Laura that is such fantastic news about Kaylee! Every one of her little milestones is a reason to celebrate. Your entire family is in my prayers & will continue to be daily. Thank you for keeping us updated, it is very kind of you.

Fossie - thanks for the reassurance about the lack of kicks. I guess I am a late bloomer in this catagory. I am so glad I have a doppler at home, it keeps me for worrying about how he is doing.

I hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day today!! We are taking my parents & my in-laws out for brunch after church. I'm so glad we can see both families at once!

Laura what great news on Kaylee. She sounds wonderful. I hope you are getting the much needed rest too, we are still praying for you all.

Well, I have picked out my nursery theme and we finally were able to get the wall up and a closet built and now all we have to do is sand, paint and decorate. It feels really good to have that much done especially when you have to "build" a room.

I am glad to hear everyone is doing well, me too other than a little swelling and lots of fatique. My mom wants me to get them to check me for diabetes since it runs in our family. But the baby is great, she moves constantly it seems, and I love every minute of it!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hey Amy - I saw your post about your test results on the "We're Pregnant" thread. I wanted to check in with you & see how you are doing. Have you scheduled your level 2 u/s? Based on everything I've heard & read, it seems like these tests have an incredibly high rate of false positives and I have a very good feeling that little Jack is a-ok. I'm just sorry you are going through this stress & worry. Hope you are doing allright!

Oh Laura I am so excited that Kaylee is continuing to do well.

Tabitha, I a have one word for you regarding hip pain: MASSAGE! Find a good masseuse that is certified in prenatal massage and does deep tissue work. This has saved me. I am back walking without trouble and the pain is virually gone. I am going to go every 2 weeks from now until the end of my pregnancy. My massage therapist gives discounts for regular prenatal massage - so if I go every 2 weeks or even monthly I get a discount to make it more affordable. Maybe you can ask a massage therapist in your area if they would do the same?

We are also getting a lot of stuff second hand. We don't have Once upon a child in my area but we have a huge craigslist community and I just purchased a cosleeper from there for 1/2 the retail price from a really lovely woman who even dropped it off at our house. I find that dealing with parents (when youare pregnant) who are giving away or selling stuff is such a wonderful experience. They get all excited about your pregnancy and throw in clothes and "extras" for free because they are so excited. I am also getting a lot of free things off my neighborhood "parents" email list. People post stuff for free all the time: swings, bouncers, exersaucers etc. I just got a baby bathtub and a pack n play for my mom's house for free from that list. I have also been cruising garage sales and found a snap n go for $10, definitely used but in good working condition. We are really trying to save for when I am/DP is on maternity leave. At that point we will be living for awhile on 1 income we are trying to save now. (plus we are really trying to save to buy a home next year as well...The cost of living is sooooo high in the bay area)

Claudia- You are a Super-Shopper for sure! The closest Once Upon a Child is in Vacaville. I went there a few weeks ago and bought a ton of clothes (I couldn't resist!). It sounds like you have a great network of resources to find bargains...I'm going to start following your lead.. How exciting that you & DP are saving up to buy a house!! We bought our house in Pleasanton 3 years ago, at the height of the market (ugh!!). I still can't get over how expensive homes are here, and I've lived in this area since I was 7. Are you going to try & buy in SF?

Laura, craigslist has been great. I highly recommend it for baby stuff. There are TONS of postings everyday for cribs dresser sets, toys, clothes, breast pumps, strollers etc

It is unlikely we will be able to find a place in the city though we would love to. We have a great flat now, and we really don't want to take a cut in our lifestyle. Our flat now is 2 br and almost 1200 square feet with laundry and parking. I know many of you aren't city dwellers but it is a coup to have what we have for the price in SF. We just don't want to downgrade to a smaller place with fewere amenities when there will be more of us living in the house (yay!). We will probably look in Berkeley or Oakland where by next year we will hopefully be able to buy a house for the price of a 1 br condo in the city. We both work in the city so don't want our commute to be too far. Plus my mother lives in Berkeley and is going to provide 2 of the 4 days/wk of childcare we will need.

I scheduled a massage for Wednesday evening, and I am really looking forward to it. I also ordered a prenatal yoga dvd. I am going to a yoga class once a week, and I feel so much better afterwards. So hopefully I can motivate myself to do the dvd at least one other day a week.

My best yard sale find so far: a Baby Bjorn carrier for $6. I have never been a fan of yard sales because they take place way too early for me, but I have been finding some good deals. I will have to try Craig's List.

Christie - how exciting to make progress on your nursery. What theme did you choose? We moved my desk out of the future nursery this weekend, and I found the fabric for my Mom to make the quilt and bedskirt. Small steps, but I feel like we are getting somewhere.

Tabitha, I found the crib bedding I liked on inthetreetop.com but it was very PRICEY!!! Way out of my range for sure. So, I ordered the fabrics from Hancock fabrics and me and my bf are going to make the set ourselves. It is called Lily the frog, although there are different sets out there name the same thing. We will go with the greens, pinks, purples, and white. My SIL is very artistic and she is going to paint the pictures for me and possibly a mural on the wall too. I just haven't decided on how far I am willing to go on this. I don't really want to put alot of hard work into the theme because we will only be in this house for maybe another year or two. It is an old house that I bought before we married and its very small. Once the baby begins to walk, we will have to have more room!!!

Claudia - I love both Berkeley & Oakland! My uncle lived in Rockridge pretty much all my life and 2 of my best friends are in Berkeley. You can't go wrong in either place...but I'm sure it will be hard for you to leave the City. It is fabulous!

Christie - Your bedding sounds adorable! I can't wait to see pics!

Hi Ladies!

Laura (kory) - That's such good news about Kaylee! Our prayers are with you.

Claudia - My cousin with twins was just telling me about using Craigslist down in San Diego. She highly recommends it too.

Laura (eriksgirl) - I've been dying to go to Once upon a child. The closest one is in Modesto so as soon as I have a free day on thw weekend, I'm going to go scope it out

Massage - I loved my prenatal massage and would love to go again. She found spots that I didn't even realize were tight.

Tabitha - had you ever done yoga before? I just got the ok to start a prenatal yoga and I'm both excited to try it and nervous since I've never done yoga before.

Appt tonight - we got to see little Jaden again on the ultrasound. He's measuring anywhere from 3 to 10 days ahead of schedule so even though I'm measuring small, he's doing just fine!

Oh - DH got to feel Jaden kicking for the first time on Father's day!
