Amy I am so sorry you had sucha scary experience but I am relieved everything is OK.

I also had a GD test in my first trimester and it was negative. I think they will be testing me each trimester. It is b/c I have PCOS.

My perinatologist said he would tell my doctor to so it early because of family history and PCOS but my regular ob didn't mention it at my last appt. and my next week will be at 18+ weeks and it is not scheduled for then and so it will probably be scheduled after that appt. which puts me right about the time it would be normally. I'm ok with it sorta, since it gives me more time to eat my delicious strawberry milkshake poptarts for breakfast every day!

Oh my gosh, Amy, how scary! I'm so glad you & your baby are OK!

Whatever the results of my glucose test are tomorrow, I'm ready for it. I'll be disappointed if I do have GD, but I know it isn't the end of the world and it will be one more motivating factor to continue a healthy pregnancy. I'll post my results once I know something. I hope everyone else breezes through your glucose tests!!!

It is confusing to tell people how far along we are. Heck, we were confused the first time we were pregnant! I usually just say it in the nearest months....so right now I say I'm almost 4 months since most people would assume 16 weeks = 4 months.

Amy - I'm so sorry that you had to go through such a scary evening. Good to hear that everything is okay.

This week has been so hectic at work. I am leaving tomorrow to visit my family for a week, and the week before vacation is always crazy. I was on my feet a lot this week, and my ankles have been very swollen. Has anyone else had a problem with this yet?

Amy - What an ordeal! I can't believe they made you wait that long.

Tabitha - you're a week ahead of me, but no I haven't had any swelling yet.

I think the baby went through a growth spurt this week though. I swear my BB and stomach are bigger after the last couple days.

I have been lurking for a while. . . things have been busy and this upcoming week will be even busier since DH and I are going on vacation for one week.

Amy-First of all, you must have been scared when that happened, and I am so glad that everything is well with you and the baby. BTW, your baby bump is tiny and quite and the picture from the ultrasound is just priceless!

Tabitha-You are two weeks ahead of me and I haven't had any swelling, other than my breasts have gotten a little bigger, although I love the idea of having them big, I know, I am a naughty girl, LOL

To all my October preggo ladies, have a wonderful weekend

Amy - great pic, I think it is so awesome that they are really starting to look like babies now, with spines and profiles, and just cute as can be!

Tabitha - I don't think I have had any ankle swelling but my hands have swollen - I can't get my rings off!!! It could be because I had chinese food but it's also about that time :-(.

Any flutters or kicks for you guys? I am anxiously awaiting that wonderful reassurance!

Amy, I am so glad you and the baby are doing great!! That was awesome of your RE to let you come in for an u/s.

No flutters for me yet, anytime though I hope. Tabitha, my feet have been really hurting by the end of the day. I haven't noticed swelling, but they hurt and feel swollen, if that makes any sense.

Today, my bf came over and we proceeded to clean out the junk/laundry room to get ready for remodeling it. Man, we have soooo much stuff. I threw away about 12 large garbage bags of stuff that me and DH have no need for anymore. I think I now feel it is possible to remodel it and have my nursery!!!

I go to the OB on Monday, nothing special just b/w and heartbeat. They should tell me when my gender scan will be, hopefully soon. I am now geared up and ready to start getting things ready. It takes alot when you have an old home that you are renovating, it isn't so easy just to make a nursery

Hope you all have a good day!!

Hey ladies, I am glad all is well. No swelling of the ankes yet but I have been having a lot of cramps and twinges in my abdomen here and there - I don't think anything alarming just growing pains. my hips are starting to hurt at times as well. Anyone else? I am starting to research things like car seats and breast bumps and other things we will need to purchase and register for. I am trying to do one thing per week it is so overwhelming!!!

I will post an update to the ultrasound list this w/e but not now b/c the weather is gorgeous today and I have to get outside!

Amy - I am embarrassed to admit that I bought a prenatal listening device because this four weeks already seems soooo long but alas it didn't work. It says inside the box third trimester, wish that had been written on the outside somewhere! I sure hope for flutters soon!

Christie - my dad is coming up next week and we are going to consolidate the office/guest room to make room for a nursery - still seems too early to me but my dad probably won't be back in town to help until the babies are born :-(.

Claudia - I have been doing a bit of research too (because that is the nerd that I am) and now I am worried that carseats won't even fit in my car!!! I am really trying to find information on car seats that fit into an affordable double stroller - not an easy task. I am definitely planning to run by the police station once they are installed to have them take a look. My friend who is due anyday now did that and said it provided instant peace of mind. We plan to register for FOUR carseats - two in each car - knowing that we'll be lucky if we get one and will just purchase the others. I think I am going to rent a breast pump but haven't decided. We are planning to register shortly after the gender scan - about 20 weeks and my friend is planning a shower for June/July - crazy early but it is just in cast the babies are anxious to get here or I am put on bedrest!

Hey Ladies -

I hope you are all having a great weekend! :-)

I did my 3-hour glucose test today. All I can say is YUCK! The drink was so sugary and sitting in the Kaiser Lab for 4 hours was a bit of a drag. But hopefully I passed & hopefully I won't have to do that again!

No swollen ankles yet, but I definitely feel my wedding rings beginning to tighten. I have also had really bad congestion (I think this is being made worse by allergies). My doctor recommended a humidifier at night and also a Sinus Wash that is safe to use while pregnant. I bought the sinus wash at WalMart tonight & just used it... it really helped! I would definitely recommend it if you are battling congestion or allergies.

All the N. CA ladies - isn't this weather amazing? I think spring is finally here!
