Hi girls. Thanks for thinking of me today...however today was unfortunately just a regular OB appointment and to make plans for the gender scan. Its next week friday (May 2) however we won't get the results on the day as theres some stupid policy that the radiologist has to review them first and then they send them off to the doctor who calls and tells us. Its a frustrating process...so we won't find out for another couple of weeks. I'll still be buying the green and yellow for a bit longer. (Shelly I loved the 'bottoms up' pic too. Can you save it for next week maybe? )

Other than that the appointment went well. After the awful comments I got from my GP I went there today feeling very very worried. DH came with me and told the OB what she'd said. The OB just grimaced and said she has so many problems with family doctors scaring pregnant women. Anyway, she checked my uterus and not only is it not too low...its actually above my belly-button now and is measuring a week ahead! What a relief that was! The heartbeat was nice and strong too and the OB said everything looks perfect. We were soooooo relieved!

Needless to say, don't listen to anything your family doctor tells you while pregnant. They have no idea and should stick to what they know!

Oh...and I LOVE the bedding you girls have all picked out. Katrina, we are doing circles too. We have had a packet of brown, blue and striped circle stickers for ages now that we will put on the wall as soon as we know the gender. (the stripes have pink in them, which we obviously won't use if BB has a hotdog. hehe). I adore the ladybug themes too. You girls are going to have some amazing nurseries, I can't wait to see pics.

Sarah...I have read Belly Laughs. Shes too funny. I was laughing so hard about her fear of pooping when she gives birth. Thats one of mine!! I'll have to mention this to the OB oneday and see what she says. I'm sure they've seen it all...I'm just so squeamish about things like that. Especially when its me. I'll be sooooo mortified if it happens.

Alana, that is such great news that the baby is doing well and growing strong ~ and ahead of schedule!! Good work Mommy!! The suspense is really building to find out what you are having. Do you have any feelings either way? I am guessing a girl. That is crazy that they can't tell you right away.

Tomorrow I have a big anatomy scan where they do all the measurements. It will be done by a tech and then I won't get to talk to my doctor until May 1. I hope I get some results tomorrow!!

Alana- Is this the u/s where they are checking the baby's anatomy? I'm wondering if the tech could at least tell you girl or boy...still leaving the anatomy/ measurements for the Dr to discuss with you.

When we had our u/s the tech only pointed out the body parts to us and told us it was a boy but my OB is the one who went over the results as far as measurements. So hopefully that will be the case for you as well.

As for the guess....I'm guessing a BOY for you and DH!!

Shelley & Christine-wanna come to my house and do my nursery? We have sooo much to do, we have to rip out the carpet, either replace it or refinish the floor, DH wants to redo the molding around everything, build built-ins in the closet, paint, decorate, oh yeah and someday we need to actually buy the furniture to go in it...we are such procrastinators! Can't wait for you girls to post pictures of the finished product!!!

Elisa-it is pretty bad isn't it? I had to sit in on interviews today and had the questions written out in front of me and I still could not get them out coherently...and honestly I cannot spell worth beans at this point! And I feel better that I am not the only one that hasn't gotten anything for the nursery...I feel like I will jinx myself, then again I use the excuse that I want to know what the sex is first =)

Alana-how did it go today??? I am soooo excited to find out...did you get to get an u/s or do you have to wait??

Ok I totally missed a whole page of the posts...Yaaaay Alana for the good news!! See I told you those GPs don't know beans!!! Glad to hear it went so well...I think you should just ask the u/s tech to tell you her/his guess...how horrible to make you wait!! I haven't gotten to that point in the book but hope to finish it tonight...but she is too funny!

Ugh - Alana - your scan is on my Birthday!!!!
just remember if you can see 3 lines, it is a girl, if you see two and a glob between it is definatley a boy! maybe they will at least let you see the baby while the do the scan.

i am exhausted from work today - as i have still been working and it is well past 9PM here!

Aedyn is getting to be a very hungry baby - i cant help eating every few hours or so!!! and when i wake up i am ravished!!!!!

Alana- Im glad your appointment went well. Your next u/s is the day after my u/s and dr. apt. (actually at the dr. office) but I see my dr. right after.

Shelley- Good look at you scan today!!! Im sure evertying will look great.

Sarah and Shelley- Thanks that is the set I'm leaning towards it stinks that it is online only though.

Charms- of course she is hungry she is burning all that energy wiggling and floating! Are the movements getting strong now?

Christine, you'll be pleased to know my u/s appointment has been moved to the Thursday 1 May now as DH is going to be in LA on the 2nd. Although having it on your b'day might have given me luck. I hope they will at least tell us the sex...but the OB warned me they are very cagey about it. So DH said hes going to be looking very hard to figure it out himself. I hope its a clear picture.

Elisa and Shelley, you girls think a boy and girl respectively. I on the other hand have no idea. DH thinks boy, his sister thinks girl, I think both! hehe. I tried the ring test where you dangle it above your belly and it showed it was a girl. I guess we'll have to wait...either that or put a wager on it!

Sarah, you were so right about the family doctor thing. I'm going to listen to you from now on...not my silly GP. You girls know so much more than they do!

Alana - i would lean toward boy for you - now that i am looking at the hb....however what was your first beta and what dpo was it - - this could give us better guessing data!

Shelley - cant wait to see the babies!!!have fun today.

Christine, it was 79 at 11dpo. The heartbeat has always been pretty high, I think now though its around 157. Does that indicate boy?

Oh...I also forgot to say...I felt the baby yesterday!! I was sitting at the computer feeling sad as MIL hasn't been doing very well, when I started feeling this tickling from inside. Then these light little pokes and then they fluttered around in there for about half an hour.

It was soooo amazing!

Alana...that is awesome that you felt your baby..isn't it an amazing feeling?

Good news: I had my 16 wk appointment today and my OB said I could have my ultrasound/gender scan in 2 weeks. I am SO happy! My ultrasound is scheduled for May 8th!!

Wahooo Alana!!! How exciting!!! Your little one was quite active...maybe it was supposed to be a pick me up to make you feel better!

Shelley-how did the scan go?? Hope everything went well!

Christine-yeah I am with ya on the eating...I literally eat dinner or lunch and 10 minutes later I am hungry again...it drives DH crazy!

I still have yet to feel the baby, or at least know that it is truley the baby, so I am waiting patiently for that little poke! I know he or she is moving in there because when I doppler I hear it and it also feels odd when I hear it because it feels like I can feel the movement...two more weeks until the gender scan!!! The time is actually not dragging as much as I thought!

Sarah I had no idea it was the baby either. I think I have felt it a couple of times before yesterday only didn't know what it was. I probably won't feel it again for a couple of weeks now as its very erratic. Still, it was great while it lasted, and it was lighter then I thought it would be. I bet you are feeling them and just don't realize it. Its almost like gas bubbles or a feather. Very very light.

Oh, and I just had lunch with a girlfriend and we bumped into a bunch of girls we went to design school with...and they all noticed I was pregnant! Guess I'm not as small as I had thought. I have noticed the bump is getting a bit higher now. Before it was lower and pointier, now its more under my chest. Oh, they also commented on how big my boobs have got! Lol, anyone else gone up a cup size or two?? I was a B, I'm now almost into a D cup. DH is loving it!
