Ladies - all of your bumps look fabulous! I ran out of time today to take some pics...but I will definitely do it this week. I know I'll regret it if I don't have some bump pics to look back on.

Claudia & Holly - congrats on passing your glucose tests!! And, good luck on your results Netty...I'm sure you'll be just fine. I am waiting to schedule my follow-up 3-hour test. I think I will do it next Saturday.

Christie - I'm so sorry about the baby-name disappointment. I'm with the other ladies, if this is a member of the family you don't see often, can't you use the same name? I also love the name Grace, so I think your little girl will have a beautiful name no matter what you decide to do!

Holly & Claudia - It was about 98degrees here today, but tomorrow is supposed to be the awful day. Thank goodness my office is very well air conditioned! Stay cool, ladies! And, Claudia, try to send some of that SF fog over our way. :-)

Laura,
I hope you pass your 3-hour test again with flying colors. BTW, did you work on the nursery over the weekend? I can't wait to see pics of the progess you have made.

Okay ladies, I have a question to ask. . . and I just don't know how to put it without being gross, so here it goes. . .for the last week, I have been feeling some pressure in my anus area, it is more like a shooting sensation, not painful but uncomfortable. It only lasts a few minutes and it is usually after a meal. My bowel movements are regular, and I have never had hemorrhoids ever in my life so I don't know if that is it. I touched it down there just to see if I feel something different and nope, everything feels the same. I will make sure to mention this to my doctor this week when I go for my next follow up. What could it possibly be? Internal hemorrhoids? yikes!

netty, i have no idea, but i would think that if you had internal hemroids you would be in more pain when you went to the bathroom. maybe everything is just really getting squished in there and when your body is digesting your food, there is more pressure? who knows. check w/ your dr.

i officially declare the following:

AS OF THIS POINT ON, NOTHING IS TMI ON THIS THREAD!

Amen to the no more TMI! we are well past that point for sure! Netty, i get a similar pain at times, usually in my vagina, it lasts a few seconds and then goes away. I chalk it up to "growing pains".

Well the fog did burn off for sure. It was nowhere near 98 degress (= state of emergency in SF) but a nice day nonetheless. Of course I was inside most of the day. I finally bought a baby book and started to work on putting our ultrasound pictures in there. I am doing it all from scratch. Scrapbooking is pretty fun - never something I would have envisioned myself doing but I had a great time doing it today!

Netty - Thanks for the well-wishes for my glucose test!! We didn't accomplish as much as we hoped to this weekend on the nursery. My DH did put in new baseboards and we deep cleaned the carpet...but that's about it. I just wish I could help more. I feel bad watching him do all the hard work himself. Hopefully we will make some more progress next weekend!

As for the pain-in-the-rear question, I've had something similar and I think mine is just horrible gas pain. The other morning it was so bad I was doubled over and gripping the counter in our kitchen. Every time it happens, I end up having to go #2 within 10-15 minutes. I'm not constipated, so that's why I'm assuming it's gas. You should definitely talk to your doctor if it's worrying you.

Claudia - I'm so impressed that you are scrapbooking! That is one of those things I have always wanted to do & just never found the time or motivation. I think I'm missing the "craft" gene. :-)

Thanks ladies! And I am totally for the "NOTHING IS TMI"

I have been a long-time member of the "missing the craft gene club" . The only way I can get inspired is when I see other people's work, like Amy's beautiful onesies and photos of nurseries in progress. I have all the materials ready to work on my onesies, but this weekend has just been crazy. DH and I decided to take an extra day off today but there are small projects that we need to finish. If I can't help him, I will work on the onesies and I promise to post pics.

Claudia, I have never done any scrapbooking in my life and I don't think I am creative enough to produce a decent artwork. I am so looking forward to see what you do and if there are any other gals doing anything creative or non creative at all, please POST photos.

Well, they live here too and I really am not sure how old she is. We only see them maybe twice a year at family dinners, I really didn't know they had named her Bailey. I am sortof wondering if they call her Bailey. Anywho, Dh and MIL are all for me naming her Bailee anyway, so we will see. I have to think on it for awhile, just don't want to regret it!!

All of you ladies look so great!!! Beautiful baby bumps!!

Christie- If your DH was real close to his cousin then I would not do it but it seems they are not. I have many cousins with the same name. If it does'nt bother you I say go for it. It is a great name. Spell it a little different.

Christie - I agree that if it is your name don't worry that there are others in the family. My dh and I decided a long time ago (about when his mom passed) that if we had a girl it would be Katie - well, it took us a while to get pregnant and in that time a Katelyn, Kayla, and Kaylee joined the family but we are still going with it - confusion and all. My sister's little girl Katelyn and ours Katie will see each other a lot but oh well!

