Holly - My appetite has been really odd recently, too. I will feel really hungry - but when I go to eat nothing will sound or taste good and then I'm just not hungry any more. Fiber 1 bars have been my best friend to keep my blood sugar stable while not really eating meals.

My DH & I both felt so strongly that we were having a boy with all of our pregnancies, too. But the past few weeks I've been thinking girl. I keep having boy dreams, though, so my money would be on a boy. Either will be fabulous!

I have been doing the same thing with eating - I seem to be more hungry lately but nothing sounds good and when I finally settle on something I just can't get a lot of it down. I have finally started to put on weight though so that is a good thing :-).

Well ladies I wish I had an appetite problem but alas, no, I am eating like a horse and have gained 15 pounds already. But I am finally at peace with it. I firmly believe you will gain what you gain when you are pregnant and if I gain 40 pounds, which I am en route to doing, so be it.

On another note. I am pretty sure I had a braxton hicks contraction last night. I thought it was early but I did some research online and it seems that many women are able to feel them even at 14 weeks or so. I was really freaked out at first, but after researching and calling my good friend (who had a baby in november) I was reassured. It happened only once. It was painless. I felt this trenemdous pressure in my lower abdomen and when I felt my uterus It was hard as a rock. It lasted 10 seconds or so and then relaxed and has not happened again. I was having acupuncture at the time. I was so freaked about it I didn't tell her, but next time I will to make sure any of the places she was needling didn't cause that type of reaction.

Wow, Claudia - that sounds unnerving! I don't even know how to feel my uterus and would have definitely jumped to worst case scenario and been in the ER, although I have definitely heard you can have BH this early and have contractions throughout! I have been quizzing my recently pregnant friends about contractions (just want to be aware in case of pre-term labor) and most of them say they can't tell because they have so many Braxton Hicks and they are used to that pressure feeling.

May 1st - now the countdown can really begin until our Anatomy Scans!!! I forget - is anybody keeping it a surprise?

Claudia - I wonder if those were the pressure feeling I had way down low last week? Ummm... It is fun to start feeling the baby move which is a totally different feeling. I still catch myself saying "what's that feeling? Oh yeah, it's the baby!"

You ladies described my appetite to a T. That's why I love this board and having you to bounce things off of. I was really surprized at the appt on Tuesday to find our I hadn't gained any weight since I differently have been getting bigger in the stomach and BB.

Counting, who's counting Only 13 more days until we find out if we are having a Jaden or Sierra

Claudia - glad everything is ok again. I've been getting twinges and pains but I think it's the ligaments stretching. All these things are right on track for what stage we are all at now!

And I'm with you on the eating Claudia.... not a problem for me! As of Monday I have officially gained 8 pounds! Which is right on track so I'm happy with that. It's strange getting used to having curves again (as with last pg) You're right, it's just something you have to go with and accept, though for me it's takes some getting used to. I'm a competitive runner (when I'm not pg!) so I'm used to being pretty wiry! I like the curves, just a little strange, DH is very happy with them though!

Cannot wait to hear what everyone is having!! It's so nice to be able to refer to our baby as she, not it, them or bean! Now just the name game fun!! DH and I can't seem to agree!

Well, I did call the advice nurse this morning and she said nothing to worry about. I probably would have been in the ER except that I first googled "contractions in the 2nd trimester" and a million hits came up for Braxton-Hicks contraction and they described exactly what I felt, painless contractions that are irregular and infrequent. I am stopping acupuncture for now though, since I feel really good. I will restart later on if I have symptoms that are bothersome.

But, now I have a new symptom, which is urinary hestitancy. I have a hard time starting my stream and then sometimes I think I am done and washing my hands and there is more. I am sending myself to the lab this afternoon for a urinalysis to see if I have an infection. The nurse said it could also be from the uterus pressing on my bladder as well. We'll see later on!

Keep us posted - sounds very familiar! I have not really had to urinate frequently at all during this pregnancy and suddenly in the last two weeks it has really picked up, but I unfortunately often feel like I really have to go and then it takes a while or is a miniscule amount!

Hi Ladies - I had an appetite problem and didn't gain any weight through 16 weeks and for the last week and a half, I can't stop eating. I am afraid to get on the scale!

I have contractions all the time. WIth DD, they started at 20 weeks but this time around they started at 14 weeks - very irregular sometimes none sometimes multiple per day, painless uterine tightening and some GI discomfort kinda feeling that are very brief. SUpposed to be very common. Everyone I work with who had babies had them from like 15 weeks on.

No UTI, so I guess it is just the position of my uterus up against my bladder. I also have so much pelvic pressure lately. I have this irrational fear of cervical incompetence. I am sure everything is just fine.

I am glad others are having the same experience...Anyone else feel a lot of pelvic pressure?

Claudia -
I'm so glad it's not a UTI. I'm sure everything will be just fine and hopefully the pressure will go away as the baby grows & moves.

I had my doctors appt. today and everything is great. No u/s, just the doppler, and we heard a very strong heartbeat & lots of movement. So fun! Only 6 more days until our anatomy scan!!

Laura, that is so exciting! I can't wait to hear if you are having a boy or a girl!

The pressure is already a lot better today which makes me feel a lot more relaxed. Still some trouble peeing, but the prssure is less. No more BH contractions!

Hi ladies, I am back from my vacation visiting my family. I hope everyone had a nice week.

Everyone keeps asking me if I feel the baby moving yet, and I haven't felt anything yet except what feels like my uterus stretching. How many of you have felt movements, and when did they start?

Tabitha, I haven't felt anything yet either.. One time the other day, I thought maybe I felt something, it kinda felt like something on the inside crawling (I know that sounds weird, but thats how it felt) but I am not sure if that was the baby or not. I know all is well, I hear the hb everynight but I am ready to feel the baby move and know that its the baby!!!!

I have to ask you ladies something. I keep having these feelings like I am so full I could just burst. Kinda like you drank alot of water and run then you feel sick sort of. I feel this way MOST of the time, and I am not sure if its just pressure on my stomach or what it is. All I know is that I felt this way when I overstimulated and had all of the fluid in my abdomen, but I know I am not overstiming. Does anyone else ever feel like this or is it just me?

Hey All

Tabitha - I didn't feel DD until like 17 weeks so you are probably close. With these two I started feeling them at 11 weeks, very rarely and kind of like that crawling feeling CHristie described - that is totally the baby and I felt it with DD too before 17 weeks. The first "kick" though wasn't until 17 weeks. You are all so close....With DD the first time I felt her, I went somewhere that had music playing really loud with a lot of base and she must have startled or something and I felt this huge kick. The movements were very infrequent after that until like 19 weeks.
