We signed up for classes as well. We will take a six week childbirth class, newborn care, breastfeeding and I think DP will take infant CPR, but I am already certified.

We do need to sign up for a hospital tour at some point.

I am actually starting my childbirth classes early because the dates for the later classes conflicted with vacation plans that we have. so I will start at 24 weeks and end at 30 weeks I think and then I will take the rest of the classes in my 3rd trimester since they are shorter.

Also keep in mind that often here are alternatives to the hospital based classes if they are full or you are interested in a more alternative perspective (I am - I rank about a 7/10 on the crunchy/hippie scale). You can check around in your area and see what is available. We are taking our classes at a community resource center that offers classes that are a little more alternative and focus very much on natural childbirth. There are also Bradley method classes which run 12 weeks and cover BF and newborn care. I think I will get the Bradley method book - but am not going to take the class (I have heard they are a little preachy). I think it just depends on what you are looking for...

The classes have been at the back of my mind as something I need to sign up for but I just haven't done it - I think we are going to do the Marvelous Multiples class and breastfeeding and that's it.

WORRIED about "BIG" Ultrasound

My "BIG" 19-week ultrasound is next Friday and I'm completely worried and stressed out that they are going to find something wrong or that something is going to be amiss. I am a worrier and stress over things a lot by nature. But this ultrasound usually goes smoothly, right? Has anyone ever heard/experienced any tales of something going horribly wrong at the 19 or 20-week mark? We have a doppler so I can check his/her heartbeat and know that everything is okay. But still I can't shake this feeling that something will go wrong or that something bad will happen. (I should add that to this point everything has gone very well; I've had several ultrasounds and everything looked perfect.)

I too was really stressed and worried and I know that you can't just shut off the worry but know that if you are hearing the heartbeat, have had good ultrasounds, etc. the odds are that everything is perfectly fine and that this will just be an awesome ultrasound because it is so lengthy and you can see so much!

I'm sure you will be just fine! I was really stressed about the u/s, too. I have had to go back for 2 follow-up u/s because our baby was moving around so much they couldn't get all the pictures they needed. They also want to watch his kidneys a bit closely. But I've been told it's completely normal & not too worry. SO - if you have to go back for any reason, don't worry. It's really common! I hope you have a wonderful appointment!

my cervix is a nother story
last week u/s said i was dilated and thinned out
and yesterday u/s said it was dilated and long
the dr was waiting for the radiologist to get a look and see which one is correct.
if its dilated and long i might get the cerclage done tomorrow. hopefully that happens.

last night i was feeling a lot of pressure and no contractions. the pressure has stopped.

Kory: WOW they are already more then 1 lbs!!! Good job. We'll keep our for a long and thicker cervix.

Sunny kisses: I was also very worried about the 19 wks US, but it all went well and it was quite reassuring. It will be lots of fun too, you will be able to see your little one in details and moving. The worring part, I guess is part of being a parent and after a such a loooonnnnnggg wait it is just so important for us. welcome to our board.

Chie, I love that you called Sunny Skies, Sunny Kisses! That is adorable!

Welcome Sunny. I worry before every test, every US and almost every day for no good reason. Of course things can go wrong at any step of the game, but at this stage it is very rare and it is much more likely that you will give birth to a healthy baby. I'll put you on the US list and you can let us know how things go!
When is your due date?

Kory, I am hoping hoping that your cervix is nice and long and they can place a cerclage. That would be wonderful. I am glad you have such stong little babies in there! I am glad you are keeping us posted. We worry!

sunny_skies, Please don't worry, try to relax and think that everything will be okay.

Laura- your babies are measuring very nice.At 21 weeks, with triplets and each one of them weighing a little over one pound is just wonderful and that means a healthy weight.

sunny skies. I too worry before every appointment. Try to relax...it's always amazing to see the baby.

Hopin - for a nice long cervix. Glad to hear the babies are doing so well.

Well we just got back from ordering the baby's crib. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it - here's a picture.

Fossie love the colors that you are going with. I think it's awesome that your grandmother is doing all the bedding.
