Me too! Darn, I guess we all still have a bit longer. It will go fast though...it seems like only yesterday we were all chatting about our upcoming NT scans and when the first trimester ended. September is coming very very quickly! I mean, Christine, you are almost 6 months preggers!!

I was just looking at everyones tickers and noticed that our little babies are over half way there, it is kind of odd because I remember like yesterday we were barely 1/3 of the way there! How time flies...I just dread this summer, not only will it be hot and I will be too big to want to do anything but I will have all this free time to just sit and watch my belly grow...well off to force myself to make dinner, anyone else getting sick of cooking and cleaning? I literally could just eat a bowl of cereal and be happy!

Im the same way I have my calendar numbered in weeks! I can't imagine having only 6-9 more weeks to go yet. I know none of us really have that long left and time is really flying. Summer always seems to go be alot faster for me we will see if that holds true this year. LOL we are already planning a vacation for next June...

I have a question for you guys - I think I mentioned a "co-worker" who is pregnant with her 8th who also had a set of twins. Well, she is really starting to get to me. I bought a back harness to see if it would help with my never-ending back pain and yesterday she noticed that I was out of breath after walking across campus to pick something up and continued to harass me about how I would not feel this way if I worked out and did some exercises to strengthen my back. It made me feel like a real baby, for one because I was told not to exercise, not to work out at first and now it is too uncomfortable and two, because I believe that it is pretty normal to be winded and have back pain, especially carrying two. She acts like I am bringing it all on myself. When I mentioned that I may have to go on bedrest she literally started laughing and said that was the most ridiculous thing she ever heard and that it wasn't going to help anything and that I was deteriorating my muscles and making delivery even more difficult!!! I guess I am just looking for some reassurance that these are some symptoms that everyone else is experiencing and that although I may not be the proto-type for popping out babies, I am pretty normal and not being a complete wimp or a detriment to these two? The thing that really sucks about the whole situation is that she is my bosses wife and he thinks all pregnant women should be like his wife - able to care for seven children while pregnant with an eigth and do anything imaginable, like moving, working until all hours, etc. - all of which she has done and which I have told him I just can't do.

fossie - tell her that there are more things that are important to you than getting a little winded. you are following you OB's orders since you are considered a high risk pregnancy and that you are happy she was able to carry 8 children so well
okay - i didnt mean to be sarcastic, but your circumstances are so different than hers and your body is also so different than hers.
i know what it is like to think that everything is okay and then lose a set of twins very unexpectantly.
you do what is right for you and your twins sweetie and you dont have to defend yourself at all to this woman. who is she to you and the twins anyway - just a co-worker of no importance.

Fossie- That is a horrible attitude they have towards you. I completely agree with Christine. Don't let them make you feel like you are less because you can't or don't do what that woman is doing. You follow your dr.'s orders and if you feel the need to rest, rest. How nasty of her to say that about you being put on bed rest. You have to do what is best for you and your babies.

Shellie, sorry you have to put up with a narrow minded person. Do not listen to her. By putting you down she is trying to draw attention to herself, fluff up her feathers (so to speak). There are no medals given for being a tough trooper during pregnancy. The price will be healthy babies and they will be all yours, not hers.

When I found out I was first pregnant with multiples I began reading a book and the first thing it said was to toss out all previous ideas of a normal pregnancy because carrying mulitiples is much different. I could go on and on but I am sure you already know the differences.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to ignore that person (as hard as it may be) and talk to your doctor about when you should begin you time off work. Are you taking early time off?

Shellie-ok so I have one baby and I get winded walking up the steps at my house! And I too have not exercised, if the first trimester I was told not to from my doctor, and in this trimester it is a personal choice, but also physical one, when I do exercise I dont last long and it hurts afterwards, so therefore it is not worth my time. So there you go, if you aren't normal neither am I! And when I get winded most people tell me its normal and happened to them. This woman sounds like she wants some praise and recognition for the fact that she had so many babies...sounds like she wants attention and is willing to put you down and make you feel bad, unnecessarily, just to make herself feel better. DO what your body and doctor tell you and everyone else can just shut up about it! And how insensitive for her to laugh at you over bed rest, I do believe it is proven to help isn't it? Just because she has had a football team of children does not make her more knowledgable than you or your doctor about you and your pregnancy! Wow I am just really ticked off about this, I could go on but I think you are doing an amazing job and be proud of yourself and those two little babies!

I think the baby is feeling my anger because he is moving all over the place now, lol! Anyone getting some seriously painful kicks now? Last night it made me sit up, he kicked so hard and I got a sharp pain near my bladder, he must be in there poking it to get back at me for dopplering so much!

Thanks all - I do know logically that what she says does not matter to me but being a newbie at all of this sometimes you get this inkling of maybe she's right! I have read a ton of books and I trust the opinions in those much more than one person so there you go.

Sarah - too funny, I always feel them move more when I am using the doppler and my dh gets upset with me because he thinks they are telling me to stop! He really thinks I am harrassing them with that thing!!! I tell him to just wait until they get bigger and we can start playing the I push you push back game - then he will really think I am annoying them! When he does the doppler he does it soooo lightly that you can barely hear or feel anything - he thinks I push down too hard - I guess he hasn't been paying attention at our ultrasounds when the techs are literally digging into my belly.

Shellie-my DH is the same way and early on I would get upset and take it back from him because you are only supposed to use it for a certain period of time each time you use it and he was so light and I didn't want to waste the time letting him experiment! I have held off on the doppler a little because I get this horrible image of him flipping around in there and choking himself with the umbilical cord, again this is my irrational brain going crazy but I still can't help but think about it.

I use it pretty much daily but not for too long - just to find them and hear it and then I am done. My irrational panic is that the girl side used to always be 145 and the boy side 135 and now the sides have switched which makes me wonder if they have switched sides (don't even know if that is possible) and it they have I worry that they have gotten tangled up or are messing up their cords!

Hello Ladies!

Wow...do I have alot of catching up to do! It 's good to see all the activity here! Hope everyone is doing well...guess I should get started on the reading.

Shelley- I did get to see your nusery pics & I love what you've done with it...it looks awesome. I think I might be the one due at the 1st part of September and the last one to finish the nursery! I've bought the crib bedding but nothing accomplished yet on the actual nursery!

Hi Elisa, good to see you on here again. Wow, you are already over 26 weeks, our little group is flying along.

Shellie, your co-worker is a moron. I can just see her all smug telling everyone stories of how she popped out 7 kids all while cooking, cleaning, moving house blah blah blah. I HATE people like that, but rest assured she most likely does this to everyone she meets, but my guess is she saves a special spot just for pregnant women as lets face it....it sounds like shes made a bit of a profession out of giving birth. I mean...everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. My pregnancy is considered completely healthy and normal, however because of my previous losses I'm not to do exercise either. I'd love to see her dare tell me I should be walking more etc...you don't mess with IF girls when we finally get pregnant!!

Sarah, too funny about the umbilical cord...I thought it was just me who thought these things! Lol, the thing is I read in one of my books that babies actually use it as a toy and can grab it quite tightly. So of course I now have this image of him in there cutting off his own oxygen supply. My DH was actually born with the cord around his neck 3 times so I have a natural fear of this happening anyway. But I've also read its very rare that it harms them...not that that will stop me worrying every single minute!!

Shelley, hows your LA weather? DH and I are so fed up not being able to move yet. The looming actors strike has meant he probably won't get anything until next year now. I'm so annoyed...but we are definately still moving and it will be so much fun to have your three spending time with my little Reed. He gets to have three instant buddies.
