Tabitha - He's getting stronger!

Caroline - I definately feel cramping after sitting too long and then he just feels heavy until I move around a little.

The shower - After a little pregnancy induced emotional breakdown when we couldn't get on the road in time, I managed to pull myself together by the time we got to the shower 2 hours later. After that, the day was wonderful. There were about 15 of us including a close family friend with her 6 wk old that I hadn't seen yet. I got a great diaper bag from my MIL and finally got to see the baby quilt my mother made for the baby. My camera dock is at the office, so when I go back to work tomorrow I'll be able to post pics.

Back to relaxing today. I'm sore from the long ride there and back yesterday and just tired in general!

Tabitha, I am so happy he is getting stronger. I can't wait until you get to take him home. His little ear will heal and he'll be fine. You are in my thoughts.

Christie, you look awesome!!!!!

Caroline. I get occasional pressure in my pelvis too. I made a deal with myself not to be concerned unless it is persistent. If it is you should probably call your OB to make sure it is not something to worry about. I get a lot of BH contractions. Do you think that is what you are having? Or is it round ligament pain?

Holly I am so happy you had a good shower!

We had a crazy weekend - the wedding reception was wonderful except it started out with me getting a migraine - ended up not being too bad though so the day was still lovely. I feel so hung over today from all the activity - it was just non-stop all weekend with family/friends and I probably did not get enough rest. I just want to sleep and have some time to myself!!!!

When is everyone starting their maternity leave?

hahaha Claudia - I know what you mean about feeling hungover after too much activity! I'm enjoying a lazy day watching tv and waiting on hold to make some changes to our phone & satellite plans. I'm so glad I thought ahead to take today off.

Maternity leave - I'm hoping to make it until Oct 1st (10 days before my due date).

Today is my first day of working from home! It seems to be working out ok although I have yet to get a return email or call from my boss - I have had questions and calls and emails from others in the office so at least I know that people know that I am not there :-)! I have actually been more productive today than I typically am in the office because I don't want them to regret letting me do this! I plan on working from home through August and then taking maternity leave officially September 1st.

I just told my boss my last day will be sept 26th (2 weeks prior to due date), but that I go to my maternity benefits workshop next wednesday so I am not sure how that might change things. I really think I would like to have some time to myself at home before the baby comes.

Hi all,

Had an appointment today with the high risk OB. Everything looks good with Amara she is 15 inches and weighs 2lbs 15oz. Bad news was I failed my 1 hour test so off I go on Wednesday for my 3 hour test.

Maternity leave - I plan on working until 2 weeks before the c-section. I meet with my OB this Friday and am going to see if we can get a date for it. I too want a little time for me & DH before she's born.

Holly - glad to hear your shower went well. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Fossie - glad to hear things are going well working from home.

I am planning to work through Friday, October 10th so that will be my last day if Ella decides to stay until her delivery date, which is October 13th (Monday), so that is when my FMLA/Maternity will start. My DH wants me to start earlier but I don't think I will be able to, unless things change drastically and the doctor wants me off the job before October 10th.

I am taking a week off the first week in September.

Holly & Claudia - I'm so glad you both enjoyed your festivities this weekend!!

I plan on beginning maternity leave on October 6th (9 days before my due date). I sure hope I can make it because I have a huge meeting on October 2nd that I feel I need to be at. Push come to shove, I could probably work from home as my due date grows closer.

Shellie - I'm glad working from home is going well today!

Oh Melissa, I am sorry about your glucose test, I am sure you will pass the 3 hour.

Well, I passed mine, but my iron is low so I am trying to control it with food instead of supplements. I already can't go to the bathroom, so there is no way I can take supplements.

I am trying to work until I can't or until I go into labor. I want as much time at home with her as I can get. I will probably start working from home and from one of our other locations soon, but as far as leave, I don't plan to go out until little Bailee shows her face!! Of course, our babies determine how and when we go leave!!!

I am glad everyone had a good weekend.

Sorry I've been MIA. I try to hurry and check in but never have the time to actually write!

I passed my 3-hour glucose test!

I was so excited to be able to take a pic of the nursery when my baskets were SUPPOSE to come in Friday but only two showed up so I'm still waiting.

Tabitha-I just love seeing those pictures of Baby George! His sunglass pic is priceless. I pray that he grows stronger and stronger everyday. I hope you're doing well, too!

Melissa-hang in there for the 3 hour. It wasn't bad at all...more likely than not...you'll pass!!

Can't wait to start seeing some shower pics on here! Mine is the 17th. I feel kinda guilty having one since I had a baby girl one 5 years ago! Oh well, times are different now I guess. I can't wait though! I've noticed that little boy stuff is not nearly cute as little girl stuff!

My doc said if this baby doesn't come sooner (like he has wanted to), he would induce me 10 days early. I hate to do that but with my work schedule that would be awesome! Well, as long as my body was showing some kind of sign it wanted to go into labor.

I have a higher risk of going into preterm labor since I work on my feet. That's what sucks about maternity leave. Since I'm self employed...if I'm not there, there is NO money coming in. BLAH! Maybe I should make my customers pay anyway!!

Caroline-I've been having lots of pressure down below! And if I sneeze, I get a sharp HORRIBLE pain on my left side down low. Has this happened to you?

Well, I know I've left a lot out but know that I pray for you guys every night! Hope you have a great Tuesday!!
Brandy

Tabitha - Sorry so late in posting, I have been away on vacation. He is so beautiful! I'm so glad to hear that he got that tube out. He sounds like he is progressing each day. I wish you all good health and a speedy trip home together. Take time to get yourself healed as well - you'll need lots of energy to keep up with him once he goes home. Congratulations!

My last day of work will be 9/7, I hope to make it that long. I will be 35 1/2 weeks at that point. Just don't want to have to make up the work after the babies come.
I hope you are all doing well and surviving the heat!

Christie, cook your food in a ast iron pan. The food will leach some iron from the pan.

congrats on the passed glucose tests!

I just got married and I had to take my rings off yesterday because I was afraid if I waited any longer I would't be able to get them off at all! I think I will put them on a chain.

Thanks Claudia, I didn't know that. I will certainly try it!! Anything beats having to take iron supplements!
