Glad to see you back Amy and hope you're ok!

BZOE- happy to hear the contractions have stopped!

Shellie - hope you had a lovely baby shower!

Tabitha - eggs will be fine. My doctor said to eat normally ( I had oatmeal and banana), just to avoid very sugary things like orange juice. Good luck..... and congrats to everyone who's passed! Sorry for those of you who had to do the 3 hour tests! YUCK.... but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good results!

I'm finally going to get paint for the girls room tomorrow! Yea! And I found these gorgeous decals that I want to put on the walls..... what do you think??

These are just some examples....there are loads of adorable ones to choose from, but I'm still not decided on which or which color yet.

Caroline - I love the decals! Those will look awesome!!!

The shower was fantastic but certainly exhausting. We didn't leave until midnight or so and my body and the babies are telling me today that I tried to do way too much yesterday. I got a lot of great things and even some of the bigger stuff that I didn't expect at this shower like my double pack and play, the double stroller, the sweet peace swing, and then some other stuff like both bouncer chairs, mobiles, baby bjorns, a monitor with cameras and wide screen, etc., etc., It was amazing and we feel so blessed to have such caring friends. I was surprised that we got very few clothing items, and not really many 0-3 months at all - I guess everyone thought that others would buy that stuff but if that is what we end up needing to buy I am quite fine with that! We also got no lotion, shampoo, anything of that nature - which is also fine since that is easier to buy but I purchased a doll to try to start training my dog and was going to put lotion on the doll and assumed I would get some, oh well.

I have my family shower next weekend and then I think I will have a good idea of what I need to get, what to take back, etc. I am making a list of essentials and things that I will need to purchase if I don't get like mattresses, bottles, breast pump but I really am amazed at how generous everyone was and how fast we got pretty prepared with stuff!

Shellie - It sounds like your shower was wonderful! It's great that you received so many of your big essential items. You're right, buying clothes & bath stuff is easy. :-)

Holly - Your pictures of Jaden are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing.

So, I passed 3 of the 4 parts of my 3-hour glucose test. From what I've read, that means I do not have GD. I'm still really confused about my one odd reading, so I'm looking forward to talking to my doctor tomorrow.

Also, I have had mildly high blood pressure at my last 2 doctor appointments, so my doc has been a little concerned. I have insisted, though, that it is just nerves - ever since failed IF attempts, the m/c and chem. preg, I get horribly nervous when I go to the doctor. So, I've been testing my BP at Safeway and it has been perfect. PHEW! That has given me a lot of peace of mind.

Hello Ladies, and THANKS for the compliments! I find DH looking at me in a very lovely way . He definitely loves my full figure, lol!

Very busy thread and lots to catch up. . . .

JenD, Good luck on Friday and let's hope for good results.

Shellie, CONGRATS on passing your test Your shower sounds like it was fun and it brought the big ticket items, yay!

Amy, you passed your test and that is great! Welcome back How are you feeling? I suppose you are resting nicely

Claudia, I have something similar to what you had. Mine is an awful pressure, it feels as if something is pulling from my belly button to my vagina and it is awful. I had twice this week and if I eat more than I should, the pressure is even worse. I can't stand rubbing cocoa butter around my belly button because it is so sensitive in that area.

Laura, let's hope for passing results

Melissa, good luck on August 1st

BZOE, glad to hear that contractions stopped. Baby Zane needs to stay put a bit longer. Good luck on 7/23

Holly, baby Jaden looks so dreamy and comfy in there! awww *

Tabitha, when I went for my glucose test, I had two boiled eggs, one wheat toast and warm milk for breakfast. An hour after, I went to the lab and they gave me the small bottle of orange drink to finish it within five minutes and then wait for an hour to draw the blood. While there, I finished reading three magazines, so bring something to read or keep you entertained for the hour wait. Good luck tomorrow for good test results and let's hope the placenta has moved where it should be .

Caroline, those decals are beautiful. My faves are the one where the two children are in a swing/tree and the other one is where the little girl is drawing.

Celeste, the doctor who saw me was not my regular doctor, he just said "you are measuring big and we need to find out why". I failed to ask what was big for him.

I now know what the fundal height measurement is and it seems to be that the centimeters correlate to the number of weeks and can vary by three weeks. However, I have a question to ask all of you and this is after I spoke with my friend who is pregnant and due in August. She told me that another friend of hers is pregnant and due at the same time and this friend has always measured bigger than her. Her friend went through IVF and had ICSI done and was told by her doctor that ICSI babies tend to be bigger. This friend says that she read a study that said ICSI babies are like 3cm bigger when born on average, and an inch or two taller as adults.
Have you heard of this relationship between ICSI and big babies? I had ICSI and AH for both of my cycles.

Okay, we are hitting a milestone. How many of you have entered or about to enter the third trimester? It feels so unreal and real at the same time. It was not long ago that we were posting our results and now to be where we are, just brings happy tears to my eyes.

ladies!

