hey ladies - just checked in real quick before I leave work, it's been a busy day and I need to eat!!!!!
Just had to comment that it seems like last night was the pain in the a#$ night for many of us! I was tempted to get online last night at 3:30am when I was wide awake thanks to Jaden's kicking. I didn't sleep well from about the 1:30am pee trip until 3am because he was having a dance party in there. Finally I gave up and started watching tv, at which point, of course, he settles down but now I'm wide awake! About 30 mins later I finally start to get sleepy......at the same time he starts kicking again!!!!!! Thank goodness my first appt was at 10am so I could sleep in a little! be back online later tonight!

Hello Ladies!
Just wanted to drop a quick line (ugh! I hate to post and run). Since Monday, I have been very tired and my nights are sleepless so as soon as I get home from work, I have dinner and go rest/sleep. I feel like a walking zombie. I guess this is now very common for some of us. . . hope to have energy tonight to post and chat. Also, this entire week will be pure heat wave. . .blech!

Netty, I know how you feel!! I am the same way, I get home and I am dead tired. Then, I do not sleep well at night, poor dh has gone to sleeping on the couch due to my poor bed manners.
I read all the post but I am sure I will miss something. Tabitha-Great news on your visit. Wow, measuring that many weeks you must have a big baby in there!!! Melissa- Love the nursery!! How creative you are!! Fossie-Glad to hear that all is well. Hopefully your iron is good, those supplements stink!! Amy-The blahs, I have them all the time. I was beginning to think I was the only one that had them. I guess I just started early!! Glad to hear that you are feeling better health wise anyway!! Laura- The sleepless nights are endless. I have a mountain of pillows and it doesn't help me. I guess we are now getting ready for the sleepless nights with the babies!! At least we have each other to turn to at 3 am in the morning!!! Holly-Love the pics!! Now I am so excited for mine on the 27th. I can't wait to see her!! Congrats to everyone on passing their GD test. I will have mine on Monday so hopefully I will pass too with flying colors!!! Work is crazy, they are trying to convince me to come back early after having the baby. I have been telling them AT LEAST 6 weeks, and I may take more. I feel like they are trying to pressure me and I won't let it happen. Our current comptroller doesn't know how to do the everyday stuff so she is sweating not having anyone to do it for her and all the work she has given to me she will have to take back. I think it is funny, I just smile!!! We have two new office managers and I have to do the Sales tax for 4 stores before Friday and all the payroll quarterlys before the end of the month so I can't post much at work. I will definitely check in in the mornings though!! Hope you are all having a good week!

I apologize ahead of time if I leave anything out...I'm 3 days behind on reading. I've been swamped!
I heard that if you're having a boy, you CRAVE sweets. That is true for me. I have to have at least one Dr Pepper and chocolate bar a day. Or I go for some sweet tea. With my DD, I wanted steamed veggies and meat. I, too, have to eat small meals but several throughout the day. I get that numb, tingly feeling at the top of my stomach if I eat too much. Baby Zane has the hiccups all the time! It's hilarious watching my stomach jump all over from them. You can tell it makes him mad because he'll kick and throw his arms around while he has them. My contractions have started back. I'm gonna have to take it more easy. I thought I could be superwoman and work 8 hours today(hairdresser) and came home and had them every 12 minutes..and still having them. Tabitha-sounds like a big ol boy in there! Have they talked about moving your due date up? Amy-I've been getting nausiated more so than usual. I've also had some headaches. I even puked last Saturday after taking my prenatal vitamin. Holly-I hope my little one takes a good pic next time so you can see him. I love LOVE your pictures!! Isn't it so much fun! Are you gonna do 3D? Well, I'm getting ready to start my 29th week! YEAH!! I have my glucose test next Thursday and am ready to get it over with! I've been having some WEIRD dreams here lately...anyone else??

Tabitha - I have heard that it is a very inaccurate measurement and that they can be off one way or another by weeks each time. I do think, though, that it is perfectly fine to be measuring ahead and no real reason to worry - either a large baby, position, or something like fibroids that you didn't know you had - I think it is great - the bigger the better if you don't have GD!!!

I started my iron supplements last night & I do feel my energy getting better. I don't feel as exhausted at the end of the day which is great. I was told to buy the "Slow Release FE" formula, which is supposed to minimize side effects. I take it at night with orange juice & have yet to feel any side effects.
BZOE - I'm sorry to hear your contractions are back. Definitely take it easy!! Christie - I hope that you only go back to work when you are good & ready. They will have to make due without you for as long as you choose to stay home with your little one. I feel like we've all fought so long & hard to finally have our babies and we should take as much as we want to or can to be with them. :-) Happy Tuesday!

