Sarah I would guess your little one just likes lying on a certain side or your uterus maybe? I know many people hear the heartbeat to one side or the other. In fact this morning (yep, I'm a doppler addict too! lol) they were obviously sleeping in the middle (hb was in 120's) until DH poked my stomach a bit and next minute they were gone...and I found them on the right side with a hb of 157! DH felt a wee bit guilty about that for waking them up. I thought it was hysterical.

My DH says that our child will come out paranoid because I bug him too much...but it is so reassuring to hear that little sound...and must be he or she just likes my left side...maybe it's warmer or something, lol! I was getting lower numbers too lately, especially on Saturday when we stopped off at a hotel so I pushed the doppler around until I heard him move and my DH said that wasn't very nice of me...but I like to hear that sound too! I keep telling myself I need to send it back but can't bring myself to do it!

I finally figured out how to get a picture by my profile name! That is my little guy when he was 6 months old.

Sarah...you will feel your little one soon! With my first pregnancy I didn't feel him until my ultrasound at 20 wks. Maybe it was b/c she was pushing so hard on my stomach, but from that day on I felt him all the time. I wish I had a doppler...I would be totally obsessed with it though.

Tracy, your little boy is really adorable!!

It is going to be so exciting to find out what everyone else is having. I am so bad at guessing. I have no theories, only gut instincts

Ebru, I am a very visual person too and it was hard for me to get through the u/s without seeing the babies until the end. Finally DH said, can you let my wife hear the heartbeats, she is a bit worried. He's has been with me for all my u/s which has been comforting.

I think it is normal for the baby to be on one side or the other. My baby boy C is near my hip bone. The u/s tech had a hard time getting to him. I also had been experiencing feelings in that area but had no idea it was a baby!! It must be so cool to be pregnant for the second time because you would know what the baby feels like and it wouldn't be such a guessing game.

Oh my gosh, did I just say get/be pregnant again?? It must be bed time - I'm delirious!

Shelley..thank you. We think he's pretty cute too! I am so sad for you that they wouldn't let you see until the end Feeling the baby the second time around is SO much easier. I started feeling this one at 13 weeks. Before we all know it, we will be laying in bed and our babies will be kicking our husbands in the back...haha. That is a fun experience! With my first, I sometimes couldn't even sleep b/c right when I would lay down, he would decide it was time to play soccer!

Tracy your son is adorable. Like Shelley said, I too wish sometimes that I've been preganant before. I wouldn't be panicking so much then.
For the last 3 days I feel like I lost my symptoms and I'm freaking out about it. I didn't really feel the baby and I don't feel the discomfort I normally feel. The discharge I have been experiencing also kinda stoppped or is very rare now. I dont' know what to think. I'm probably imagining all this but I can hardly stop myself from getting one of those doppler you all enjoy so much. I'm really wishing that I had one right now. While these are valid reasons to freak out and you ladies would understand, I don't think my doctor will take me seriously and agree to see me. Sigh... I should just calm down. I have to run to a meeting. Have a great day ladies!

Ebru-call your doc and just ask him or her to do a quick heartbeat check...my nurse just offered me one when I was having different discharge than normal...but I told her I didn't need it because I had already checked on my own. But I have lost some of my symptoms too...but then others have come back with a vengance.

Ebru I'm the same, my symptoms pretty much went away after 14 weeks. They do say the second trimester is the honeymoon period of pregnancy. We aren't too big to be uncomfortable, but we do start to get bumps. The sickness usually goes and other than for fetal movement or dopplers we wouldn't really know we were pregnant at all. I do recommend a doppler though as it really does give you huge peace of mind. All I do when I'm having a panicky moment is pull it out and listen to that little heartbeat for a few seconds and I calm down instantly. Personally I think they should make them mandatory...calm mama means calm baby after all.

I've been chuckling all day with BB's movements. They are so light they tickle more than anything and they were tickling just at my belly-button while I was sitting in class today. I must have had this huge goofy smile on my face the whole time. Most days though its still to light to notice, but when I do its so reassuring. Especially as I've been noticing the same thing with the heart-rate Sarah, that its quite low alot of the time. But then I also read somewhere that the baby will sleep for up to 95% of the time and the movement we feel is reflexive actions they do all day and night. I hope that explains it at least, I get nervous when its low. But then...I guess its better than too high??

