My doctor has office hours until 7 or 7:30 on Thursday's, which is nice if you don't want to take any time off of work, but it does throw your day off!

I wish my clinic was open that late. All my appointments are at the ungodly hour of 8am! I think my doctor is trying to prepare us all for the early mornings of parenthood.

Shelley, can't wait to hear about your appointment tonight, maybe we get more pictures??

Shellie, was it you who was having the Braxton Hicks? What did they feel like? Every now and then I get freaked out as my abdomen suddenly feels really hard, like in a tight ball. It doesn't really hurt so I guess its not a contraction as I would assume they hurt? But its very strange and I guess another thing to add to my list for the OB. Who I might add is away for a couple of weeks...how dare she leave me at a time like this! lol

I notice also we are in a dead heat with the pink and blue! That is fantastic, and how God and nature intended it to be.

Alana-my doc said I was having BH contractions, mine felt painless and didn't even feel like a squeezing sensation, more of a not enough room in there feeling, almost like a balloon being blown up in my belly...and it lasted no longer than 30 seconds. I never thought to touch my belly to feel if it was hard because I never thought BH contractions would feel like that, but I guess it depends on who you are, again one of those things that are unique to you. But my doc said as long as they aren't getting stronger or more frequent to not worry about it. Honestly I don't ever really talk to my doctor anymore, well I never really did, I talk more with his nurse and I feel more reassured by her than by the doctor.

Is there anyone else who is finding out the gender or are we all accounted for? Isn't that neat how we are even?! everyone around me I know are having boys!! Oh and DH is finally at the staining point in the floor project and I am sooo not happy, I am a dark wood type girl and it is A LOT lighter than I imagined it, but what are can ya do, so I guess I just want it done so we can get on to painting and working on the closet and furniture! This baby is going to come and we won't have a place for him at this rate!

Alana - no they are not painful more uncomfortable I guess but that isn't even a good description because really the main thing about them is that they are worrisome because you aren't sure what they are. They are really hard to describe but to me it feels like the baby is doing a slow roll low below my belly button and when I feel my abdomen it gets tighter and harder for just seconds and then although it is still pretty firm feeling just feels different, squishier for lack of a better term afterward. I have described it as feeling like someone periodically takes a rolling pin to my insides and does a once over and then it is done - really odd. I will be talking more to my doc about this tomorrow but I am reassured constantly that they are normal.

I think it is crazy that you guys can go to the doctor so late - our options are 9:00 - 4:30 and there is an hour lunch break in there too. I work at a camp so pretty far from the office and I get the earliest appointment at 9:00! Luckily I have been able to work a little later or extra hours on another day to make up for it because I am really trying to keep all of my personal hours and vacation days - the only way I can get any kind of paid leave. I am going to take 12 weeks but only will have the time accrued to be paid for about six :-(.

My doctors appointment went well. I have another appointment next Thursday at which time the doctor will decide if I need medication for my GD or not. Some of my numbers were high today and I followed the diet plan exactly. The doctor was happy with how the babies looked and my blood pressure is still great. The swelling is to be expected so they are not too worried about that yet but suggested I wear support hose (like the old ladies ) I am going to get some to wear around the house because today the swelling was painful.

We got a picture of baby girl A!! She has been hiding for most of the pregnancy and now she has shifted positions so we could see her profile. She has the same cute pouty look as the other boys (and my DH)

The other picture is of baby B's forhead and nose. Baby C was hiding.

Shelley-the babies look so cute! Glad to hear they are doing so well!

Fossie-Actually that is a pretty good description of how they feel! But they are pretty normal just makes ya worry!

So sorry if this is TMI but I am a little worried about my discharge the last two days...I don't know if the weather has anything to do with it or not but there has been more of it, and at one point during the day yesterday I had so much I had to change my underwear...so I am super paranoid so I was wondering if any of you have been getting more than normal? And it goes from thicker to thin then back to thick, this morning it was thin and clear...I don't want to keep calling my nurse needlessly so I figured the next best thing to the nurse is you girls! Again sorry if it is TMI!

Yeah Shelley!

Sorry about having to get those hose! I know that is coming for me very soon too.

