Wow, Tracy and Amy, I am glad you two are ok with all the storms going on. It sounds like you had a pretty wild weekend!

Sarah, your father's day gifts sounds really cute.

Oh I am just having a hard time sitting still these days. Last night my tummy was stretching and it really hurt. I felt like I was being a real whimp about it. I am wondering when the stretch marks will come and when my belly button will pop. Ewe I hate the thought of that happening. It gives me the heebie geebies just thinking about it. Somehow I have a belly button phobia

My MIL is going ahead with a baby shower for me on June 22. Unfortunately I will not be able to have pizza because of the GD. I had two small pieces of thin crust cheese pizza the other day and my glucose numbers went through the roof!! UGH

Now I have to figure out what I will wear to the shower. I bought a couple of sundresses that are really cute but when I was wearing one the other day I noticed that my arms look REALLY fat and my cleavage is out of control. DH likes it because it really shows my baby bump. He also mentioned that it made me look like I had a caboose. Big butt. I have never had one but now I do. I wonder if when I lose the weight if it will sag? GAWD I hope not. I am already thinking I will need a tummy tuck and breast lift in a couple of years.

Shelley-sorry you can't eat the pizza...what is in it that makes it bad for you? Because maybe there is a way to make it without whatever it is that make your numbers go up, then again it wont be the same huh? What a lucky girl that you have not gotten stretch marks yet!!! But I can only imagine how much your body is stretching right now to accomodate those three babies!

Tracy-pumpkins with us is like a hit or miss. The year before last we got one little pumpkin. Last year we got a HUGE pumpkin, 6 or 7 medium sized ones, and like 10 little mini pumpkins and a bunch of gourds...so we shall see what this year brings. And we usually just use them to decorate, I have thought about using them for pies but it's just to much work!

I am feeling like crap lately! I am tired, cranky, sore, unmotivated, and emotional! And on top of that my worrying is through the roof! I am obsessed with something going wrong, and I just cannot seem to shake it! I know that some of my thoughts are just irrational but I just cannot control myself from googling weird things or things like still births...I just don't know what to do with myself lately! Anyone else being this obssesive??? I almost feel depressed or something...

Sarah, I think your worrying is normal or if not I am in the same boat as you.... Don't get me wrong I am extremely grateful for my pregnancy going well so far (except for the GD but that is not too serious) Sometimes it feels like things are going too good and I worry about what might happen....suddenly.

I worry about going into labor and not being able to stop it and having premature babies with major complications. I know when I start to get bad feelings I am really tired and the best thing for me is to get some rest.

I think people who have gone through infertility have a more stressful pregnancy because we know what it is like for things to not go as planned, we have struggled and when we finally do get pregnant, we are scared to lose it. That is one great thing about having a place like this where we get support from others who have been through simular situations.

Sarah I'm totally in the worrying department with you. I've been having regular BH contractions and everytime I have one I freak out and even burst into tears on Saturday night when I had two in an hour. DH was trying to calm me down but I was convinced it was preterm labour or something. Of course all my pregnancy books say its totally normal...but I can't help it...it freaks me out!

As for OB's, I really like mine too but shes soooooo busy I almost can't be bothered going to the appointments. I just changed one that was for next Monday as I knew all she would do is take my blood pressure and send me on my way. After driving 30 minutes at 7am it just didn't seem worth it as my blood pressure is fine. If she did something different I might think about going! Anyway, I tried to leave the next one until after the fetal echo which is a few weeks away, but the mean assistant said I had to see her on or before July 7th. No idea why, I think they are just trying to torture me with their ungodly early morning hours! I just don't like being treated like cattle, Id rather just schedule her in for the day I give birth! lol

Oh...and I have to admit something, I'm becoming more and more paranoid about giving birth and pooping during it. Is that crazy? I just know I'd be soooooo embarrassed and wouldn't want DH to see. I'm even thinking of asking for a caesarean to avoid it. I know, I'm totally silly...but I'm so shy about these things I just don't know how I'll cope if it happens!

Good to hear others are in the worry boat - not good that we are all worrying but good to know that I am not a complete freak :-). It really is sad that most of us feel like we are inconveniencing are doctors with appointments and concerns. Mine doesn't seem too busy to see me but he just isn't very good with first time mom-to-be, struggled with infertility forever, mention of down syndrome possibilites, normal concerns. He is just so laid back and so flippant that even that makes me nervous. I feel like he doesn't know that I want to do everything I can to avoid pre-term labor (he doesn't believe in bedrest and doesn't think it helps and also doesn't feel that cerclage helps at all - not that I need that at this point) and on the flipside I don't want to go past 38 weeks because I have heard horror stories about multiple births that were allowed to go on too long and the horrible results. I have tried talking to him but I feel like my concerns just get brushed aside!!!

