Welcome home Caroline!
I took my Glucose tolerance test today and it came back at 126, so I think I am in good shape. I was so worried about it! I actually think the GGT is a lame test and provokes more anxiety than it does good. It is frought with false positives - clearly - I mean how many people have you seen fail the one hour test and pass the 3 hour test? I read that 1/3 of women who test positive on the 1 hr test pass the 3 hr test with flying colors. The one hour test is supposed to be a screening test to identify those who are at risk. But it certainly is never presented like that by providers. grrrr. BTW Bailee is adorable. So southern sounding! A little Georgia belle! Have a great weekend everyone! Happy 4th! be safe!

Welcome home Caroline! Your bedroom decor plans sound so bright & cheerful...I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.
Claudia - CONGRATULATIONS on passing your glucose test!! I agree with you, this test has way too high percentage of false positives. Us preggo ladies don't need anything unnecessary to worry about.

Claudia - welcome home.
Claudia - glad to hear you passed your glucose test. Amy - as the others have said I think you are just fine. I have only gained about 12lbs but did start out about 20lbs heavier than my usual weight. For the 4th we are just going to have a cookout (my parents are here from out of town visiting) and hang out by the pool if it doesn't rain. Hope everyone has a great and safe holiday weekend.

Well, ladies, I worked hard today, taking full advantage of feeling great. I painted the nursery with the primer and worked on my pool all day long. I am paying for it now, as my heels hurt really bad when I get up to walk. But it had to be done!!!
Claudia-Congrats on passing the glucose test!!! It is funny you said the name sounds like a true southern belle, I actually LOVED the name Georgia Raine, but my bf named her dog that a few years back and I didn't want to name my baby after a dog. I can't complain, she came up with the name!! But I too think Bailee Grace sounds southern and not too girly either. I definitely want a tom-boy, I am not a shopper and I don't want her to like boys until she is at least 18 yrs old!!! Ok, I am off to our 4th of July get together. Hope you all had a great day!!!

I am going to have my DH take my first preggo pictures today...I will post later. I read this morning that it is supposed to be 107 degrees here tomorrow (N. CA). YIKES...it never gets that hot here. I'm definitely not looking forward to that. I hope all of you in hot weather are keeping cool & drinking tons of water!

You ladies look wonderful!!!!! BZOE, your daughter is adorable! I will have DP take a couple of pics of me this w/e and I will post them. I have been so bad about taking pictures.
Laura, I know you said it would be 107 degrees at your house - I woke up this morning and it is a typical summer day in SF: foggy and cool. Of course it may burn off later, but I sure was hoping for some sun since we are having people for brunch today and it would be so nice to eat outside! Tabitha, how is your back? Now that mine is officially 100% better (thanks to time and massage!) I will be heading back into the pool a few times a week. They say that swimming helps your baby get into the right position for delivery. I have also heard that they sleep better after delivery if you swim while pregnant - but I don't know why that would be (has anyone else heard that?).

Morning ladies! Thanks for the compliments and BZOE you look great too! I agree with Claudia - your DD is adorable!!!
Laura - yep, over 100 today. I could tell it was going to be a hot one when I was ready to close up the house and turn the air on at 10am (DH and I usually argue about the air because I always want to save money) Good news ladies - I got my email from the lab this morning - glucose was 119 and all the other labs were normal. Yay!!! Dr appt Wednesday and 3-D ultrasound Thursday.

Oh you ladies look marvelous!!!! I haven't posted any pics because they have all been terrible!!! Maybe I will get a good one sooner or later!
Well, I got very disappointing news today. My Dh came in and said that his mom called him to find out if we had a name for the baby yet and when he told her "Bailee" she said that they already had a Bailee in the family. His first cousin's daughter is named Bailee. My first response was ANGER that he didn't know that and that I had to find out after we settled on a name. Now I am just disappointed. They would both have the same first and last names. So, I don't think I should name her Bailee now. I struggled with the name so much I just hate having to start all over. Maybe I will just name her Grace although I have no idea what middle name would go with that. Any ideas ladies?

Brandy and Holly - you both look great. I look much larger than you, but I am going to post a picture anyway because I am just in love with my gigantic belly.
Claudia, my back is much better, thanks for asking. I was afraid I would be up all night last night because I assembled the changing table and a bookshelf yesterday. I was very tired, but no backache. It is still a little surprising to me how quickly I get tired. I am glad to hear that you passed your glucose test. Christie- that is too bad about the name. Grace will be a pretty first name. I still haven't picked out a middle name. We will use George for the first name, after DH. I hope you ladies don't suffer too much in the heat. It is really humid here, which is unusual. I think DH and I are going to assemble the crib this afternoon, a good excuse to stay inside in the nice AC. Okay, here is me and my belly at (almost) 27 weeks.

Holly, Amy and Tabitha, you look mahvelous! I gotta post some pics of my growing belly.
Claudia and Holly, glad you passed your glucose test I went for mine yesterday and the lab told me that my doctor should have my results tomorrow so I will call the office to find out the numbers. I am dreading to hear the results, mainly because in the last two weeks I have been just bad, having ice cream every day in any kind of shape, being my faves Klondike dark chocolate, the Blue Bunny cone and Forbidden Chocolate.BZOE, your daughter looks so happy and so ready to greet her baby brother. She is going to be a great sister. Christie, that is a bummer! DH has several female first cousins and only one male first cousin, he is older than DH by 4 years. He got married 2 1/2 years ago and we met his little daughter who was almost one year old this past Christmas. We rarely see them since they live in Boston and they don't come to our get-togethers. Anyhow, I was in shock when I learned that he and his wife named their daughter ELLA Grace. Beautiful name! Obviously no one knew that I had picked ELLA as well for my future daughter. When the time came for us to name our little girl, the name ELLA kept on coming to my head. When DH learned that Ella Sophia was the name that I had picked even before we met, he said "let's go for it and forget about my cousin, we barely see him and his family and if there are two Ellas in the family, so what?" Well, that solved my problem. My MIL is a very rigid woman, so when she learned that we have named our baby ELLA Sophia, she said "But Joel's (DH's cousin) and Shaleen's daughter is ELLA Grace". DH responded to her "oh well, we chose the name first, they just didn't know, so why do we need to give it up?" Hooray to my husband! If you don't see the first cousin and if DH forgot about having a niece with the name of Bailee, can you still name your daughter Bailee? . . . just a thought.

Christie, I think Grace is lovely. I know a little girl named Grace and it suits her so well. We call her Gracie most of the time. She is just adorable. I vote yes on grace! How about Grace Amelia or Grace Victoria or even Grace Ryan. If you are havinga hard time with middle names I think it is nice to give a family name as a middle name. Do you or DH have any family names that you think might sound good?
Tabitha and Amy you ladies look wonderful! I am glad your back is better Tabitha... Amy, isn't pregnancy glamorous...I mean leakage and all?
