Well, just got back from my U/S and all is well. The tech told me I have two girls so the mystery appears to be solved. They weigh 1 pound 7 oz and 1 pound 8 oz. I have put on 25 pounds exactly, cervix is in good shape and my glucose test is scheduled at next appt in 4 weeks-- so all seems very good!

Shelley, sorry you're struggling, but sounds like you're doing great on the diet--you can do it!!

Is anyone signing up for newborn classes, etc? That and breastfeeding are the ones I'm interested in at this point.

Hey Sarah, thanks for checking up on me hun. I have been in a bit of a slump the last few days, I have no idea why. Its probably just hormones and the weather (its still crappy here) as I'm really really tired all the time these days. We did have our NST and u/s for the heart on Monday though, and it turns out Reed does have a slight skipping beat issue. I'm being referred to a high risk specialist for an echo, but the doctor said its not a problem, its quite common and it should go away when hes born. If not, its still not something that will affect him.

So while that sounds like good news, I'm still obviously very worried. But I guess we'll see what the echo reveals in a few weeks. But there is some news that is definately good...my cervix is holding up fine. I was worried as I've had a LEEP procedure (where they cut away some of the tip) and thought it might weaken it. But so far, so good

By the way, I missed some stuff didn't I? Christine, your u/s pictures are wonderful. I can't believe you know its a little girl!! Congratulations! Does that mean pink is back in the lead??

Congratulations Justine on the two girls too, pink is now the popular color! As for classes, I am already signed up here as they have a waitlist so I had to join early. I haven't joined a birthing class yet, I'm still deciding on that.

Oh, and are any of you still not getting regular movement? I think my latest u/s showed me why. They still have quite alot of room in there. I had no idea they were still quite small, I thought almost 2 pounds would have been bigger. It looks like the majority of the fattening up will happen in the last couple of months. Our babies are still skinny enough to do back-flips in there without touching the sides!

So glad to hear from you Alana, I was kinda getting worried! Yeah I too have not had consitent movements, he does seem to have a schedule, but some days he moves very little, or I don't feel it that much I guess, then the next day he doesn't stop moving, again that is why I still have not sent back my doppler, at this point I should have just bought it to begin with! Oh and I read somewhere that skips and things like that are pretty common but I totally understand the worry, but think positive thoughts and I am sure he will be just fine!

I think you're right Alana--at today's u/s the tech showed me that both babies were moving like crazy but I couldn't always detect that if I went on what I felt alone. There's a lot of fluid acting as buffer zone in there so just wanted to say you're right.

I'm sorry to hear you've been down, but that is completely understandable. Some days I feel so energetic and the next I'm sleeping much more, even depressed and I panic a bit thinking in a few months I'll have two babies to care for, will I be up for it? Well, of course, I must be. It's an overwhelming time, for sure. Hang in there!

Sarah, yeah 36 weeks would be great. I was more optimistic until a week ago and then I got a bit down too. Today was a good day though. I think I am feeling that way becasue of the GD stress, not being able to do much and realizing in a couple of months I will have 3 babies!!

Alana, sorry to hear about the skipping heart beats but what a relief to know that it is not uncommon. It is good that they are checking it out and keeping an eye on it. I have a skipped heart beat, that I just found out a few years ago. The doctors told me that I would have been born with it and that it is nothing to worry about. Hopefully it will be the same for Reed or better yet, maybe it goes away completely!!

I did not feel regular movement until about a week ago. I feel them in the mornings now and sometimes during the day. Before I only felt them at night. I also have seen them move a lot on an u/s and not felt them move. That helps me to not worry when I don't feel them.

Alana - thank you!
I think it is the 3rd trimester blues - i have them off and on also. I hope it does get better for you soon. Just know you are not in the boat alone and we are all here for you!

Shelley - so they wouldnt give into giving you insulin. some of those other complications typically only occur if you cannot control your blood sugars at all or you just dont care to.....i know you are like me, checking your sugar right on time all the time and making sure all is good. if you are getting hungry you should ask if you can have some proteins to tie you over or if you can drink the slim fast low carb shakes - they are 6 grams of carb per can - and i drink those with small meals and it keeps me full for a little longer.

Christine, I have been keeping track of my glucose levels since Monday and I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow. I have to bring the numbers with me and see what they say. I am going to look for some of that low carb slim fast shake. I tried a glucose control Boost shake and it was really gross. At the end of the day I am super full but in the morning I hungry because I can only have 2 carbs and 2 protein for breakfast, no fruit or milk until after lunch. Thanks for your help

Shelley-I think you are doing a fantastic job and if anyone carrying triplets can make it to 36 weeks you can! And I can understand the feeling down, especially with only 2800 calories! Think about it, it is almost like you are on a diet and I don't know about you but I am not a very happy person when I am on one! I hope the appointment goes well!!!

So I have to go to a outdoor wedding this SAturday and we have to drive for over and hour and then it's supposed to be 90 degrees!!! What a time to be pregnant! And that is usually the time I need to have a snack so I guess I better bring something in the car with me! ANyone else eating like a horse lately? I cannot stop stuffing my face, the doctor is probably not going to be too happy with me in three weeks! And Alana I am with you on the sleep thing, I slept an extra three hours yesterday!

Sarah, oh gosh, good luck with the outdoor wedding in the heat. I know what that is like...we had 2 to go to last summer here in hot CA. I wasn't pregnant or even big and it was uncomfortable but very beautiful. Bring a large purse and stock it full of snacks such as nuts or a protein bar and some WATER!! You will need to keep yourself hydrated. One of the weddings we went to had lots of booze available but it was almost impossible to find some water!!! LOL

My appointment is at 7:15 PM! Ugh! Any one else ever have evening appointments? It throws my whole.....'sitting on my butt in front of the tv' routine off! LOL I am looking forward to seeing the babies though!