GD changes very quickly each day the pregnancy progresses, my Diabete Nurse changes my insulin pump settings ever 3-4 days - because as the baby grows, my body absorbs insulin differently even eating the exact same food at the exact same times.

Have a great weekend ladies! DH and I are going to the mountains this wonderful anniversay weekend

I'll catch up on Sunday Night!

Shelley, your little girl is adorable. She definately has the pout down perfectly, my guess is shes practicing for when she can have mommy, daddy and her two brothers all wrapped around her pretty little finger.

Sarah, don't worry, I've noticed the same thing. In fact I've been using a panty liner for a couple of weeks now as its been really bothering me. My 'What to expect' book reassured me on this one though as it actually mentions increased discharge at about 23-24 weeks. I just wish our annoying doctors would find the time to tell us this stuff! I barely speak to mine either now. Theres really no point, whenever I have an appointment there are about 5 other pregnant women waiting so we are all herded in and out like cattle.

Oh, and I think I am definately having BH after reading your descriptions. The tightening is definately that. Its kinda scary, why do they happen? I guess I'll keep an eye on them and phone the doctor if it gets worse. Luckily at the moment its only every now and then.

Hi Christine.

Shelley - sorry about the support hose, love the pics!

Alana - I have no clue why they happen but they are supposedly not cause for concern, of course nothing is a concern for my doc. Today I was talking to him about them and he said no bleeding, not regular - your fine! Thanks for the in-depth convo doc!!!

I had my follow-up anatomy scan today and everything went pretty well. They did find a bright spot on the heart of the little girl which is a soft marker for downs. It scares the crap out of me and against the advice of my husband and doctors I have been researching like crazy which is scaring me even more. I really wish that we had done some of the other testing - the nuchal scan, triple/quad screen, etc. but we were advised against it. I saw both the high risk doctor and my regular ob today and neither was concerned at all - they said that it is a very, very soft marker and that there were no other anomalies so they are definitely not recommending amnio or anything of that sort and are basically just considering it "normal." From what I can tell this brings my chances of down's to about 1 in 219 based on my age vs 1 in 500 without the marker. Normall those odds would be reassuring but we have defied so many odds before this to get pregnant and with twins at that that the numbers aren't as reassuring as I would hope.

Alana-thanks for the feedback, makes me feel better to know someone else is going through it too, I have had some sort of discharge for the majority of the pregnancy but the last two days has been twice as much as I had before, gross!!! Anyway the BH are to help your uterus practice for the real thing I guess...and yeah the doctor does nothing for me anymore and I like your analogy about herding, it is soooo true!

Fossie-I bet at the next u/s they don't even see the spot, those kinds of things are misdiagnosed all the time...I will pray that everything turns out fine for her! And my doc was the same way with my question about BH, I had to keep asking questions until I felt like I had all the info I needed, my nurse again was more reassuring than the doctor! Makes you wonder why the nurse doesn't get paid the big bucks!

Shelley, my little guy has the slight soft marker too. I was freaking out also until my OB sat me down and explained that almost 50% of babies she now sees have it, and the reason for this is that u/s technology is just picking up more than it used to....the majority of it is harmless. In fact, my last ultrasound picked up the skipped beats issue but the marker had gone. So this is just the curse that comes with too much technology and information and that saying 'ignorance is bliss' really rings true these days!

Argh, are any of you other East Coast girls in a heat wave? Only yesterday it was cold, now I'm sitting here roasting. Don't get me wrong...'m not complaining, I love the summer. I just don't know what to expect from one day to the next anymore.

Shellie and Alana, sorry to hear of the soft marker scare. Have faith everything will be ok (easier said than done, I know) There are so many false positives that show up during pregnancy, it is hard to know what to really get worried about. I understand how frightening it must be though

This afternoon a UPS package arrived and DH sent me a message from work saying to open it because it was a gift for me. I got my first Mommy present....a diaper bag!! I had told him I wanted a specific one that is great for 2 or more babies. It will be perfect for the triplets because it is large and has lots of pockets. It is call a Skip Hop Duo double diaper bag. I was really touched that he would do that for me. Not only was he paying attention when I told him I would like one but the fact that he went ahead and surprised me with it. I never thought a diaper bag could bring tears to my eyes. Not a brand new clean one anyways! LOL
