I was just getting to post the same thing Laura. Geez! I can't believe that's what it is again. I feel so bad for you Amy, this has been such a process for you. No more complaining from me today!

Claudia - my NP told me basically the same exact thing you did about the baths. She said that if I get out and notice that I keep having water run down my leg, then my water probably broke and come in.

Oh no Amy..I can't believe that you have kidney stones again. I hope you feel better soon. You and baby Lily are in my thoughts.

Laura - I have so many baby blankets I don't think I have any more room. I actually had to return a few that I got at the baby shower. But it's so hard to pass them up.

Gosh, I don't know what happened to my post a while back and I have no clue what I said but I did answer Netty's questions:
1. How are your furbabies adjusting to their littlest siblings' arrival? (Caroline, Shellie, Celeste. . . perhaps you can chime in please!) My oldest dog knows something is about to pop, he refuses to leave my side and he is the one I am most concerned of some jealousy and rivalry.
My Marley girl is doing wonderful - she tries to "help" sometimes when the babies are crying which is a bit worrisome but she just tries to lick their faces or tell us that they are crying (as if there is any confusion about that one!), and she had the run of the house and could get on the bed, couch, etc. and she still does but surprisingly she is careful not to jump on them - she goes around and seems to know that they are fragile. This is gross but she does love formula and will lick it off their hands or if they spit up so we have to watch that!!! We are still extremely cautious with her in the room if we step out and they are doing tummy time or in the bouncers but she hasn't been bad at all.

2.Are you renting the breast pump from the hospital or are you trying one that you purchased? If you are trying one you purchased, which one are you using?
I am renting a Medela Symphony that they say you have to have if you are trying to pump for two, hospital grade, and if this is suppsed to be better I would hate to see how little I would get with a purchased one. I am planning to only pump until about 4 months so renting came out a bit better financially and I got a better a pump than I would have been able to purchase.

Claudia - the sleep deprivation is indescribable - if I had one piece of advice for anyone it would be to take advantage of your time in the hospital especially if you are having a c-section and let the baby spend some time in the nursery and get some rest - not that you can store it up but I overdid it way too much while in the hospital and then was just completely rundown and overly emotional and so, so tired and it was all a bad combo. I definitely might have to try that wrap - I have a sling that scares me to death so I don't use it because it seems to put their heads at unnatural, ridiculous angles!

morning ladies -

Amy - glad to hear the worst of the kidney stones is over. Hang in there hun!

Well - we thought Jaden was coming....but no After I took a shower yesterday afternoon, I started having contractions every 4 - 6 mins but the pain wasn't too bad. Not wanting them to stop, I stayed on my feet and walked around the house while watching my football game. After 2 hours of constant contractions, we called the hospital and they said to wait until the pain got worse.

After another 2.5 hours, they were consistently 5 mins apart and getting hard to walk through. I had a feeling they still weren't "enough" and was pretty tired so I laid down and took a nap. Even during the nap, I could feel them coming and going which I took as a good sign.

I got back up and started walking around the house to see what would happen. Within a few mins they were back every 5 - 10 mins at the same strength so we thought we were heading in the right direction. By the end of an hour, the peak of the contractions were so bad I had to squat down instead of standing or leaning over so we decided we'd go in and get checked and see if I was making any progress.

After a "lovely" exam - good lord those things hurt! - they said his head is still right there on my cervix but I haven't dilated any further and am still at 1cm. We weren't surprised that they didn't keep me, but I was disappointed that I hadn't dilated any further.

So, I'm back home. I'm super sore from the exam which is usual for me. They said to just keep doing what we have been doing - walk, walk, walk and see if gravity can help put pressure on the cervix to open up. My next Dr appt isn't until Friday so unless we make some major progress at home, we won't know how it's going until then.

Holly - I'm so surprised that you aren't more dilated! But all of those contractions are a great sign...you are getting very close! I definitely think you'll be the next one to welcome your little one & I'm so excited for you! Hang in there! I think in a few months you, me & Claudia should all meet up somewhere so that our "October" babies can meet one another.

Amy - you are a tough cookie! Take it easy & feel better soon!

We went for "pregnancy pizza" last night...but here I am, still pregnant. I have leftovers, so I'm going to eat some more today. The pizza was a super combination pizza but instead of red sauce it had a garlic-herb sauce. Not something I would ever order, but it tasted better than I thought it would. Our waitress said it's the garlic sauce that is supposed to do the trick. I'm hoping she's right!!

Amy I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. Kidney stones are horrible, and while you are feeling so big and pregnant I can only imagine what a difficult time you are having.

Yes, Holly and Laura, we should definitely meet up once we are all settled in with babies!

Holly it sounds like you are almost ready! Use your yoga ball. Sit on it often. I felt like that really helped get my labor going.

I found the hospital a very unrestful place to be. I recommend putting a sign on your door when you are resting. So many unecessary people came through my room. It kept us up when we could have been sleeping...

We go in for our first pediatrician appointment tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes...

thanks for the advice Claudia!

Yes - I agree with meeting up. We never got around to it this summer!

I hope everyone is doing well. I am sooooo close to wrapping up all my work tasks. I'm both relieved and curious what I will do all day until Jaden decides to come. At this point, if I had him there's nothing with work that couldn't wait. About 3 more tasks and everything on my "to do before maternity leave" will be done.

Guess she did want to make an early arrival instead of waiting for the c-section on Monday. Hope everything goes well and can't wait for an update.