Claudia - have not heard that about swimming but I did discover this weekend that swimming works miracles for my never-ending rib pain. I don't know why I seem to be such a wimp but it is really ridiculous pain but when I am weightless in the water in feels so, so much better.

Laura - good luck on your test. Mine is on Wednesday and I am officially in carb load mode :-).

Everyone's belly's look fantastic! I found a sale this weekend at Pickles and Ice Cream looking for a dress for my showers and I have to say that a really casual cotton dress is very comfortable at this point - Amy yours is so cute - mine are cute in theory but when you put my ginormous belly in them they are not so cute!!! I should have more pictures after this weekend since it is my first shower this Saturday, woohoo!!!

I still haven't bought a baby book because my mom asked a couple of times if I had one and I think she might be getting one - she is super crafty and I am not so much - I am really embarrased for her to see the name signs I made, but everytime I go in to Michael's I get anxious to put together the scrapbook - I think I am just anxious to meet these two but that's a whole nother story!!

It will be very exciting to have stuff and to really begin to prepare the nursery. I know that it is a bit early seeming but I have one this Saturday (a friends couples shower), next Saturday (family), and then one in August with all of the ladies I play tennis with. I can't really stand for extended periods of time but it is really fun to have something to look forward to and it will be fun to see everyone even if I am just perched in a chair! I am getting really nervous now since my doctor said 32 or 33 weeks, I won't even make it to the third shower if that happens!

We had some people over last night and my dh had some drinks and when we were going to bed after everyone left he said well, I guess I need to stop drinking soon in case we have to drive to the hospital - that is a scary, crazy realization!

I am definitely not that crafty. I went to the craft store and bought a "baby book". I put it in quotes because the book itself has no baby to it. Brown leatther with some embossed flowers, but I just didn;t want it to be too cutsey for some reason. It has refillable pages so that I can keep adding. I bought some craft paper for scapbooking (there are so many tools and embellishments you can buy I was completely overwhelmed). I skipped all the tools and bought some glue and made one page last night with the paper and our first US photos. No too impressive but not bad and easy to do in front of the television or listening to music. We do have some stencils at home so I might try to use those and get fancier on subsequent pages.

Christie, good for you for sticking with the name you chose. I know if we tried to rename Natasha now it would just seem weird since we call her that all the time.

Shellie that is so funny, I never would have thought of that! In the next couple of months I will have to tell DP she will need to comply with a 1 drink max when we go out! Oh, but there are some days I just long to come home from work and have a cocktail. A girl can dream can't she?

Here is a link on how to turn a breech baby. They mention swimming and doing headstands/summersaults in the water.

Ladies, you all look fabulous with you bellies! It's so lovely to see how different everyone's belly is too...... with this pg I look like I have stuck a basketball up my top! With dd I was much lower and wider......

Fossie - why did your doc say only 32-33 weeks??? Did I miss that post?

It's so exciting that you all have your showers upcoming! Enjoy enjoy! We aren't having one, mainly because it's not tradition in England, plus a lot of my friends and all my side of the family are in England, and anyway, we already have most of the things we need from dd!

Good for you for scrapbooking, I did one for DD's 1st birthday of her first year, and I'm so glad I did! It's sooo special! I'm not all that crafty either but I have decided that I will definately do that for every child, a scrapbook of their first year of life!

Hope you're all feeling well..... I'm starting to notice some ligament pain in my groin/inside legs, and feeling a little more pressure down there. Other than that I'm doing fine though!

Here's an almost 28 week pic of me....

You all look fantastic! I keep forgetting to take a pics of the belly, I need to soon though.

As for shooting pains, I have them occasionally in the groin/labia area. My understanding it that it is likely round ligament pain (apparently the round ligament extends all the way down to the labia), so not to be too worried. I am sure that you can feel that pain in the rectal area as well since it is all very interconnected.

I hope you all have wonderful showers - they are so much fun and it is great to start getting all that baby stuff! We haven't done anything to the babies' room yet as it is currently our home office, but we are finishing the basement and moving the office down there, but thanks to the SLOW contractors, nothing has been happening. So we have unassembled cribs and bedding etc sitting in our hallway along with a toilet, shower, tile etc for the new bathroom. It's hard to walk around. Hopefully it will all be done before babies gets here. I am so envious of all your productivity! Scrapbooking, I would love to do that! But I don't...

Had an US today - babies look good. The boy is 2 lbs 3 oz and girl is 2 lbs 7 oz (and breeech). Otherwise all looked well. Cervix still shortening, now 3.2cm although they say it is normal to shorten at this stage.
