Now we're kickin'!

I'm pleased to report that I am FINALLY feeling some good kicks! I was definitely a late bloomer in the kicking & moving department, but I am very happy to be joining the rest of you now.

Laura - I just want you to know I'm thinking of you & Kaylee!! May she grow stronger & stronger each day!

Fossie - I am glad you got an answer about your rib pain. I hope it goes away soon!

Amy - Do you & DH have a name for your little girl yet? I still can't get over the fact that you are having a girl! :-)

Laura - so glad you are finally feeling some good kicks. There's no better feeling than that right now.

Everyone else in case you didn't know Laura(Kory) started a thread on the Parenting after Fert. Struggles titled Kaylee Sinai's update and she posted a picture of baby Kaylee on there yesterday. Check it out - she is so precious.

Laura -good to hear that you are feeling some kicks. DH has still not felt the baby kick yet. Everytime I get him to feel my belly the baby stops moving.

I went for a massage last night and it was so nice. I hope that I can go occasionally as I get bigger. I felt a little guilty spending that much money when we still have so much stuff to buy for the baby, but it was really relaxing.

I have an OB appointment tomorrow. I am looking forward to at least hearing the baby's heartbeat (probably won't have an ultrasound). When is the gestational diabetes test, 28 weeks?

just sent everyone a PM.

So, in all the excitememt I forgot to really tell you guys the details of my appt. The physical features of the baby look good. There are no markers for downs. She told dh and I that another thing that could cause the blood results to be off is my placenta. So now, every 4 weeks I will be going to a perinatologist (sp?) to check on baby and placenta. I am so happy that for now everything looks ok, but am frustrated that I am now having to see another specialist. It feels like it has been one thing after the other for me. But it feels good to be in good hands and with having appts about every 2 weeks (between perinat. and obgyn) I will feel better about things.

Tabitha, I am glad that you enjoyed your massage! I know what you mean about feeling guilty, but you deserve it!! Have fun at your appt tomorrow!

Laura, YAY for baby kicks! I am still feeling just little flutters and random pokes every now and then.

Fossie, how are you feeling today? I hope better.

Laura, Kaylee is so beautiful! We are all thinking of you and praying for Kaylee and your family.

Anyone else tackled registering yet?? I just went online and registered at Potterybarn Kids and Babies R Us. Fun stuff!

Laura-Kaylee is so precious. Praying for her everyday.

Amy-So glad your u/s went so well and that your little GIRL is very healthy. BTW we are naming our little boy Jack Sullivan (middle name is MIL's maiden) so there will still be a baby Jack around here!

Tabitha-A massage sounds so nice. Do you just go to a regular masseuse?

Celeste-Hope those babies stay comfy for many more weeks.

Fossie-Hope you are feeling better and that your pain turns into nothing serious.

In regards to kicks I am feeling them from inside but nothing outside yet. I guess that will come in time?

Hello to everyone.

Jen - I'm not feeling any outside kicks yet either. I'm sure they will be coming soon!

Amy - I have registered at Babies R Us & JC Penney (just our furniture). I am still thinking about Pottery Barn Kids...but I might just stick with these two for now. It really was fun to go with DH & pick out everything. We had a great time!

I started a registry at Target and Babies R Us. We don't have a BRU near us, so we might take a roadtrip in the next few weeks to look at stuff 'in person'. I have heard all the bad stuff about Target's return policy, but there is a Target in my hometown, so I needed to register at a store that is in both places.

Speaking of shopping, it occured to me a few days ago that DH and I need to invest in a camcorder (and learn how to use it) before baby boy arrives. Does anyone have any suggestions of brands or what to look for?

Jen - I just picked a massage therapist out of the yellow pages that does pregnancy massage. I have read that some have a special table that is made so you can lay on your belly, but this one had me lay on my side with a lot of pillows, and then switch sides half-way through. I was pretty comfortable laying that way, I sleep surrounded by pillows.

Tabitha - My parents just bought us a camcorder a few weeks ago. It is a Cannon and they got it at Costco. I think my Dad said it was about $400 and it came with every possible accessory, including a tri-pod, extra disks, case, etc. This one burns to the small CDs, instead of having an internal hard drive. We looked at both kinds, but this one seems really easy to use, has great reviews, and is a couple hundred dollars less than the hard drive versions. I'm excited to start using it...although I have outlawed it from the delivery room until after our little guy has arrived. :-)

i am going to get this one:

Flip Video - Ultra Series

it's only $150 and my girlfriend said that it is perfect to throw into a diaper bag and go. she said all of her mom friends have big fancy ones and they hardly use it and she gets small video clips all the time. we went to the pool and she wipped it out and recorded her baby girl. it's small and so cute! (if you are looking for something a little more simple)

Amy,
Thanks for the tip on the camcorder, that is exactly what I was looking for, sleek and easy to use.
BTW- Glad to hear that little Lily (oh la la, love the name so much! it is sweet and sexy at the same time) is doing well and will be under a good watch with the regular doctor and the perinatologist, phew! You must be relieved!

Thanks for all the tips on camcorders. I will have to start researching and make a decision. Camcorders/cameras will definitely be banned from the delivery room until after the baby is born!

Amy - are you still being watched for placenta previa? I am still just seeing my OB, and he is sending me to the hospital at 28 weeks for an ultrasound to see if my placenta is still over the cervix. I wonder if I should be seeing someone else? I am glad to hear that everything else is wonderful with Lily!