Alana - I had poop fears too and asked all my friends and they said that yep they did it and nope they could care less. Most of them said that the only person who really saw it was the nurse and that she just discreetly took the disposable blanket and threw it away and replaced it and that by the time the doc came in they had already been pushing for some time and were past that little problem. I also have a fear of something just because my dh's best friend was warning him (within earshot of me) that it really smells in the room when you start laboring and pushing and what not - wonder what that is all about!?!

Alana- I thought that was too funny! Wouldn't it be nice though! On the other hand I'm sorry you feel like that about your OB. After reading your post, I have to say I've been pretty lucky with mine, she's always available for questions, sometimes I feel like I've kept her too long, almost like I should be paying her for over time or something! And she is super busy too, some waits have been as long as an hour just to be seen but all worth it! She had 34 deliveries last month, and 17 of those were in 8 days, what a busy week for her! She has even talked "baby talk" during 2 of the u/s's, lol- I think she just loves what she does!

Has anyone registered at the hospital yet? I registered last Monday, and was worried I may have been doing it too early. Well, now I wish I would of done it even earlier. I was told that we would get a letter in the mail showing what our co-pay as well as any out of pocket expense would be and that these would have to be paid by the due date. Still haven't received the letter which just shortens our time to get it paid for.

Sarah- I'm right there with you! I am really trying not to complain but it is now so hard for me to get comfortable at anything I do, whether it's sitting down, sleeping and sometimes even walking. My mother in law tells me she thinks the baby is already at 4 lbs and that I am definitly bigger now than with my previous pregnancies. I've put on 17 lbs so far + the 10 from stims prior to my bfp so that puts me at a gain of 27 already! I don't know how much more stretching my belly can do and how much longer I can survive working.

As far as the pooping fear, I wonder if you can get an enema (if there is time) when you go into labor. Still not pleasant but it could be done in privacy. I would ask your doctor. My friend said she pooped too. The nurse cleaned it up really quickly.

I actually have heard from many ladies that they didnt poop...part of me wonders if they really did and they didn't realize it because it happened so quick. And I also heard that if you do they take it away before you even know it! I figure I have no dignity left so if it happens it happens and what can I do about it?!

Elisa-is that standard procedure to have to register at the hospital? I got a paper from my insurance saying that they had me in the system...guess I will have to go find it to double check because maybe they register for me...I will have to ask my doctor about that next time I see him. And I seriously need to register for classes soon! I keep forgetting to do it!

Thanks ladies for letting me know I am not the only one worrying. My biggest fear is premature labor and lately just cannot get it out of my head and if I am not thinking about that I think about going to term and then something happening at the end...hopefully once school is over and the summer begins my stress level will go down and I will stop thinking this way. I want to be happy and sometimes am, then I just think something stupid like that and get down! I jokingly asked my doctor if I could have medication, but he didnt think it was that funny...well off to eat something, another thing I do non-stop these days! Stay cool ladies!

Lol...I love your attitude Sarah, I wish I could feel this way. I think Shelley I will do what you said and use an enema before-hand. Otherwise I just know I'll worry about it constantly and won't push properly and will be in labour for days!

Shellie, thats a pain your OB is dismissive too, especially with twins. My OB wasn't exactly positive about cerclage either, until I demanded an u/s to test the length of my cervix as I've had surgery on it before...she actually looked surprised and quickly booked me in. Its like she didn't know I'd had a LEEP...but I told her months ago!! Honestly, if she wasn't so nice I'd give up and learn about DIY birth!

Elisa I'm not surprised you are feeling big and uncomfortable, you are almost 28 weeks! Wow, the time is flying by. I'm guessing Shelley will end up being first to give birth with her three little ones, then it will be your bub. Just remember to remind your OB to fit you into their schedule...oh hang on...thats just my annoying doctor. lol

As for the worrying, I too worry, not just about pre-term labour but about the cord strangling him etc. My DH was born with it around his neck 3 times, he nearly died. My Auntie actually did lose a baby this way so I'm really paranoid about it even though its extremely rare. I guess my biggest concerns is that my OB is so darn busy I wouldn't be surprised if she missed complications like this. I mean, how can they even tell if the cord is around their neck??

I'm also worried about Reeds heart issue, I'm scared a natural birth will just cause stress. Of course I won't get a chance to ask the doctor these things but I'm starting to wonder, poop aside (lol) if I shouldn't be having a c-section anyway.

