Ok, I hust posted on the "we're pregnant" thread and I noticed y ticker bumped me ahead one day! I usually turn weeks on saturday but today it is saying 15 weeks, when I am 14 and 6/7. Hmmm has anyone had trouble with their ticker's accuracy?

Hmmm Fossie, I just looked at your ticker which is a lilypie ticker too. Youa re usually one day ahead of me I think, and you are still one day ahead!!! I think Lilypie is moving too fast, what do you think...Are they gaslighting me or am I really wrong?

Hmm - I think yours is acting funny because yesterday I changed mine by one day to match the one on my myspace and to match what the docs say. I am 15.1 with one baby and 15.2 with the other so I went with the smallest one - odd!

OK - I've got an odd question just because I really have no clue how these things work. I was thinking about what the babies will need when they are born and clothing is an obvious one. We will all be having showers and purchasing stuff to get ready this summer but our babies will be born in the fall/winter - do stores have stuff that far in advance for babies so you are buying the right season stuff, do you need to buy now for the season that they will be from 0-6 months, do you not really worry about anything other than onesies and sleep sacks and then buy "cute" going out clothes when you are actually in the season? Just one more thing I was worrying about - I don't want to have summer dresses, or shorts in October!

Shellie, I hadn't even thought of that. I live in San Francisco and the weather is not that different here between seasons. In SF we dress in layers because you never know if the weather will change or even be different in a different part of the city. I just figured I would dress my baby the same way!!!!

Of course if it snows where you live you probably want to employ a different method...

Hi all -

My u/s today went great! I think our little bean was sucking his/her thumb...so amazing!

I also did my sugar resistance test today. The sugar drink wasn't bad at all...it was just like a sugary orange soda. Now I'm just hoping I pass! :-)

Fossie - I was just in Babies R Us last week buying gifts for a friend, and it seemed like they had clothes for all seasons in there. Obviously they had more for the current season, but I saw jackets, sweatshirts, all kinds of winter stuff. I figure if I receive baby clothes at showers, etc that are for the wrong season I will just return them and get gift cards. That way I can go shopping when the baby is here! :-) How fun!

Oh, and my ticker jumped a day a few months ago. And then this week it went back to the original timeline. I'm so confused!

Ok well, I sent an email to the help desk at Lilypie. A day doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things - I mean who really gives birth on their due dates anyway!

hello! Well, we had quite the adventure last night.... after dinner I began having these extreme sharp pains in my left side, hear my hip. I didn't really think it was problems with the baby as it was the wrong type of pain in the wrong place (too sharp and consistent and way too far left). Anyway, they got really bad by about 10pm so we decided to go the ER.... I figured any bad abdominal pain when your pregnant needs looking at. Anyway, to cut a long story short, we were in the ER for 6 hours and they did basic blood/urine tests, poked and prodded me, ruled out kidney/appendix/pancreas problems and deduced it was probably gastro-intestinal issues. The weird thing is I've not even been constipated recently...in fact vey regular so I was surprised that I was in so much pain. had it been 6 weeks ago when I hadn't gone for 4 days it would have made much more sense! Anyway, they then sent a gyno down to double check on the baby and it was fine, wiggling around in there, so of course at least my mind was at ease knowing that the bean was ok. So I guess it was something not sitting right in my intestine/really bad trapped gas. I'm still very uncomfortable this morning, very tender in the side and still having some sharp pains. They told me to give it a day or two and if it's not better to come back. I suppose if it turns out to be trapped gas it'll be a funny story to tell.... that i went to the ER for gas problems!!!

Well, I hope you are all doing better than I. It is beautiful here today and we were planning on a hike but I doubt that will be happening now!

Caroline- What a scary moment but I am so glad that it is trapped gas only and nothing more serious! You must be very uncomfortable, please try to relax and hang in there. Soon, you will feel better. Please keep us posted on how you are doing tomorrow.

Caroline - that happened to me not too long ago and after spending the whole weekend on the couch in horrible pain on the left side and a lot of tenderness I went to my OB for an emergency appt. He said left side was good because right side is what is usually troubling for appendicitis, right and back for kidney stones, etc. Anyway he ended up deducing that it was a combination of pain from fibroids and constipation. Since then I have had a few episodes of really sharp, uncomfortable pain that just doesn't seem like it can be explained by constipation, especially since when you post people say things like Oh yes, I have that but when I do X, Y or Z it goes away and when I have those episodes there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when/why they go away. Sorry to hear you are in pain but great to hear you got it checked out and there is no cause for concern. FYI when I was in the most pain the dr. asked where it hurt and I was pressing on my left side right above my hip bone - sounds like the same area!

fossie, yes- exactly that area, right above my hip bone. That's where the pain is, especially when I press, and then it sometimes radiates out from there a little. Ugh, it's SOOOOO painful as I'm sure you know! I thought it was passing, I felt a bit better this morning but it's come back this evening. And, it's not constipation.....TMI but I go every morning like clockwork plus the occasional evening!
I'm so tired too....we got home from the ER at 4.30 this morning then dd had us up at 7.30! And I don't nap well even when I'm tired. An early night for me if I'm not in too much pain. It's frustrating not knowing what is causing it, and not being able to take anything for it.
My appetite is funny too, like nothing sits right in my tummy. Poor me, I hope it passes soon! Sorry to complain At least the bean is ok - I've felt them bumping around quite a bit the last few days!

Fossie,

I think about clothes way too much and here is my advice to you. I buy lots on eBay for my son a season ahead. So I bought his spring/summer clothes in the winter, etc. You could buy fall/winter clothes now and into the summer. I find I can get really good deals on really good clothes when I buy off season. Plus it's fun! I bought more used when he was younger since children grow out of their clothes more quickly when they are younger (hence, hardly any wear if any). Now I mostly look for new clothing lots. Again, I get them cheaper when I buy off season!

My ticker is also registering ahead of schedule by a day. I didn't realize it until you all pointed is out.

Caroline - Glad that everything checked out ok, it is so scary when you don't feel right during pregnancy - especially a treasured pregnancy.

Shellie - Don't worry too much about the clothes thing. Stored usually get the next season out pretty quickly, like now they have summer stuff out and generally have fall stuff out by July. I found that with my DD, people were good about buying appropriate season things. You'll defintiely need more than onesies, espeically with twins, you will likely have a lot of doctor appointments in those early days - my DD was getting blood tests 2x a day for jaundice for almost a week so we were out and about a lot and it's not like it was July where they don't need anything warmer.
Don't buy too many "newborn" size things, but have a couple, even my DD who was 7'13'' (who dehydrated to 6'7") was swimming in 0-3 months for the first 2 weeks - but was way out of nb sized stuff by the 3rd week so don't waste your money, just start with 0-3 mos (although with twins, they will likely be smaller) - but they grow pretty darn fast once on the outside. And frankly, people are going to buy you stuff you don't register for and you will get tons of clothes so don't worry too much even if you don't buy anything.