That is very interesting about IVF/ICIS babies. I don't know anything about that...but I hope you aren't to concerned. I bet your little one is absolutely fine! When do you see your doctor?

I am SO excited that we are entering into our 3rd trimester. It does seem like yesterday that we were hoping & praying for our Betas to double & to see strong heartbeats at our first u/s. What a jouney it has been!

Caroline - I particularly like the first one of the tree and kids swinging!

Netty - your posts always make me smile! I hadn't heard of the connection, but it's definately interesting. Are you worried about your size?

Yep, we're all getting close to the next milestone. For me, for some reason 30 wks has been the next one I'm looking forward to. No real reason, it's just been a big marker for me. I guess it's because I see it as being 3/4 of the way done.

Remember when Claudia ( I think it was you) started talking about realizing that our DP/DH's won't be able to keep drinking a whole lot in case they have to take us to the hospital? I had a moment last night. I drove into San Francisco for a music concert and in addition to my standard ID, ATM card and cash, I thought, "you know, I better through my Kaiser card in there just in case!" LOL!

Laura, I was posting last night and obviously missed the results from your test. While posting, I fell asleep - I think twice -, you know when you are reading or watching tv and then your head bounces back, yeah! that is how I knew I had to get the posting done before tucking into bed.
Well, it is good to know you don't have GD, but what's up with that reading? Please let us know what your dr says.
As to the big babies = ICSI, I am not concerned. One, because even if I am growing a little bruiser inside, I will not be pushing her out, so that will not be a big ouch down there for me, yay for c-sections. Two, we are all short in my family, even DH is not that tall, so any extra inches to give a decent height to my little one, hooray for that!
Last Friday I called my doctor's office and spoke to the nurse to find out if the dr who saw me wrote down the measurement from my last visit. She told me "no" and asked me not to be worried because the true measurement will be done at my next u/s, on 7/29.

Holly, thanks! That is too funny about bringing the Kaiser card with you.

I am shopping around for new phones and I am not sure if the new iPhone is what I need. I want to make sure that I don't miss any posts and be better connected with all of you. Any recommendations?

I just got back from the hospital, and it looks as though my placenta has moved, yippee!! Of course the u/s tech couldn't say for sure, the doctor has to make that determination, and so on. But she said that it looked to her like it had moved. Also, after she got all the pictures she needed, we looked at the baby for a while, it was wonderful! I will post a picture later. It looks like he has chubby cheeks, and he would not let go of his boy part.

As far as the glucose test, I will get those results at my dr's appt tomorrow. I told the lady doing the blood draw what I had for breakfast, and she said most doctors tell their patients to fast before this test, so who knows what the results will be.

Holly - I love the 3d pictures, so cute!!

Netty - I haven't heard that about ICSI babies, that's interesting. Well, at least you already know you will be having a c-section, and I am sure everything will be fine.

Amy - glad to see you are back and feeling better!

I think this has already been asked, but when does the third trimester actually begin?

Laura - glad to hear that you passed your 3-hr test.

Laura so great to hear you passed! I think that is why the 3 hour is so much more accurate - if you get one off reading it is just an anomaly and they have more info to go by so they can really tell how your body is processing the sugars. I think it sounds like you are good to go!

We didn't do ICSI but if the height thing is true that's pretty good! We are shorties who wish to be taller! I have heard that if you have a boy he is always taller than the mother though so there is that - at least Ty will be at least 5'7"!

My belly button is really sore too, actually my whole body is sore - I never realized that was part of the reason for the pregnancy waddle!!!

Anyone know that their babe has had hiccups. I haven't felt anything resembling hiccups and everything I've read said they should be happening soon. The things I am reading have also said to begin doing "kick counts." ANyone's doctor tell them to start doing that - I tried last night but it says to pick a time that they are typically active and do it for an hour at that time but mine aren't consistently active at any particular time - they say that I will start noticing a schedule but not true so far!

Yay, almost third trimester - I'm so excited but for some reason I too have been waiting for 30 weeks, don't know why other than I guess at that point I will only have six or seven weeks left!

The last week or so I have felt sick to my stomach and just a little off - anyone experiencing nausea or just overall yuckiness? I am thinking it is just a by-product of third trimester or that I got off easy in the first trimester with morning sickness :-).

Shellie - My doctor told me to begin kick counts at 28 weeks and I was given my kick-count card at my last appointment.

I haven't felt anything like hiccups, either. Some of my friends said they never felt their baby have hiccups....I guess not all little ones get them.

I have felt run down & have had periods of nausea during the past 2 or 3 weeks. I just got a call from my doctor this morning that I am borderline anemic, so they think that is probably why I haven't been feeling great. I am going to start iron supplements tonight. Has your doctor checked your levels recently?
