I second the moron comment! It actually made me laugh out loud, Dh doesn't even respond now, he is convinced I am nuts! And I think I read somewhere about the umbilical cord being pretty tough but you are right it doesnt stop us from worrying!

Elisa-you wont be the only one scrambling to get the nursery ready...DH and I are at a standstill until he gets his butt moving on refinishing the floor!

Shellie-I wonder if you are getting cross hbs...like I can pick up my little ones hb on both sides of my belly sometimes so maybe your babies are in the same spot but the angle you are at might be different...did that make any sense? probably not, I can't speak english let alone type it anymore! It's a good thing I teach 4 year olds and they dont think I'm stupid just "silly" (they tell me this all the time now).

So one of my girls drew a picture today of me and then my baby in my belly, I will try and scan it tomorrow and post it...it was too funny! And another asked me when I was going to cut the baby out! Ah to be 4 again!

That is the cutest thing! Don't ya just love little ones.

I'm having issues with where Reed is kicking, its always really low (because of his crazy desire to lie with his legs over his head!) but it seems to be aimed right at my bladder. I actually go from not needing to pee to needing to go really badly when he kicks there. Its also strange but I don't feel him all the time either. Is this normal? I thought they were always moving, but honestly some days I feel nothing for hours and hours.

How is everyone else doing in this department?

Fossie-what a witch!! I hate people who "act nice," giving "helpful" advice when really they are running you down!! If she wants to play super earth mother, then let her, but you should just be yourself. All pregnancies are different and truthfully, I'm sure we could all be doing something better to be perfect, but really for women who have gone through IF treatment--we are freakin lucky to be at this healthy stage in the process so tell her to step. Well, at least try to not let her ridiculous attitude interfere with you feeling good about all you are doing.

I'm carrying twins, I'm not a wimp or complainer, but I do have trouble breathing sometimes and my back has been hurting too, lately. Also, depending on your build a pregnancy will affect you differently..for instance, I'm tall and was told it might be easier to carry twins as there is more space available, so I can imagine someone shorter might feel more compressed. You know, sometimes I think to myself: you know the mother on little people big world on TLC? The mother carried twins successfully and she is a dwarf, so I bet I can too. I remember my sister was overdue on her first baby, I think she was at 40 weeks and no sign of labor, anyway, I was on the phone with her and she said she was going to the gym to work out on the elliptical machine. I thought that was odd at the time but now that I'm pregnant I don't think I'd do that. She's an overachiever type but I guess my point is we're all different and go with what feels right to you, okay?

My little guy will kick a few times early in the morning, usually around 3 am during my snack time, then not until after noon or so, then he is the most active afte 5...we should be feeling more movement in a little bit here because I read that they are gaining more control over their movements. If you want them to move I have been told eat something with sugar or play music, or sometimes I jiggle my belly a little to get him to move.

Elisa, good to see you back! It sure does get busy in here!

I have been doing lots of resting lately with my laptop. LOL I'm sure you girls will get tired of me posting as I have lots of time on my hands these days! Just sitting around growing babies I quickly went out to a store today and paid for it the entire day. LOTS of pressure, so much it scared me. DH noticed my car had moved and I got in trouble when he got home so there will be no more travelling outside the home alone

Alana, the weather has been good. We had a hot spell and then a cold one. The last couple of days there has been a breeze which I normally hate the wind but I have been spending lots of time inside so the breeze coming in has been nice. I am sooooo looking forward to next summer when I can enjoy it with the babies outside. That sucks that your move is delayed but it is probably the best thing for you and the baby. Moving is so stressful and you shouldn't be flying or lifting anything heavy now I look forward to meeting Reed. I just love that name.

Sometimes I go for a couple of days and barely feel the babies. It worries me. I am going to ask my doctor about it tomorrow at my 5pm appointment. Today they have been movng a lot. I think they might be doing summersaults. I have felt the baby move on the outside a couple of times. Unfortunately DH has missed it.

Sarah, that is so cute that one of the girls drew a picture of you with your baby in the tummy. That would be so sweet to see.

Hi girls!

Well, I survived my camping trip. The worst part was the drive! 9.5 hours...grr
We did see an entire town that was destroyed by a tornado...it looked like a war zone. Scary!

Alana...my little guy loves to kick my bladder and it is always at 3 in the morning!

Shelly...That's funny that your husband caught you! I know how hard it is to stay home and rest when you want to get out and do stuff! I was on complete bedrest with my first and it was HARD! I am glad you have a laptop to keep you busy. I remember that all I would do was watch all of the stupid daytime shows. I had more Judge Judy than I could stand!

Justine...I love that show in TLC. I am always amazed at how she carried twins!

Sarah...I love that they think the baby will be cut out...too funny. I guess in my case it will be cut out...maybe their mommy had a c-section.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Tracy thats probably what it was, their mummy had a c-section and they now think all babies get 'cut out'. Sarah you will have to ask their mother one day.

