Hi ladies - good to here from you Netty. I haven't had the itching that bad, but I do get the leg cramps. I was just telling DH last night that at least I have trained myself to stretch out my leg with my foot flexed instead of pointed while I'm half asleep. After a MAJOR charlie horse, I learned my lesson.

I had heard the same thing about using fabric softener but then you get all the static electricity

Good morning ladies. Have any of you had any sciatic nerve pain? Mine started Tuesday, very mild and occasional. Yesterday, it hit full force and even sleeping last night was impossible. I plan on calling my chiropractor today to see if she can help. I have tried everything, heating pad, warm bath, lying on my side, trying to reposition Bailee. Nothing has worked and it is excruciating! My bf's mother died so the funeral is today, then I am to go into work. I hope I can make it without looking too stupid. I literally can't put pressure on my right foot without the pain shooting up into my butt cheek.

Netty- Love the painting!! Your fur babies are too cute!!

I have washed most of the clothes we have and the blankets in Dreft. I also just bought some baby ALL, which like Melissa said, it is a little cheaper than Dreft.

Also, noone else is swelling around here? My feet and calves are terrible, but my bp is good so the Dr said as long as that stays good, I will just have to deal with it. I think I need to make a decision on leaving work before the baby is born, and not wait until she makes an appearance. My poor DH doesn't know what to do, I am just plain miserable!!

Christie- I am swelling BIG TIME!!! My ankles are horribly huge. It feels like my toes are going to pop off. My hands have started to really hurt, too. They feel like ballpark franks!! My blood pressure has been 95/60 so he said not to worry but it is driving me crazy!

Holly & Claudia - Stay cool & hydrated today! I work in Livermore and it's supposed to be 106 there today. Yikes!! I have a luncheon to attend & I think it is going to be outside. No fun!

Christie - I have been having sciatic nerve pain for months now. Mine gets really bad when I've been on my feet or walking too much. I notice it gets better once I lie on my right side (pain is on my left). I hope yours goes away & that you are able to get through today without pain. I'm so sorry to hear about your BF's mom.

I went to BRU yesterday & they sell Bounce Free dryer sheets that contain no perfumes or dyes. I bought a box & I think I'll give them a shot. I'm just worried that his clothes will be super static-y without somemthing.

When I was having hip pain that I associated with sciatic nerve pain, I took two tylenol and used a heating pad. I don't know if it truly was sciatic nerve pain, but that did help alleviate the pain.

I am also washing all of the baby's clothes in Dreft, including sheets, blankets, etc. I will have to look for Bounce Free sheets, we will need them in the winter.

Netty - your avatar is too cute!

Shellie & Holly - you both look great!!

Baby George and I are doing well, he is up to 5 lbs., 4.6 oz. We are working on feeding now, and he is getting two bottles per day, plus what he still gets in the feeding tube, and we are trying to nurse once per day. The goal is to get up to 8 feedings per day before the tube can come out.

Hi All

Netty - With DD, I washed everything in Dreft religiously. This time around, the slacker that I am, I don't plan on washing anything other than the sheets. ALthough all the girl clothes are from DD so it's just my poor boy, who hopefully won't have sensitive skin.

I hope that everyone's aches and pains are reasonably tolerable. I think the extreme summer heat and humidity doesn't help much either - ti just makes me so tired. But alas, if you can believe it, summer is about to end (unofficially) and we are all that much closer....

I have a little swelling too... a bit in my feet, but more in my hands. I just try and stay out of the heat and humidity, and watch my salt intake..... which is hard because I LOVE salty food!

SO - I had an appt this morning and all looks good.... I even got a very quick sneak peek at Annabelle, because they did a super fast sonogram to check her position (she is indeed head down) And...... she is indeed a girl... I asked them to double check since I've been so paranoid recently... so I guess it's ok that I've washed all the clothes etc!!

Tabitha - happy to hear George continues to do well!

Christie - Sorry you're having such a hard time! Hope you get some relief soon. For some reason my right calf, angle and foot seem to swell much worse than my left.

Laura - Ugg! How'd you survive today? My car said 105 when I left work today.

Ok, since we banned TMI on here a while ago, here I go.......I think I have a hemorid Guess I'll look up some treatments online

Hey Holly-my right was swelling up more than my left, too and the doc said that your body doesn't drain as well on that side. But now its swelling equally on both sides at 35 weeks.

Tabitha-Baby George looks so handsome! He's growing like a weed now!!

Tabitha - George keeps getting cuter & cuter! He looks so healthy, strong & happy! I'm happy to hear that he continues to do so well & is getting that much closer to going home with you & DH.

Holly - Yuck - yesterday was miserable! And I'm very sorry to hear you might have a hemroid. I had one very early on in this pregnancy, and it went away within a week.

Does anyone have fun plans for this 3-day weekend? I have a super long "to-do" list for me & DH. My goal is to get the nursery all done, wash baby clothes and do a bunch of other things around the house. DH is going to the Cal football game on Saturday. So that means quiet, nesting time for me!! :-)

I've had swelling for a while but it has gotten a lot better since I am working from home and put my feet up most of the day. The thing that seems to help me is drinking A LOT of water - I didn't yesterday and in fact went to watch the Vanderbilt game (Go 'Dores) and was so swollen after drinking too much sweet tea - definitely need that hourly bottle of water! My doctor did say that it seems odd but not to cut out sodium because it helps in some way - just drink a lot more fluids and raise your feet.

No plans for the weekend here - I am getting really, really uncomfortable so not much going on - will probably go to the pool and some friends are cooking dinner for us Saturday night and that is about it!

Well, it definitely wasn't 105 degrees in the city yesterday but I did ahve to sleep with the fan on last night - rare in SF that that has to happen...

My swelling isn't too bad. I get swollen for sure, both hands and feet, but the dreaded cankles are not haunting me yet!

Tabitha - baby George looks like he is doing great. I just want to kiss those cute cheeks of his.

Caroline - glad to hear all is going well with Annabelle.

Holly - sorry to hear about the hemoroid. Don't have any suggestions.

Well my baby shower is tomorrow and DH and I are excited. My mother came in on Wednesday and I have family coming from the east coast (Ft. Lauderdale area). It's going to be a co-ed shower with about 45 people. I will post pics this weekend. After that we just plan to finish setting up Amara's room which is done except for a few little things.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Gotta get back to work end of the month and it's really busy.

Hemhorroids: ugh. I have had them before and thank god do not have them now, but i am fully expecting another visit from them after delivery - all that pushing....

Tucks pads (I think they are jsut witch hazel)
Sitz baths
stool softeners

When I had them really bad I used the suppositories which helped a lot. I am not sure they are ok for pregnancy though. Holly I am sorry, hemhorroids are really awful.

sorry i haven't been around. you'll never guess what i have been up to. i've been at the hospital w/ kidney stones...AGAIN. it was way worse this time, a day that i will have to block out of my memory. lets just say i moaned, whaled, sobbed, screamed my voice completely away. dh had nightmares about it and could hear my cries in his sleep. poor thing, he felt so helpless. i am better now, just got home. just very sore and super tired. i'll be back later for personals.
