Great news all around - I totally had it backward, could have sworn it was pink for Amy and blue for Christie - shows how much intuition I have! Amy, you'll have to get your $ back on the intelligender test!!! So exciting and I too am pretty surprised at how even it is - probably because I joined these boards doing IVF and for some reason have it in my head that IVF produces more boys so I keep thinking everyone on here conceived that way and the boys are going to outnumber the girls - wrong again!

Holly, I really, really can't believe it is already the halfway point for many of us and I have shaved three weeks off of my due date according to doctor's predictions so I keep telling dh I am well over halfway there :-)!

Congratulations, Christie! What a fun day full of surprises!!

My birthday was on Monday & my DH suprised me by telling me he had decided to OFFICIALLY go with our boy name. So our little one is Lucas John, Luke for short. It's amazing to be able to call him by name. And my doppler came today, so I got to listen to his heartbeat on the comfort of my couch. I don't know why I waited so long to buy one...it's fabulous!

My Mom & MIL went shopping today and the two Grandma's went a little overboard on baby clothes. But it was so much fun! I think the whole shopping thing is going to be dangerous. :-)

How exciting to even see the names of some of your babies!
DH and I can't seem to agree on one that we both like. I have picked one for a baby girl many years ago and I still love that name. The only reservation I think DH seems to have to settle with that name is that one of his very few first cousins who lives in Boston, has a baby girl who is a year and a half. We rarely ever see the cousin and his family. So this past Christmas, my lovely MIL threw a huge Christmas party and the cousin, wife and baby were there. When DH and I arrived to the party, there were older kids sitting around the baby girl who was just learning how to walk. She is a beautiful girl. . . so I asked what the name is and her mother told me the first and middle name. The first name is the name I had in mind all along (granted! I was not pregnant in December but it was and it is still my name and nobody knows and knew about it), I didn't know how to hide how shocked I was when I learned the baby's name. . . sorry about the ranting!

Over the weekend, DH and I did our first shopping for our baby girl! We bought 2 CDS of baby lullabies so I could start playing them and have the baby listen to the tunes since she now is aware of the voices and everything going around me (so I am not allowed to swear ), and we bought paint and curtains for the nursery, yay, we know the colors of the theme. . . and we bought the first bedding set for the crib.
We also looked at crib sets and narrowed down our selection to two choices. I hope to have a final decision over this upcoming weekend. And I started my registry list, I had fun doing it.
Shopping has been fun so far!!!

WOW - what surprises! Life always manages to shock you. Congrats to all on their baby boys/girls and shy babes!

Netty - I know what you mean - DH and I are not agreeing on names at all - at this point, these babies are leaving the hospital as baby boy and baby girl!

We haven't bought anything yet - I think that I am too superstitious. But hearing all you guys talk about your purchases has me itching to get out there!

No real purchases here either but we did decide on

the bedding that my grandmother is going to make curtains, diaper stacker, crib skirt, etc. to match and we are going with these colors - bright pink on Katie's crib and bright blue on Ty's crib with the kiwi green as the main color. A lot of people in our family have purchased clothes and we are getting some hand me downs so I am trying to hold off on clothes!

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Melissa! :-)

Netty - your shopping trip sounds like so much fun!

We have decided on our bedding and I think we know the crib & dresser set we both like the best. I might order the bedding this weekend....so exciting! I am going to try & restrain myself from buying anymore clothes since I know others will be buying for our little guy. I guess after waiting all of these years for our miracles, we are all entitled to a little over-shopping.

I am 20 weeks today....WOO HOO...I am so happy for all of us to be 1/2 way to meeting our babies!!

Melissa, I put you on the list. I'll be thinking of you next week! Liv didn't specify the date of her US. Liv if you are out there let us know!!!!

My mom and I bought fabric to have curtains made. DP and I are a little non-traditional about the nursery thing since we are mainly planning on having the baby room in with us - so no crib for now . We will get a co-sleeper to go in our room and decide on if we need a crib later.

The nursery walls are blue (we painted a couple of years ao and are not changing that - we rent so we are not keen to keep painting over and over). We have futon in there for guests which we are keeping, but I will get a new cover to go better with the kid-like theme. This I think will actually be useful in the beginning when DP is working and I am up all night with the baby. We can sleep in there if need so she can be rested for a long day's work and then come home and enjoy her little girl. We have a rocking chair and an end table which needs a new coat of paint and a bookshelf we will paint to match. I will get little baskets to go in the bookshelf for extra storage and my friend who is making the curtains also said she could make basket liners for the baskets that will go in the bookcase from the same fabric. We will purchase a dresser/changing table and then I think we are in good shape!

We are also holding off buying clothes since we will get some hand-me-downs and then anything else we need we will purchase after we know what we have gotten at the shower.

Laura, Happy Belated Birthday! Very nice of your husband to settle on the name.

Fossie- Love those colors combined with the vibrant kiwi green You are lucky to have your grandmother do all that neat stuff for her great-grandchildren. How special lady!

Celeste (Kristin), I had to giggle with the 'baby boy and baby girl' names. You already have reached the 20th week mark so shopping and fun are in order I am not superstitious, well, maybe a little. . .but I made a commitment to myself that I would not buy anything for the baby until I reached my 20th week mark. Although I am still at 19 weeks and 4 days, I think I am okay since the doctor had to shave one week from my 40 week mark because of the C-section, so I may be delivering at 39 weeks. . . hence my halfway was already passed . DH said to me that I did pretty good all this time to control myself and not do serious damage so you can tell how "unleashed" I was over the weekend. I was defnitely on a mission! I am still not buying clothes since there will be plenty of those that will be given to us as gifts or hands me down, so I am aiming at the bigger stuff.

Happy Wednesday Mommas!

Hi Ladies - I called my hospital today to sign up for childbirth classes. These are the classes that I signed up for:
Prepared Childbirth - 4 classes
Infant CPR - 1 class
Breastfeeding - 1 class
Baby Care Basics - 1 class
Hospital Tour

At my hospital these fill up pretty fast, so if any of you are planning on taking classes, you might want to register early. I signed up for everything that was offered!

My ultrasound is the 9th of June. I should be close to 21 weeeks then. My ticker on here is a bit off somehow. Hopefully he/she will let us know on the 9th! I weighed myself yesterday and then today and I had gained 2 lbs. in a day? What the?!!!!! I am drinking water like crazy. I feel a bit achy today too...wonder what that is about.
