Yay! congratulations to all the 24 week-ers and to those coming up on 24 weeks very soon! I was having dinner with a friend last night (who had a baby in november) and she said, wow, you are almost in your 3rd trimester! I realized then that we only have a few weeks left of the second trimester! Even though I feel like I count every day and week, it is going so fast!!!!

So, when does the 3rd trimester "officially" begin? 28 weeks? I can't believe how fast these last few weeks & months have gone by. After all the painful waiting, hoping & praying during the first few months, these last few have really gone quickly. We are getting there, ladies!!!

It seems to me that there is a lot of discrepancy in when it actually starts, but the date that I see most often is 28 weeks which is what I am going by. Anyone else have other information?

My books say 28 weeks also. I think I must be the only one that is ready for this to be over. Don't get me wrong, I have waited my ENTIRE life for this, but I am ready to hold my baby and get my body back to normal. I feel like such a freak wanting it to be over, but that is the truth. I know once its over, I will wish I was pregnant again.

Well, I didn't get much progress done on the nursery this weekend. I sanded the sheetrock on Saturday but had to do some touchup with the mud, so I guess this Saturday I will sand some more then start with painting. There is still so much to do, I dont feel like I will ever get it done.

Hope everyone had a good day today. I have a OB appt tomorrow, just b/w and listen to heartbeat I think. No more ultrasounds according to my Dr. unless there is cause.

Christie, I feel you, though I do enjoy being pregnant, there are times when I am ready to get my body back. Like today after lunch when I was so bloated I thought I would pop. You don't have to like being pregnant to want the prize that comes at the end...

I feel so lucky that everytime I have an OB appt I get an ultrasound. Thats how he checks the heartbeat, etc. Its wonderful!! I'm so glad that I made it to the 25 week mark on Saturday! Especially with all of the contractions I've had. My belly is getting so much bigger this time than it did with my daughter. Also, I've noticed I'm carrying him so much lower than I did with her! I got a lot of emails from different pregnancy sites that said "Congrats on making it to your 3rd trimester" and I'm only 25 weeks...whats up with that??
Well, hope everyone is well!!

I am totally in love with my big belly! I think that when Ella Sophia arrives, I will be happy but definitely miss my pregnant figure.

Lately, I have been thinking about my next child and how long it will take me to get to that point. Certainly, I don't want to wait too long for the second child and hope to be pregnant by the time Ella Sophia turns one. Am I crazy or what? Anyone else thinking the same?

Tabitha, Holly, please update us with your shopping finds. I would love to hear what you got, what you bought. . .what you bargained for? what is new?

I am excited, this Wednesday, is my first class of the series of classes I am taking, it is "Pups and Babies", yay! I can't wait!

Tabitha - what a scare. Glad to know that everything is ok with the baby.

Congrats on all who are past 24 weeks. I have a few more weeks to go. Can't wait.

BZOE - how have you been feeling. Still getting alot of contractions?

Well my brother came over this weekend and helped put up the chair rail in Amara's room. It looks really nice. I will post some pics later this week. He is coming back during the 4th of July weekend to put up the crown molding. Making slow but steady progress on her room.

Netty - funny you bring the subject up about a 2nd child. I was talking to DH last week and said I wanted to try again when Amara is one. I'll be almost 39 by then and don't want to wait too long.

Wishing everyone a great week.

I have already been thinking about how soon we can try for a second baby. We will have to go through IVF again, but DH is totally on board for trying for a second. I just don't want to wait too long, but who knows if it will actually work out. I am so thankful to be pregnant, I feel a little greedy thinking about a second one already, but I can't help it.

DH and I spent the day shopping yesterday and we got our crib, changing table and car seat/stroller. We do not shop together very often, but we survived the day. I love the crib, it is totally different than what I had been thinking about. After I saw the espresso finish in person, I just loved it.

Oh Tabitha, I am so sorry! I feel stupid just asking about your shopping finds and not once I mentioned or asked you how you are doing after that scary episode. My apologies!
When is your next OB appointment?

Melissa, you are doing a lot of progress. We haven't even started to clean the nursery.

Tabitha, love the color and the model of the crib! I dragged DH to three tag sales on Saturday and boy, oh boy, he was not being patient. We got a swing and a a couple of cute outfits that were in good shape. I didn't have time to make it to OUAC.
You are not greedy at all! I often wonder if DH and I will have to go through IVF to have our second child but one step at a time. While I try to be hopeful and positive, I need to remind myself to be grateful for what I have but also in the back of my mind, I hope to be one of those success stories to get pregnant au natural after IVF conception.

Everything seems fine. The nurse said she thought it was a fluke, it could have been something as simple as the baby grabbing his cord. She just said to pay attention if he is moving less than normal. I go back on July 14 for the follow up ultrasound to see if the placenta has moved, and for the gestational diabetes test. They already gave me my 'orange drink'. Is everyone else scheduled for this test around the 28th week?

Thanks Netty, that makes me feel better. Its not really that I don't like being pregnant, but my stomach has been soooo uncomfortable since I got pregnant, it is like I am so tired of it. I always had some stomach issues, so I guess pregnancy just added to it. I love feeling the baby move and knowing she is in there, but I just hate the way I feel all the time.

Tabitha, I am glad all was well with the baby. I am sure everything is fine. Glad they are giving you a followup soon.

My Dh will not even discuss a second child. I am hoping he will change his mind after the baby gets here, since we do have 5 frosties left. And I do not want to have an only child. I grew up with so many brothers and sisters that I can't imagine having noone. I will definitely have to continue working on him for another one, since we would have to go the IVF/FET route again.

I will let yall know how my appt goes today, it is later this afternoon, so I will post late. Have a great day everybody!!!

Tabitha - I'm so glad everything looks a-ok with your little one!

I will have to redo the 4-hour gestational diabetes test in a few weeks. I failed the one hour at 12 weeks, passed the 4-hour at 14 weeks and now have to do it one last time. I'm REALLY hoping & praying that I pass...and that all of you do, too! I wouldn't care too much about what gestational diabetes could do to me, I just don't want anything negative to affect my little guy.

My DH & I talk about #2 (and possibly a #3, if we are that blessed) all the time. I think we will start trying again when Luke is 9 months or so. Because of the toll the meds & rollercoaster of emotions take on me, I want to get my days of pregnancy done in the next few years.

While I can't sleep at all, I'm loving my preggo figure as well! It took me a while to get used to it, but now it's wonderful. I definitely feel like being pregnant is the coolest thing I've ever done. But, for you ladies who feel otherwise, I totally get that too and think it's completely normal. This takes quite a toll on our bodies!

Our furniture is now ordered, our bedding is here and we are having a painting party on Saturday! My in-laws have been chomping at the bit to paint our nursery, so they are going to come over & help.

Have any of you looked at or decided on a glider or chair for your nursery? I wish more stores carried samples in their stores. I've found a bunch of great deals online, but I'm not comfortable buying a chair without having sat in it. At this point I think I am leaning towards the Dutailier "Hoop Grande" glider from BRU. It is so comfortable! But they say it takes 10-12 weeks to arrive, so I need to order it ASAP.

Congrats again to all the 24 week ladies...I'm joining your club tomorrow! Then our next big milestone is week 28!! WOOHOO!
