Sarah, on my two visits for anatomy scans/u/s they were not concerned with discovering genders ( I had to ask), but spent lots of time examining all the systems and did spend time examining heart chambers --I remember as they remarked what great shots they were able to get. Hope this helps!

Shellie, congratulations on a boy and a girl. That is so perfect. How wonderful !!! I am sure you do have a girl in there. It was still a bit questionable if our girl was really a girl until we had our 3D u/s.

Sarah, I am jealous of your massage. It sounds so wonderful!!

Hi ladies,
Sorry I've been quite for a while. We had a very busy weekend and this week started off really crazy. Today I'm exhausted from all the long days and decided to work from home. I love it.

Shellie- What a blessing to have one of each! Congratulations! It will be a joy to raise a boy and a girl together.
Shelley- I love your babies' pictures. How adorable is your daughter. She looks so peaceful cuddled in with her two brothers
Alana- My DH was so jealous to hear that your DH was able to feel the baby. The thing is I don't feel him that much but when I do, he's not around. He's been dying to be able to feel him move but no luck so far.

I'm glad you all had a great mother's day weekend. We went shopping and actually bought a stroller. This one never ever goes on sale and they had a 20% off sale at REI. So we decided to get it since it's a big price difference. Today I noticed that they bumped the pricce even higher than it was before. I'm glad we got it early because this is definitely what I wanted for Chicago winters.

BOB Revolution Stroller from REI.com

We also went to Ikea and checked out the furniture we liked. They didn't have the crib set up but the armoire and the dresser looked really nice and sturdy. I was very surprised. I never buy furniture at Ikea because they are not solid wood. But I guess they are doing a much better job with their nursery furniture. However, I still couldn't buy it yet and decided to think about it some more.

Here are some pictures from the u/s and me at 20 weeeks. As you can see my boobs are racing with my tummy. Let's see who's going to win

Oh by the way, Sarah, totally agree with you on the massage. Actually, I went to see a chiropractor for the first time in my life. She said that the reson I was having that really bad pain is because my pelvic bones are not aligned. She's specialized in prenatal care. I saw her two times so far and I have absolutely no back pain (I used to beg my husband to rub my back every night) and the pain in my groin is so much better. She also gave me exercises. The best part is they offer massages at the same place and it's covered by my insurance. I had no idea. You should all check to see iff your insurance covers chiropactor and massage in pregnancy. I told my OB about the chiropractor and he said it was a great idea and really helps the baby too.

Ebru, you look so beautiful. You are carrying the baby really well. I know what you mean about the growing boobs. Mine are in competition with my tummy. Some people think I am not showing that much but I say it is because of the growing boobs remaining proportunate to the tummy. LOL

You baby is absolutely too cute for words. They got some really nice pictures. Isn't it amazing to such detail of the little one growing inside you? I just love it

I really like your stroller too. I have been looking at a triple mountain buggy which is simular to that one, except it is really wide and I am afraid it might take up the entire sidewalk!

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I really enjoyed looking at them!!

Ebru-you do look beautiful! Loved looking at your pics.

So, yesterday I was a Wal-mart and this girl asked me how far along I am. First of all, I would NEVER ask anyone that b/c what if they were just big in the tummy! Anyway, I told her when I was due, and she said, "OH MY, are you having twins?"
I guess I am glad that someone recognized I was pregnant and not just fat, but still!!

Ebru thanks for sharing so many photos--very fun to see. You look great! I'm typically lame at seeing much in the ultrasound images, but thought the detail in yours was remarkable. Glad you're feeling better too!

Got me thinking about people asking details of pregnancy. It's interesting the range of responses and perceptions. Some don't notice, others think I'm huge...but everyone has an opinion, that's for sure. I say don't take anything too personally and see it as fun/conjecture. I'm finding it a bit of an adjustment to having a private matter become public, especially the vulnerability as everything is literally out there!! I've put on almost 20 lbs and am carrying low and full--I've been told you can't tell I'm pregnant except when I stand in profile and it's apparent but from waist up and behind same old me, so far. However, I will be putting on up to 45 pounds so we'll see how that goes. I haven't got too much bigger in my chest yet. Isn't it funny how we all have varying symptoms and stages?

