Well, just to keep everyone posted. Just got back from my first ob appt. and things went well. We were able to hear one heartbeat on the doppler and they said we might have heard both but that at this stage it is really hard to differientiate between the two. It was really difficult for the dr. to find it at first but when he did we were elated. They are still so small and hidden that you really have to look around for them! They referred me to a high-risk specialist because of twins and I have a consult and ultrasound with them tomorrow - so we still have our fingers crossed and can't wait to see them again - it seems like it has been forever!

Oh my goodness - I am so sorry Jess, Shelley and Stefanie - it is so unfair. I know how you feel and it is such an awful feeling. I had the same thing happen to me with my first pregnancy - the numbers never rose qutie right but we saw the HB a few times, but when I went in at 10 weeks, it was gone and I had a d&c that day which revealed a chromosomal problem. It is so devastating, even though I had a bad feeling the whole time.
Take some time for yourselves and if you feel it helpful, do something special in memory of your babies. We planted a rose bush and I made a "baby book" for him with his US pics, poems, prayers and emails of support from friends. I still look at it.
SHelley - they probably won't be able to test for chromosomes if the baby passed a whicle ago. Usually it wil only work if the baby has died in the past few days which is probably why your RE didn't mention it.
I am praying for you all and I am so sorry that I can not put it into words....

thanks everyone for your condolences. i'm hanging in there.
my d&c is scheduled for tomorrow morning. my doc mentioned that b/c the embryo passed a while ago, there won't be enough tissue to test for chromosomal (sp?) problems.

shellie--congrats on the u/s today! it's a big relief i'm sure!

take care everyone!

Good morning ladies. Today I go for my NT scan, and I am a little scared. With all the sad news on here lately, I am so terrified that something will be wrong. I just have to keep praying that all is well. I am still fighting this cold, I feel better but my sinuses are giving me fits!!! Maybe today they can give me so ideas on what to do to make it better.

I hope you all have a good day and I will post as soon as I can after my appt!!

I'm going in for an u/s today as well and I'm super nervous, as always! U/S days are always the most exciting & most nervewracking days. We lost our first at 9w 6d, so if all is well today, we will have made it almost 1 week longer than last time.

Christie - I pray all is well with your little one. I'm sure it will be a great experience! Everyone says NT are very cool!

Sorry for the late post, I was away for a few days to LV and I am shocked with the news.

Jess, Shelley and Stefanie: I am so sorry for your losses. Life sometimes take some tortuous roads that is really hard to understand. I agree with Celeste to try to do something to say goodbuy. When I had the ectopic, going to my DH's dad's cemetery and asking him to take care of my baby gave me lots of peace in my heart.

Christie and Laura: Good luck, remember positive thinking and keep us updated.

A big for all of us.

Well, I had a WONDERFUL u/s experience today. Our little bundle of joy was bouncing and turning and waving his/her hands. The u/s tech kept bumping my tummy to get him to turn over and he would flip over then turn right back upside down. My DH accused me of having caffiene and making our baby act like a crackhead and I really had no caffiene this morning, the baby is just acting like it's daddy!!!

I got a video of the u/s so I can send my mom a copy. She is going to love it. The Dr. said I am carrying him high, and that that shouldn't change. Oops gotta go, my boss is calling. I will post pics when I get home.
