This is proably one of the hardest posts I will ever have to write. I know that some of you have been there, and I can now say I know exactly how you feel. I will do my best to fill you in on what has happened since last Wednesday.

On Thursday about 7 at night I started having some spotting. My RE had me be on bed rest for the rest of the weekend. They really didn't tell me too much about what could be causing it. The spotting lasted until Friday, but not heavy at all. The rest of the weekend went by without any issues.
Last night we were next door at our neighbors house having dinner. At about 7:30, I noticed I was bleeding again and this time it was major. I excused myself and went home. By the time I got there, I was covered. I made the decision that if I was going to misscarry this baby I was going to be in the tub. Something about knowing that my baby went into the toilet bothered me to no end. I sat there and cried. I called my RE again and was basically told nothing. BTW, this is not my actual RE calling me but his on-call nurse. I finally did pass something, and at first I was sure it was my baby. Scott looked online and found that it wasn't. I begged him to take me to the ER because I had to know what was going on. We arrived at the ER around 8:30. After an hour, they finally took me to the back. I was finally taken for my u/s around 10:00. The tech didn't say a word to me about what she saw. Scott couldn't really tell anything either. I was taken back to the room and a doctor came in and spoke to us. She didn't know anything yet, but did an exam and didn't find anything wrong on that end.

At 12:00 she finally came back and told us that our little baby's heart had stopped beating. According to their measurements, my baby had stopped growing either the day of or the day after my first u/s. We went to my RE this morning and he did an u/s to confirm. Unfortunately, God did decide that our baby would be better off in heaven with him. Scott and I are doing our best to make it through this extremely tough time in our life. We are looking to the future for what steps we can take next, and holding oun to our faith.

I go in tomorrow for a D&C. I was given the choice between this or natural. After what I went through last night, I knew I would not be able to handle going through that at home...never knowing when it would happen. They are also going to try and do some chromosome testing to see what might have caused this. Although it won't help for future pregnancies, it will give us some closure.

Thank you for all your support and prayers that you have given to us. We absolutely wouldn't have been able to make it this far without you. Scott and I are doing our best to remember the blessings we were given. We were able to get pregnant and see our baby's heart beat. We will always remember this time in our life.

Rebecca, while I've not been a part of your due dates group I have been lurking on occasion and cheering on Pokey at each milestone, so I'm so so sorry hun you are going through this.

If you ever feel like talking to a bunch of girls who have sadly experienced similar things...please come on over to the pregnancy loss thread, even if you just feel like lurking. We would love to have you.

Update and a couple web sites

My bloodwork came back and it did double but the nurse said it still wasn't as high as she wanted it to be. I have an ultra sound scheduled for tomorrow to see how things are going. I am worried, but there isn't much else I can do no matter what happens tomorrow. I did find a couple of really good web sites today and thought I would share.

Healthy Pregnancy: HCG Levels and Ultrasounds in Early Pregnancy

A Beautiful Day: When IVF Works: Things the RE Doesn't Tell You

My ultra sound isn't until 1:30 tomorrow. I will give you an update when I get back.

Chie, kids are always telling it like it is aren't they! The problem for me is that I have to eat every 2 to 3 hrs or I feel nauseated and anxious (low blood sugar?). I think I am mostly eating pretty balnaced, though I am sure I am eating way more carbs than I used to. I spoke to my friend who just had a baby and she said not to worry about it. They told her to gain 35 pounds but it is always better to to gain too much than too little. (like I could ever be accused of gaining too little weight in my life. ugh!) She gained 40.

Ok here is the updated list. Come on girls tell us how your Ultrasounds went!!!!

Rebecca .. I'm so sorry.

I am doing better today. We had the surgery yesterday and it has just started to rupture my tube ... which could have been life threatening .. so, I'm glad to be healthy and at home.

We are also thinking to the future. We are moving (movers coming today) and I have already found a new clinic in my new area. I am going to make an appt. with them soon. We also ordered a package on adoption as a backup.

I plan on having my DH take me to a nice dinner tonight, I'm going to have a glass of wine, and celebrate all we have.

I'll tune in to see how you guys are doing. Best of Luck and God Bless.

Tara.

to you tara and rebecca.
tara--i'm glad to hear that you are doing better. and congratulations on the move. new city, new RE, new hope!
please girls check in once in a while if you can and let us know how you are doing.

liv--welcome!

i have my first OB appt thursday. of course i am starting to get nervous again, just like i did before my other u/s. i don't want to call this a roller coaster b/c i love roller coasters, so i'm calling this experience like being on a yo-yo. one day you are up, then next, you're down.

one thing though, last night i went to a maternity store and bought their version of the bella band. can i say LOVING IT! i highly recommend getting something like this! i went to mimi maternity, in case anyone is interested. but when i was checking out, she was asking me all these questions, like my due date, if this was my first, if i will breastfeed, and i swear i started to swoon, b/c it was almost like it was becoming real. my sister is being great. she's been preggo before, so it helps that's she's been there.

congrats to all who have had their u/s!!!!
tina--let us know how yours goes today! i'm sure all is well!