Ouch, another BH is happening while I type this. Is anyone else getting them regularly? Its still only every hour or so but its become daily for me now. Should I be concerned??

Alana-do you have it every hour on the hour all day long? Or do you just notice them more at certain times? I would call your doc if they have gotten closer together or more consistent than before, that is what my nurse told me to do if I noticed a big increase in the number.

I have not had the BH like I did last weekend but I have been feeling slightly crampy every now and again, but nothing consistent or regular. And I am super uncomfortable now...I want to get up and move around but then I am too tired, so I lay around and then get aches and sore hips, etc. It's like a double edged sword! Oh and I am watching this show on two women who each had a set of twins together...on the Discover Health channel, they are doing a baby week, last night they had women who didnt know they were pregnant! Amazing!

Alana, if you are getting BH I would let your doctor know. I really don't know much about them but I know my doctor keeps asking me if I have had any. My fear it that I have had contractions and not known it. I will feel better after my 28 week scan where they will measure my cervix.

I spend a lot of time watching the baby shows on Discovery Health. At the moment I am watching Quads with 2 Moms.

My doctor gave me a package for the Hospital Birth Center where I will be delivering. I will be registering this week. I have a nurse advocate through our insurance company and she told me I should pick out a pediatrician. Has anyone done this yet?

Thankfully I don't get them all day long. Its only in the afternoons and evenings for some reason, and it seems to happen most after I've been doing something like cleaning or walking the dogs. I would phone the OB but I doubt she'll have much to say about it. My books all seem to say we will have them more and more from about now onwards, but if they do get more regular I can definately say I'll be the first to get myself to the ER. To heck with the silly OB!

As for pediatricians, I'm in Canada so I'm not really sure how it works here. Theres a real shortage of doctors so I'm wondering if there will even be one available. Do we ask the OB about these things also? Or is this completely seperate? Wow....theres so much to figure out still!!

all this talk of poop! gotta love it.

i didnt poo with the delivery of the twins, in fact we thought all i needed to do was poo - instead i had a baby and then another one.

i hear once you go into labor, you should immediately get something to eat on the way to the hospital, because they will not let you eat until you deliver.....except in the case of type 1 or 2 diabetics.

after Andrew came, it was several hours before i could even poo - they gave me over that 48 hours - 8 or 9 different types of stool softeners and still no poo

Are we starting to poo talk early - i thought it would come when all our little ones were born

Alana - sorry to hear about your OB. I dont have an OB, but see a MFM (perintologist).....i go in every 2 weeks and see a different Doc or NP - they are always on top of my history and where i am though.

I think that Aedyn had a nice growth spurt, because all weekend my blood sugars after 2 hours were between 160-195 got my insulin settings changed today so we will see how well that works for the next two days.
I hate those numbers, especially when i am used to see 60-120!

Well the night is getting late and Aedyn needs mommy to eat some TUMS! I cannot get rid of this heartburn now either.

Oh yeah, Echo take 3 went well finally, she cooperated for the tech and turned over for the doc, he wasnt too happy with her
But I get to have another U/S on the 20th to check the growth.

Shelley - Pizza is a definate no no - it is all bread! and even those thin slices have about 30 grams of carbs. you are better off getting a slice of bread and making pizza bread out of it ..... one slice is about 13-18 grams and the cheese and toppings will be less than 2 grams, but you have to make sure that you have at least 2 oz of protein for every 15 grams of carbs.....this will keep the body working on breaking down the protein and allow the absorbtion of your own insulin to work at a better rate.

Alana & Shelley-I was wondering the same thing about the pediatrition...I asked my friend if she took her baby to her GP or to a Ped. and she said she takes her daughter to a ped. I am going to ask my doctor next visit if he has any recommendations, I am sure with how many babies they deliver they have to have some opinions, that is unless you don't like your doctor then you probably wont like the peds. he likes. I also heard that some insurance carriers have a list of recommended doctors for the various areas so that is another idea. I was also reading that you should interview a few to get an idea as to who you like better, but isnt that a little weird to go to the doctors office to interview them...just seems odd to me.

Christine-yeah I am with ya on the heartburn, things that never gave it to me are now on the do not eat list! Even the one citrus vitamin water gave me such bad heartburn on sunday that I was close to tears! Yet now regular orange juice is just fine and dandy! Hope yours goes away quickly!
I think it is time to send back the doppler! I freaked myself out again last night because after 5 or so minutes I still could not find a hb...so I stood up and moved around a little and then tried again and there he was beating away at 141...ugh I just cannot help myself! He has been moving less the last few days and I just wanted to check on him, but I guess that is a bad idea!!!