A big hello to my fellow October ladies!
It sounds like most of us are all experiencing sleeping issues. I'm in the same boat as well. My hats off to all you who are able to continue to work. I am too, but just barely and I doubt I will for much longer! I'm having high blood pressure issues. Thankfully though the doctor ruled out preeclampsia! But he has put me on blood pressure medicine. I woke up this morning and my BP was 169/119. I couldn't believe it as I had just been sleeping! Needless to say, I took my first dose of the BP medicine. I hope this gets under control soon or my doctor has already threatened to put me on strict bedrest. He has also already warned me that he may have to induce me at 36 weeks if the BP doesn't go down. So for now, I have been bumped up to seeing my doctor once a week instead of once a month. Congrats to everyone who has passed their GD test! I took the 1-hour glucose test yesterday and should get my results sometime today. Bzoe - I'm sorry you are having contractions! Please take it as easy as you can! Amy - thank you so much for all you have done with our order! I go on vacation Friday! The doctor said the only reason he isn't stopping me from going (we are driving to my folks house in Texas) was because he thinks the relaxation may help my BP! My friends and family in Texas are throwing me a very early baby shower on July 25th so I am certainly glad I get to go! We are also doing the 3D/4D ultrasound on July 29th! I can't wait to see my baby girl again!

Dellemma - glad to hear that it isn't preeclampsia and that you got some meds that will hopefully get it under control
I am trying to work as long as possible but it now seems very unrealistic that I will make it through August - I had high hopes that I could work through August and deliver in September - ha! My doc thinks I will deliver in August and my dh wants me to go on bedrest now. I am so swollen by the end of the day and so, so sore but I really want to hold out until August 15th - I probably just need to get realistic and start arranging things that I can do from home on a laptop in bed and hope that my boss agrees so I can still get paid!

Funny, I just got this in my email:
Obsessing over when to stop working? Maybe you want to stay at your desk until the very last possible minute, or maybe you're dying to be done already. Our advice? It may go against those strong nesting urges, but play it by ear -- it's really hard to plan too far ahead. When you'll quit depends on the kind of pregnancy you're having, and that can turn on a dime. But you have to tell your boss something, right? Give her a sense of your ideal game plan -- "I'd like to work until one week before my due date" or "I'm hoping to stay in the office pretty much until I go into labor" -- but stress that you'll have to keep things loose based on how you feel as your due date approaches. One way or another (either your body will tell you or baby will make the decision for you), you'll know when it's time. And then? It'll be the countdown to: "Hello, gorgeous!"

Fossie - funny you posted that. I actually had a conversation yesterday with my boss and said I was going to try to work about 2 weeks before my due date (since I'm probably going to have a c-section it'll be easier to predict when I'll work til). I want to have a week or 2 before the baby's born in order to have a little time alone with DH before the baby comes. I did tell her that it could change depending on how I felt as I went on.
She is pretty flexible since I am really just working a flex schedule having resigned from my positon back in October. I plan on taking 12 weeks off once the baby is born, but may do consulting work from home after about 6 weeks.

hi ladies - I apologise for posting by issue rather than by name but I just can't concentrate that much today ;-)
Sleep - Ugggg! at least it's good to know many of us are in the same boat. I thought about it last night and I think the nights I sleep better on the couch it's because I'm sitting up more which is more comfortable than a mound of pillows in bed some nights. I slept more last night but unfortunately it resulted in nightmares of losing jaden's heartbeat. I haven't had those in a long while. When I woke up this morning I was stressed until he finally woke up and gave me his "good morning" kick. I hate to admit it, but I had some coffee this morning just so he would be more active and make me feel better today. 3D - thanks everyone for the compliments. It was such a wonderful experience since all the local grandparents got to go. I haven't figured out how to post the dvd to youtube, when I do I'll let you know. BZOE, Shellie ect - I'm sorry your having contractions, BP issues and swelling. I guess as we begin to enter the 3rd trimester this is where we start the "the joys of pregnancy" mantra ;-) Work - another Uggg! I hear you on the issue of when to stop work. I've been saying that "I hope to work until Oct 1st" but that everyone needs to understand that starting Sept 11th (a month before my due date) we'll have to play it by ear. To make things more difficult, it looks like I'm taking a new position before Jaden is born so there's been lots of negotiation mtgs and then based on how that shakes out in the next two weeks, I'll have to re-think how maternity leave will look for me. Hang in there ladies!

I have really been obsessing about the whole maternity leave thing but I have to keep telling myself that the babies are what is most important and everything will work out one way or another. I just made a list of things that I need to transfer to my dh's laptop and things I need to print out so I can work from home and have an easier time convincing my boss that things can get done from there and that he doesn't need to start deducting my 6 weeks pay just yet!

Well, my comptroller just came in my office today and told me she set me up on gotomypc.com so that I can work from home during maternity leave or before if necessary. I told her I would only work during maternity leave if I feel like it and if I get paid for it. But is nice to have that option. I commute an hour and ten minutes or so one way and I am sure that is going to get old fast in the next month or so. I am already uncomfortable by the time I get home or to work and I sit most of the day anyway so it is going to be interesting to see how long I can still come to work!!