Wow, what a day. My son got four staples in his head after falling and hitting it on the corner of the wall. This was our second trip like this. He got one stitch last year after pulling a flower pot over on his head. WHAT A BOY!! I think I handled it pretty well, b/c last time there was that much blood I RAN to the back room screaming!

So, all of that to say, that the worrying NEVER stops. The doctor said we have to watch him over the next twelve hours to see if his behavior changes. Scary.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

OMG I'm so sorry to hear about your son! Moms can be so calm and cool at times like these it always amazes me. I hope he gets better soon. He's a sweetie!
Sarah, Alana - So after all the resistance, I finally ordered a doppler today . They already shipped it, I can't believe it. So I"m all excited now. I got one called Hi Bebe mainly because it had great reviews on Amazon and was so much cheaper than the others. Most of them should work fine at this point anyway.
You're right, the symptoms are supposed to disappear. Logically, I know that but I just had this awkward feeling like something was wrong. I'm probably just obsessing. I haven't had an ultrasound in 5 weeks so may be that's why I'm freaking out. Also, I just found out that a friend of mine lost her baby. She lives in Spain and this would have been her second baby. She was also due in September. I found out about it last week so that's been on my mind.
Anyways, I had a long day. I have a super busy weekend coming up so I need to get my rest. Wish you all a happy Friday tomorrow!

Hi everyone!

Tracey- the poor baby that is so hard! I had that happen with both my boys right by their eye. Not walls but the corners of speakers and a rocking horse. I hope he is feeling better this morning.

emajoo- Have a great weekend and take it as easy as you can. Im sorry to here about your friends baby I hope she is doing okay.
Alana- thats great you can feel the baby now! My dd keeps trying to feel my belly when I tell her she's moving Jakey just wants to kiss it. Ryan grins.

I went into the dr. on wed. to have a quick check done because of some pains in my pelvis area. He said everything was fine checked my cervix and it was long and closed. Victoria's hb was good. They did discover that my placenta was a little on my cervex and I am not on restriction from lifting and on pelvic rest.

Ebru-I am jealous that you got a doppler. Maybe I will break down and get one too. Maybe if I sell it as a fun family activity every night, my husband would go for it...hehe.

larkynn-I love the name Victoria...that is so pretty. Glad I am not the only mom with an accident prone boy!

My husband and I were dead set on Eliana if it was a girl, but we think we have changed our mind.
Plus, I am sure after all of this contemplation, it will be a boy!
My great grandmother's name was Clara, and I just love that name. We will spell it Claira. My son's name is Fischer, which was a family name on my husband's side...so this baby will be named after someone on my side. If we have a boy, I have NO IDEA.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Victoria is a beautiful name! I love it.
Yes, I broke down and got the doppler. The one I got was not as expensive as some others. I was worried about what my husband would say but I figured he'd have to be okay with it since I already ordered it When I told him last night, he was really excited! He kept asking when it will be here. It'll be fun for sure. I can't wait!

Ebru you will love the doppler, its such a nice way to connect with the baby.

Although I'm having a bit of a panic today and am wondering if I need to phone my doctor about it. There are times when the heartrate seems to be really really slow and then suddenly jumps up. I mean, it almost reads at about 100...which is crazy low. Then it goes back up to the 160's. I'm terrified now the baby has a heart-condition or something. Does anyone know if babies heartrates fluctuate with sleeping/awake cycles etc? This just seems like such a huge difference I'm really scared there will be a problem with their little heart on Thursday when I have the scan.

Why on earth is there always something to worry about? Ebru, did your friend lose her baby in the second trimester? I had a friend have the same thing happen, she was 16 weeks. I'm terrified of that happening too.

Alana, I'm sure the machine is detecting your heartbeat. Remember that at the end of the day, it's an electronic gadget and you can't totally depend on its accuracy. I am confident that many people get way more flutuating numbers than you did. See, this is why I didn't want to get the doppler in the first place.
My friend lost her baby at 13 weeks. I just found out about it last week. She was a few weeks earlier than us. You will not lose your baby, it's not going to happen. Our babies are coming out and they're coming out right on time when they're supposed to See, I'm very positive today .

So let's talk about good stuff. Like strollers. Who looked into them? I've been doing a little research and asking around. People are telling me that even though a little pricey, Bob strollers are really really worth the money. What do you ladies think?
