No suggestions from me - it is so frustrating! I just can't get comfortable, achy, burpy, thirsty, peeing - it all adds up to about 2 hours of sleep at 10 minute increments! I wonder if sleep-aids are ok to take while preggo and if they would work?

shellie - when I was in the hospital (before the baby was born) I was given benadryl at night, and I was offered ambien. it wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it.

Celeste, thanks for the reassurance that things will get better with our DHs. I know I can't compare this but I do remember this very clearly. Three years ago, I insisted so much, begged and begged to DH to allow us welcome a puppy to our family. He said NO loud and clear and basically I went against his wishes, mainly because his main excuse for saying no was this "my mom and sister do not think it is a good idea to bring a dog to the house". WTF! First of all, MIL and SIL don't decide what goes on in our house, and because DH gave me the wrong reason not to bring a puppy, I went ahead and brought a puppy a home. I prepared DH for three weeks that a puppy was coming on Friday, 10/28/05, he was not interested at all. He said, "I don't want to see that dog and if I smell pee or poop in the house, I will bring the dog myself to the pound". He was totally not into the puppy or wanting to know where the puppy would sleep, eat, pee, train, etc.
Well, that was then three years ago, not only Loui, our first fur baby has DH wrapped around his paw but a year later in 2006, we added another puppy. Now we have two fur kiddos and he can't imagine life without his 'boys'. . .well, not those 'boys' but his puppy boys.
I am now sure that DH will be very involved with Ella once she makes her grand entrance. If only we could have our DHs be pregnant for one day so they can bond earlier.

Caroline, you made me giggle with the food thing. I am happy when my belly is full and very grumpy when it is empty.

Laura, dahlin', I don't know what to suggest because I am getting tired myself of sleeping on the left side. I think the left side of my head is getting flat. My left ear has been sore for weeks already. I hope the sleeping arrangements get better or at least that your doctor offers a good solution.

I am now seeing my OB/GYN every other week.

Tabitha - good to know. I am seeing my ob weekly so I will definitely ask on Wednesday - I just think there comes a point when you say enough is enough and do something about it!

Netty - my dh was resistant to getting a pooch too because we didn't have a fence, were never home, blah, blah, blah - well, when we finally got a house and fence we got little Marley and now dh carries her around the house singing to her, lets her sleep in the middle of the bed between us and feels guilty if he doesn't let her ride with him whenever he goes somewhere, more often than not if you see him driving around she is in the passenger seat! We know they are good guys or we wouldn't be married to them, it's just that they can never understand what it is really like to be preggo - I guess I can sorta relate to that since I had no clue what it was going to be like either!!! Claudia - I'm sure you face some of the same challenges with your wife (isn't that exciting to say!) - male or female or just never pregnant I just don't think there is any way whatsoever to know exactly what is going on, what to say, how you feel, etc.

Oh Shellie, how true that is. These fur babies steal our hearts. I even think that DH is more sensitive if I kiss one of my dogs more than the other or if I dare to give a tiny bit of more attention to one and not equal to both.
My two pooches used to sleep in between us as well but I had to stop that for two reasons: 1)with DH snoring away and my two boys doing the same, it was driving me crazy not to know whom I needed to kick to make the snoring stop. 2) my oldest dog needed to sleep right in the middle and although he is a small dog - 23 lbs - he became a real bully in bed, even tried to spoon me . . . naughty boy! It was just so funny.

Today, I was asked by three coworkers if I had a good night sleep last night, I didn't realize that my eyes look very tired and yes, I am yawning today more than ever. I will join the team and ask for some sleeping aid to help me make it through the night without having one eye open.

hi ladies! I hate to admit it, but I finally got a good night sleep Saturday night (don't be too jealous, I was up a million times last night ) and the extra sleep made a huge improvement to my mood with DH Sunday. Plus, he held true to our "date day" and we had lunch together, went and saw Dark Knight and then hung out in the evening so between the combination of things I am feeling better.

Also - for those of you that are list people, I sat down and made a list of all the things I've been stressing to get done. It help me realize (1) there are not as many things as I thought, (2) for various reasons there are not too many I or DH can do RIGHT NOW (3) just having the list calmed my anxiety.

Before this, my brain just kept saying "we have 9 weekends before the due date and 3 are already filled up!!!!"

On a funny note - Jaden was freaking out at the movies! All the trailers with loud bass had him jumping all around, and then the same was true during the actual movie whenever there was a big action scene!

Holly - how funny! Luke was going CRAZY when we saw "Dark Knight" a few weeks ago. I guess our boys are already into the action flicks!

Well, it's about 10:20pm here and I am no where near sleepy. I don't think I've ever truly had insomnia before...and I hope I never have it again. I hope you are all resting well!

We went to see Pineapple Express and I couldn't even concentrate on the movie because they both were moving around so much! Too funny, the loud noises must get them.

I had a wonderful evening and a pretty good night's sleep although I feel guilty that it may have been thanks to the glass of wine I had with our anniversary dinner or because I didn't take a nap yesterday and stayed up late in hopes that I would be so tired I would sleep better. I was still up five times but when I went back to bed I was able to go back to sleep which is rare these days.

Hi Laura (Hopin') - How are you doing? I think about you everyday and hope that each day gets a little easier for you.

I too have insomnia, however, it's not from babies it's because of the Olympics. I can't help myself from staying up late watching! So I go to bed late and DD has me up early. Well, they are only on for 2 weeks, right?

Actually I'm surprised I am sleeping. With DD, I couldn't sleep at all for the last few weeks and I am already way bigger with these two than I was with her. Maybe it was the anxiety of it being the first time....Can you believe how close we are?

Shelie - how was Pineapple Express? It looks hilarious!

Amazingly, I was able to get about 6 hours of sleep last night. Woo hoo! I definitely feel better today.

We have our "Newborn Care" class tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing my DH learn how to change a diaper.

Laura, I am sure there are lots of reasons you are having sleepless nights: Hormones, grief, etc. We are all here thinking about you still.

So little Natasha has been very quiet the last few days. She is definitely making her quota of movement, but less forcefull, less frequent kicks and more rolling movements. Isn't it early for them to start running out of room? She probably just changed positions. I see the midwife tomorrow. I will ask her about it. I just hate when she switches it up on me. I get worried.

Celeste - I'm there with you regarding the Olympics. I am getting to bed so late because I get so hyped watching that it's been hard to get to bed before midnight.

My regular insomnia comes in stages. The past week or so I've slept ok. I do get up to pee 4 times a night but am able to get back to sleep after a few minutes. But I know that the nights of being up for 3 or 4 hours will be coming back soon.

Laura (hopin) - glad to hear from you. As the other girls have said we are thinking of you.

Claudia - Amara is moving but I do feel more rolling movements. I know what you mean about worrying when they don't stay in a regular routine.