I just finished watching a Bringing BAby home show on TLC with twins, which helped me feel it was manageable. I really like those shows, don't know if you watch them. Not as crazy for the birth stories as I really enjoy seeing how people handle the first few days, how they prepared, etc.

Justine-i loooove that show, I am sure I will be watching it non stop this summer!

Ebru-fantastic pictures, it looks like in the first one he is being shy! I am def. going to have to check out to see if my insurance covers that! How cool would that be?! And how cute is your belly!! I really should take a picture and post it, but I just look fat!

I am quickly becoming a doppler addict again! I really try not to use it, but now after my pain last week, my DH has freaked me out! Ugh, I just need to relax! I bet I could if I could have a day off without anything to do! I cant wait til summer when I can just lay around!

Shellie, congratulations on a boy and girl! Wow, as Julia Roberts once said when she had her two...'I'm an over-achiever'. Good work hun, you just created the perfect wee family over there.

Shelley and Ebru, I know what you mean about the boobs. I'm tall and slim and usually only a B cup, however lately people comment on my boob size more than my belly. I even had a teacher at the school I'm studying at laugh as I walked over to her because my breasts were much larger than the bump. My DH likes to stare at them though (not touch....ouch!) and thinks its funny how top heavy I now look. To be honest I don't notice it as much as everyone else. I guess I'm getting used to it.

Sarah, I would love a massage too. I might have to look into that. As for the doppler, since the skipped beats we heard my OB has told me I can't use it as much. I have an echo scheduled in the 24th weeks just to check all is okay...but I'm still worried and keep thinking about using the doppler and having to ignore it. Its torture...I'm such an addict too!

Christine, I wanted to mention about your live-feed for the ultrasound, I tried to link to it but you have to give a credit card etc. Is that standard? I guess I'll just wait for the pictures that I know you will post on here (I know because I'm going to make you post them ). When is it again? I love 3D u/s, its such a wonderful way to bond with them.

Justine and Amy, those people are kinda rude. I hate the way everyone has an opinion on how we look. People have had the same comments on me, only its always that I look too small, wheres the baby etc. Now I'm starting to show a bit more so they don't say it so much...but still...whats up with people?

I bought a crib on the weekend. Its finally up and the bedding I ordered on ebay arrived too. Its so much fun organizing the room, I've also put some sticky dots on the wall to add some shape and color and I'll post a pic of the crib and dots below so you can all see how crazy I'm being...I've still got 4 more months too go and I'm already decorating! lol

Alana,

Totally cool nursery, and masculine too--I like it! I bet knowing the gender helps get the mindset going on selecting decor. We're going to start some looking around, but for real this time, hopefully this weekend when my husband has 3 days off. I'm almost decided on mattresses and cribs...and that's where the panic begins!

Have any of you planned or thought about how you will set up your house for the baby? I mean practically: will you have crib in master bedroom at first? In daytime will you bring baby downstairs, not sleeping in nursery..if so, are you getting a bassinet to carry with you? If nursery is on another floor, then would you use a monitor when you are on a different floor? These are the details that bewitch me lately! One thing I thought of was to put one crib upstairs, one down, and they can both sleep in them at the beginning until I figure out what works. Of course, eventually both cribs will be in nursery. There is that portable playpen with bassinet feature for twins that someone posted awhile back...which I cannot locate now. My thing is I HATE wasting things and am trying to avoid buying items that we will not use or need, especially relevant when you're buying double. I'd love to hear what you're planning.

Alana, the crib and bedding is absolutely gorgeous!

I have my biweekly check up tomorrow. I did the glucose test on Monday and I am hoping they will have the results. I can't wait to see the babies again!!

People say the craziest things. I made a purchase in a store the other day and asked if I could get some to help me carry it to the car because I was not suppose to lift anything heavy and the clerk looked at me and in a snotty way said, yeah I can see that. It bothered me mostly because I really hate asking for help. I don't think she meant to be rude but her tone sure sounded rude.

I have been really emotional lately. I just don't have the energy to do the things I normally do and I am suppose to begin to take it easy and rest a lot. It is very hard for me to do even though I know I have to for the babies. I am also tired of eating and nothing looks good anymore Oh well, it is all part of the process, I guess.
