely a growth spurt - which makes sense & pretty much what my OB meant.

Ebru - I totally know what you mean - I have 2 sisters & we're pretty close, although 1 lives in Cali & the other lives in Fla. But we talk, text & e-mail all the time. I talk to my 2 brothers probably just as much.

Sarah - my preggo brain is getting worse too! When I help my 5 year old with her PRE-K homework (she gets a packet of homework every week), on 1 page last week & just sat there staring @ it & couldn't figure it out! My 5 year old had to tell me!! Seriously, how bad is that?! It just wouldn't register! Her teacher was laughing at me, but I've known her for a few years now.

I'm pretty big too. I feel like every other day my belly grows overnight! Definitely can't button anything over my boobs! My DH just laughs, but he can't believe how big I'm getting. With my DD I wasn't showing much until mid 5 months preggo. You show sooner with 2nd baby.

BTW, where are you ladies looking for your baby bedding? I'm not really one for specific themes, just coordinated girly stuff. But I can't decide on anything. Any ideas?? I need to find some nice appliques & custom stencils. No real artistic talent here.

Ok ladies, quick question for you...so I called my OB today because I had egg white type cervical mucus with a slight tinge to it, kind of more cloudy than tinged...so I was a little worried...well my nurse said it doesn't sound like anything to really worry about but if I wanted to come in to get a heartrate check (i told her i was in NC and when I checked the rate last night it was in the 140s and sounded good) so she said if it continued then I could get in to see the doctor sometime next week....so should I be paranoid, exact words out of DH's mouth, or is this pretty normal? Everything that I have read has always said anything with a color to it was something to tell your doctor...it has no odor, no real pain when I go to the bathroom, but still with the pressure I had the other day and this and the increase in mucus the previous two days I wonder if anything is wrong...so do you ladies think I am being "paranoid" or is this a sign of something? Well I am going to take my paranoid self to the couch to relax and try and not stress....gosh can you believe he called me paranoid? It almost made me cry!

Amy - how soon do they want you testing your sugars after you eat? how high are you getting?

it could be the types of carbs you are eating....what time are you taking the glyburide?

typically if you are testing your blood sugar - it should be 2 hours after your last bite of food.

Today's appt went great - quick - we are scheduled may 9 to see the baby again and get an echo done and hopefully get the measurements of the heart, valves, and other organs they couldnt see last time.....i love getting to see the baby!

Sarah, I honestly do not know what to say about the mucus. It is a good thing that you did get a hold of your doctor. If they told you not to worry that is great. I have heard that a certain amount of mucus is normal in pregnancy. You are definitely blessed and it is great that you are beginning to enjoy your pregnancy. I really never thought this would happen to me either so it has taken me a long time to accept that it really is happening.

Christine that is wonderful that you appointment went well. Do you or anyone know what I should expect for my u/s this Tuesday. It is one where they take all the measurements (that is all I am told). I am a bit scared of it because it sounds like a thorough scan. Would it be the same type of u/s that you have coming up where they look at the heart and organs?

I have look all over, both in stores and on the internet for bedding. I won't be using the bumpers so I wanted to find a place where I could buy the items separately. I wanted to get something cute and not just plain colored sheets and dust ruffle. I was really trying to figure out how to do this on a small budget. I heard that the comforters and bumpers are a waste because the bumpers are a safety hazard and babies can't sleep with blankets, so all you really need is a bottom sheet. It was giving me a headache so DH told me to buy the ones we thought were cute and not worry about the money, the comforters can be put on the floor for the babies to play on during the day or used in other ways.

So it looks like we might be going all out with sets. The girl will get something girly and the boys will have different sets. Tommorow we are going to Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory). We picked a couple sets out online and I called the store. so we are going to look for it in person. Welcome to Baby Depot - Bedding

For the girl we will get some pink and green bedding. Hopefully by adding the green it will work with the boys!

Baby Bedding, Crib Bedding, Baby Nursery Room Cribs & Crib Sets also has some nice sets. The only problem with ordering them online is that it is hard to tell the true color and texture!

Shelley - basically my 18wk u/s was just to measure the skull, the limbs, the heart, the values, the organs, etc....only the baby was not cooperating - so we get to do it again with the echo.
not a big deal, it was fun through, dont be overly concerned if the tech doesnt do a lot of talking and then has the perintologist come in and do another check see.....it is normal procedure for this type of scan.

Shelley, I didn't even think about Baby Depot - Thanks!! We have 1 about 20 min. away. Also, @ my appt. the tech took measurements of every part of the baby - limbs, stomach, head - she also pointed out the kidneys, umbilical cord & a few other things & they also focus in on the baby's head/brain. Then they changed the screen to color & were able to measure the baby's weight & I believe amniotic fluid. It went so fast, I leave not being able to remember everything they said! Then the doc came in to take a look. So far my baby girl weighs 12 oz.!

I have another growth u/s in 3 weeks.

Christine- I take the meds with my night time snack. The weirdest part is I can eat the exact same snack and have to majorly different readings on different days. yogurt and 1/2 pb sandw. for breakfast and one day get 97 and the next day 137. Glad to hear you appoint ment went well.

Shelley Im going to look at your bedding after I post Im sure it is cool. I think that is the rainforest bedding I had liked for a boy.

Hi larklynn...I was reading that you have GD. I have it too...I failed the one hour glucose at 12 week appointment. Did you have GD with your other pregnancies? I had it with my first...so I kinda knew I would get it again. I've never had to do meds...just proper diet. So far the highest blood sugar I have had is 107 after two hours. What are your fasting numbers in the morning? What do you eat that is sugar free? I like to get recipes from people!

Well today or I guess yesterday by now... we went to Baby Depot and bought our crib bedding. It was pretty exciting to get it done. Somehow it made it all seem real. Hopefully we did not do it too soon but I am worried that eventually I may be put on bed rest and not able to go out shopping. As it was, the trip took longer than the 30 minutes the doctor told me I should be on my feet. I was pretty tired after the day so I went to bed early and now I find myself awake in the middle of the night

We still have to paint the room and pick out some closet organizers so I don't have any pictures of the actually nursery. My DH did set up a crib in the room though and we put a set on just for fun These pictures do not do the bedding any justice. I couldn't even find one that showed what the lady bug one really looks like....but of course I have to show ou anyways In person, the colors are much more vibrant and fun, especially the lady bug set. Online I would never have picked it out but when we saw it at the store, it was so beautiful. The green matches the boys set and the fabric is very soft and textured. We also got the changing table to match the cribs and are still looking for a dresser.
