Brandy,

Your induction date is almost around the corner I hope baby Zane is patient enought to wait till then.

Ladies, here are some overdue pictures from my baby shower (08.16.08), a little late but I had to wait for my brother to email them to me.

The first one is a whole watermelon that the restaurant carved it in a baby carriage, very cute. The luncheon shower took place at a log restaurant with excellent food. The cake says "Diapers and Pins A New Life Begins" and it was a Tres Leches cake, my fave. . . yummy!. The diaper cake (thanks to Amy walking me through on how to make one) was a lot of fun and I made it myself (total 80 diapers) and we had our guests enter their names with their guess on how many diapers were in the cake and the closest to the number took home a humongous pink mum with a nice pot. Gosh, the range of numbers my guests guessed spread from 45 to 160
The picture of my mother and MIL came out so tiny, I may have to repost with other pics in a few minutes.

okay, here are more pics. . .
A better sized picture of my mom and MIL. The second one is before guests arrived.
The third photo is a table where guests were placing their framed pictures of their kids and/or grandkids. My mom asked in the invitations to please bring a framed photo of their little ones for display. I hinted that idea to her since for our wedding, DH and I asked our guests to bring a framed photo of their wedding for display and that was such a hit.
The last photo is my brother's wife, who is also expecting and her little boy is due November 11th. That is her first child too

Netty - the pics are so cute! Thanks for sharing. That sucks about the mouse. We've lived by a field for a number of years and will get one every once in a while and I turn into such a girly girl!

Brandy - Wow! What an appt. I bet you won't make it until Sept 25th. I don't have the hard bump that you described yet. Just every time I'm up on my feet, my whole belly gets hard for a min and then comes and goes until I sit back down. I ruled out constipation and dehydration today, so I think it's just my body (and Jaden) telling me to slow down a bit.

Luckily I get to work from home Friday and Monday!

Brandy - I think I may understand the pelvic pain you described now. Even with working from home today, my hips are hurting more and the area between my pelvic bone and underwear line is a lot harder today.

Netty - what a nice shower! and you look so cute!

Baby George is still in the hospital and probably will be for about two more weeks. He is still having the occasional dip in heartrate, and the docs are still saying he just has to grow out of it. Otherwise he is doing well, no more feeding tube, all bottles and gaining weight. I am anxious to have him home, I just have to remind myself that he is still one month premature.

You can see how much he enjoys his bottle.

Netty - what a beautiful shower! I love all the special touches you incorporated. And you look lovely!

Brandy - Wow...you are almost at the finish line!! I am so happy for you. Baby Zane is almost here!

Tabitha - pictures of Baby George always make my day! He is just precious and I am so excited for you to take him home in a few short weeks.

Shellie - I hope you are doing well and that your little ones are healthy & happy. Can't wait to see pictures!

I had my work baby shower today. About 45 people attended and it was wonderful. Everyone was so generous...we even got our bassinet, which I have been anxious to receive. I'll post pics this weekend. I have another shower Sunday afternoon. What a fun weekend!

So...I wonder which one of us will deliver next?!?!

Laura, thanks! You are one party girl I can't wait to see pics.

I am also wondering who will the next one to deliver or already scheduled to do so?

Tomorrow is my SIL's (the one from the picture with me) baby shower and I am making her a diaper cake. Making that cake has been so much fun. When she saw mine at my shower, she fell in love with it. I told her that I would make her one as well and she said that she would love that so she can have it as a keepsake. That was nice to hear!

Yesterday, DH took me to Cheesecake Factory restaurant to have lunch, being our last day of vacation, he wanted to just have time for the two of us. Food was great and we ordered two slices of their most decadent chocolate cheesecake to take home.

Hannah is on her way to New England, it is scheduled to hit us this afternoon/evening, so we are expecting lots of rain and wind.

Ladies, what are your plans for this weekend? I would love to just stay home, catch up with my reading, BTW, I just bought the book "Do they hear you when you cry?" by Fauziya Kassindja. From its reviews, a very inspirational book.

Thanks all - I think I am being discharged today and when I get home will get pictures onto the computer and can then post some. The babies still have a while in the nicu just to learn to eat, regulate their body temperatures, and in Tyler's case breathe on his own, but they are doing wonderful and they start billibrubin lights for jaundice today and we'll go from there.

Tabitha, George is looking great and glad to hear he is doing so well! There have already been so many ups and down I can't imagine how taxing and rewarding it is been for you in this past month. We are a bit overwhelmed but still running on an adrenaline high I think - will probably crash when we get home!