Shelley, it must be hard having to stay put all day....but you are doing the most important job in the world right now...growing those babies. I'm very jealous of your weather right now too. I hope the wait for us to get to LA isn't too long, but I think what with the strike and the US recession things aren't too good in the film industry right now. It will pick up though, and hopefully early next year. I want to spend summer with Reed when hes bigger too...how much fun to take them to the beach.

I'm glad I'm not the only one not feeling the movements everyday. I guess maybe they are still too small to feel all the time? I realized this morning that they are just over a pound in weight now, we all have a little over 3 months to go...and they are going to gain about 6 more in that time! Thats crazy, they obviously do all their fattening up in the last trimester. So we may feel heavy now...but guess how heavy we'll be feeling in a month or two!

Oh good luck Christine!! I cannot wait to see the pictures and how big your little one has gotten!!

So I was reading that my little guy is over 11 inches and a pound or more...does this sound right to you ladies? I just can't believe he is that big...I think it kind of hit me last night that this is really happening, I am really pregnant and going to have a baby! I know I have felt this way before but then it goes away and it just hit me like a ton of bricks! I don't know if it is the baby moving or all the activity I have been doing lately but I have a lot of pressure in my pelvis area...anyone else experiencing this? Well have a great weekend ladies, another busy one for me so I don't know if I will be on to post, we are working on the nursery floor!!! FINALLY!

UGH!!!! I found out yesterday I have Gestational Diabetes... UGH!!!

I was hoping I could have avoided it. What a bummer. The only risk factor I have is that I am carrying 3 babies, oh and the fact that I am old. (nothing much LOL) Yep, there is too much sweetness in me I have an appointment with the nutritionist on Monday to get a meal plan and monitor machine. They are hoping that I can managed the diabetes with a change of diet

I am going through sugar withdrawals. I was actually eating really healthy but now I am not allowed to eat fruit or milk in the morning. I missed my strawberries and yogurt I also miss my chocolate milk and my extra protein powder in it. Don't even bring up cheese pizza being bad for me ~ that one brings tears to my eyes.

Anyways, I trying to keep my chin up. I have had an excellent pregnancy so far and I will do anything to keep it that way. The doctor was surprised I have not have any contractions yet because it is expected I will experience them soon due to carrying 3 babies. My uterus is measuring 42 weeks I am wondering how much bigger it can get??? I am wearing my 'big girl' tops now! LOL

The best thing is that this morning DH felt one of the babies move for the first time!! I have felt them a couple of times (on the outside) but DH missed it. Each morning he hugs me and rests his hand on my tummy. This morning our little girl was moving around after he put his hand right where she is. He was really proud and happy. It felt great to be able to share that with him.

Shelley-well that just sucks!! Imagine strawberries being bad for you! You are such a trooper through all of this, I am simply amazed! So glad to hear DH felt your little one, I hope my guy will kick hard enough soon so my DH can feel it too, he is a little jealous I get to feel it all! I would glady let the baby kick his bladder if I could. It is amazing that the uterus can even get that big...hopefully the contractions will hold off a little while longer for you!

Christine-DH pulled up the rug in the nursery and we found great hardwoods, so we are just going to refinish it and get an area rug...I swear the people before us loved carpet so much I am suprised it is not on the walls! I cannot believe our babies are that big already, amazing!!!!

Shelley-Sorry to hear about the diabetes. You will be able to manage just fine by watching your diet! Plus when you get your monitor you can see what foods make your blood sugar go high. For example..I can still have pizza, just two slices with a big salad. It really is all about portions. If I eat french fries, my blood sugar goes really high! But fruits and things like that don't really affect me. But everyone is different.

I buy the big canister of mixed nuts and snack on that during the day. I also snack on cheese and crackers(just have a few crackers)!

That is amazing that your uterus is measuring at 42 weeks! Are you uncomfortable yet?

shelley - it is not as bad as you think. for yogert, try the dannon light and fit - it has only 10-11 grams of carbs per serving. and it is pretty tasty as for cheese pizza - no can do!
you should be able to have milk - 2% only has 12 grams of carbs per 8oz serving.
fruit, yes.......as a diabetic, i cannot have fruit until my lunch and dinner time meals.
something about the way the body absorbs insulin in the morning---it is a little slower.

but if you have a tablespoon of peanut butter just before bed, it will keep the pancreas working through the night and your fasting blood sugar when you wake up will be pretty darn good.

complex carbs like pasta are good, it is fried foods that get your blood sugar high and drop really really fast.

honestly - it is so so so much easier to control GD with insulin than diet and with 3 little ones, it might be a better idea.....that is just me being a diabetic. because i know they still want you to eat a lot of calories to bulk up those little tykes.

Sarah - hardwood floors are going to be beautiful!!!
