Melissa - I've been told I need to eat more too - I feel like I am eating a lot but I have only gained 12 pounds according to the doc's office and it is supposed to be more like 20. I too am not going to make it to 40 weeks as they will schedule a c-section at 38 weeks if they don't come before that but I definitely don't feel like time is going fast - it seems to be inching by right now for me! I think it is because showers and such are not until July and I'm looking forward to those and viability stage so I am counting down the days!

Glad I am not alone in the puking. I will mention it to my OB next week. It is only once a day so it isn't horrible.
Claudia-Thanks for adding me to the list. I am due on October 25th.

Sorry, I can't be of any help Jen - I didn't have any puking whatsoever. Believe me, I am grateful but at first it really, really freaked me out and I thought things were not going well. A good friend of mine just had her second and both times she had vomiting throughout and they gave her a cancer medication that worked really well that was safe for the babies.

Fossie - Do you consider "viability stage" 24 weeks? I am very excited to get to that point as well.

Melissa, good I am glad, it sounds like the right decision for you. I just get worried sometimes that people get forced into c-sections when they don't want or need them. We need to look out for each other you know?

Laura - yep, that is what I have been thinking - one of the calendars I use says Viability6/19/2008 which for me is 24 weeks exactly. I know that I want them to stay in a lot longer than that but it helps my peace of mind to know that once I get to the 19th they at least have a chance and that every day after that the chances only improve.

Anyone having hip pains? Claudia, I believe you mentioned this? I get this dull aching pain in both hips that gets pretty intense for about 30 seconds, then fades away. It is very similar to the type of hip pain I would get when my endometriosis got really bad. I have an OB appointment next week and I will mention it then, but it is probably just the joints getting prepared, right?

Hi ladies! I've had a busy couple days so I've been spending some down time tonight getting caught up with everyone.
Caroline - So glad you made it to England safe Laura - There are no words to express my thoughts and prayers for you. I've thought of you often and truly appreciate you taking the time to update us. Shellie - Aren't the 3-D pics amazing? I'm so glad we got a 2 visit package so we can go back again around 28 weeks. Viability - yep, when I went to the hospital a couple weeks ago, the nurse said that 24 weeks is the next milestone we want to get to. Longer is obviously better, but they consider 24 weeks a big marker. Ob appt - I had my appt Wednesday night. I finally gained weight this time! My NP was a little concerned that I gained 13 pounds in 6 weeks, but that's all I've gained the whole time and I'm still measuring small so they are going to do another ultrasound Monday night to make sure the baby is measuring ok. He's kicking up a storm which is definately comforting.

I am really looking forward to reaching 24 weeks! Only 1 1/2 weeks to go.
I'm still only feeling our little guy kick sporadically. My doc said it's OK, but I'm definitely anxious to feel him more regularly. On a good note, I am ordering bedding & furniture tomorrow. I am excited!! We still have to clear out his room, paint, and install a ceiling fan & light...and then we can really start to decorate. How our your nurseries coming along? Once we all make some progress we'll have to start posting pics! Happy Father's Day to everyone!

Fossie, thanks for bringing up the 'viability' stage topic. Something new that I learned today and for me, 24 weeks is almost around the corner
![]() Melissa, I am glad that your doctor is looking out for you and you and DH are okay with the dr's recommendation. JenD, I am one of those fortunate preggers who didn't have any "puking" or morning sickness, lucky me, yes! But at the same, it put a little worry in my mind because the only way I could confirm my pregnancy was throught the u/s and doctor visits. Tabitha, I am not feeling any hip pains, just yet, hope not to get them at all. I hopee they just don't get worse for you and go away. On Friday, I went to Once Upon A Child store, they have them all over the country and I found so many good items (a lot of them gently used, others are new) that I can't pass because of the amazing prices; like cute bassinets, strollers, slings, etc, etc. If you haven't visited this store yet, it is worth a try. DH and I are hosting Father's Day and I have cleaning and lots of prep to do before my family comes over. It is pouring outside but the weather forecast has promised that it will get better. . . dry and sunny before noon.

Netty - we have a Once Upon a Child here, and I go every weekend. Last weekend I bought a co-sleeper that is like the one I registered for, except a different color. It is 'gently used', but I only plan to use it for a few months, and it was less than half of the retail price.

We unfortunately don't have that store here. There is a consignment store just up the street that everyone has asked me if I have been too but peeking in the windows it looks like mainly clothes and I am not in that buying stage yet, because of the seasons and because that seems to be mainly what we have gotten as gifts so far.
Laura - I still don't feel "kicks" very often and really they feel just slightly stronger than when I first felt movement but when I saw them on 3-D ultrasound they were moving and kicking (each other) like crazy and were literally squirming all over the place - they would be low one minute and up by my belly button the next - I expressed amazement that I couldn't feel most of that and they said not to worry that it would happen soon. Glad for the confirmation on 24 weeks being another milestone!!! I'm off to work today - yuck (check-in day at camp) and then to a Father's Day thing at my dh's parents house (just mainly watching the US Open) so everyone have a good one!
