The 'momnesia' thing is sooo true, it really didn't affect me that much after delivery, it was during the pregnancy that it got extremely bad. When I was preggo w/ my last son, I wanted some broccoli, but I didn't want a lot, so I cooked a little and was going to put the rest in a ziploc bag. I grabbed the baggies from the cabinet, put the broccoli in a bag and threw it in the cabinet, and put the bags in the fridge. I didn't realize I had done until I went back hours later looking for another baggie for something, and discovered the broccoli. I also get full really fast and I always feel like something is going to come back up and it never does.

What do you think about this ladies?...

I mentioned Friday that my tummy cramps and pulling sensations were quite strong (nothing as bad as actual menstral cramps, just more than what I've been feeling since getting my BFP). But for past 2 days I haven't felt much at all. I've had a few fleeting pulls, and I still have a light fullness in my abdomen, but do you think maybe this is just part of the process? Someone posted the other day that at week 8 they are starting to have less pregnant feelings, perhaps it is totally normal that this comes and goes. I'm just wondering for you ladies who are ahead of me and felt the pulling/crampy feelings, does this go with your experience at all?

I don't want to worry too much, and I know I have no real cause since all tests up til now have shown strong results. Just wondering...

Melissa, I did feel the pulling/crampy feeling, and at times it felt like my uterus was heavy. Sometimes when I stretched it felt like I was pulling a stomach muscle. But Im not really feeling the pulling/crampiness now, I'll be 8 weeks on Wednesday.

The pulling/stretching thing definately come and goes. Don't worry about it too much. I don't usually feel it unless I'm paying a lot of attention. That might be because I was pregnant recently, though, so there's less new stretching to do. But even last time I don't remember being constantly aware of pulling and stretching. I wouldn't worry about that too much.

I've had a lot of issues with food lately, too. I can't eat much at a sitting but I have to eat every couple hours. I'm intentionally trying to eat more often to prevent the nausea from getting too bad, but I tend to get really hungry if I don't eat often. It's weird.

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I finally got sore boobs...LOL! Up until yesterday I only had fatigue and super smell. Never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to get nauseous.

Names:
Girl: Love the name Ava, but it is way too popular now so I now am leaning towards Lila.
Boy: Love the name Jack, but that is also so popular now...I like Eric, but my husband says every Eric he has known in his life is a bad seed, so he refuses!

I see a lot of you think I should have another Beta. I am trying not to obsess, but I think I am going to make them...the weird thing is that they are not some small, no-name facility. It is one of the largest IVF centers in Miami! I don't know why they have such a strange protocol. How do they expect me to go from March 19th all the way to April 7th with NO INFO! Crazy!

For the ladies who can't wait to get nauseous, I say enjoy being nauseous free for as long as you can. It is absolutely horrible...LOL I would rather have any other symptom than nauseousness. For me it starts in the morning and ends in the evening.

Dipping my toe in the November pool....

Hi Ladies-

I've been posting on some of the other boards (the IVF threads mainly), but have been nervous to join this one because I haven't wanted to press my luck. Nevertheless, after waking up five times last night to pee, I guess there's no avoiding the fact that I'm knocked up! So here I am....

As of today, I'm 7 weeks, which is exciting, but I just wish I were, oh, 20 weeks. I think I'd feel more secure!

I was finally starting to calm down from all the nervousness that this process has induced over the past several weeks, but I just stumbled across a few upsetting posts from women at about my stage of pregnancy who suffered miscarriages. While I would love to be a source of support to these brave women, reading those posts only increases my paranoia and anxiety.... Needless to say, every moment right now alternates between excitement and peril.

Anyway, I hope it's ok for me to join in the fun here for a little support and validation. (I feel that weird pulling sensation, too!)

I hope you're all feeling well!

Chandra ~ (and the other sickly feeling ladies) I'm sorry that it lasts all day for you. That must be horrible.

For me, I've just had a few fleeting moments of "ewy" feelings. I wouldn't say I've had real nausea. Also, not a darn things sounds good to eat. I can usually decide on breakfast, but it gets harder as the day goes on to find something to eat.

I have to say that last night my hubby grilled hamburgers and that was BY FAR the best dinner I've had in weeks...strange?

I'm making Jambalaya tonight...we'll see how that goes.

Sam ~ Demand another beta, and don't feel like you have to apologize for wanting another one. Your first was a great sturdy number, but only 1 is strange. I've had three (had to ask for the 3rd) and my u/s is this Friday, and I can still hardly wait to know more.

I'm feeling much better about my crampy/pulls since hearing from you ladies that yours have come and gone too.

Eggy ~ So glad to have you here!!!

I know exactly what you mean about scary stories. When I was in my 2ww after my first IUI, I stopped reading some posts b/c so many ended in sad stories about the wait ending in (and for so many wonderful women, it happens over and over and over again). Now that I've got the awesome knowledge that mine did work, I find myself terrified for other reasons. The looming truth that I may not carry to term is out there. Some days it is overwhelming and other days I can keep it in check pretty good. It is, in part, our little group here that makes me smile when the fear gets too heavy. We're all a bunch of scaredy cats with our and sending lots of over here. You're in great company!!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Melissa! I'm excited to be here.

So... a few survey question to get the day rolling (let the procrastination and lack of focus begin!):

1. What's for breakfast today?

2. If you work, how long do you plan to work during your pregnancy? And will you go back after you have your baby?

My responses:

1. Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal w/ 1/2 banana and non-fat milk plus a PrimaCare One prenatal vitamin (Did I see somewhere on this thread that we should be taking our vitamins at night? I always do mornings... is that wrong?)

2. I'm a writer who teaches college English part-time. I'm teaching a late spring class, and am scheduled to teach a summer course that runs June through August. But I'm starting to question my summer session plans because it's every day (instead of two days a week like my normal year schedule) in a room without air-conditioning. I taught in the same room during fall semester and it was sweltering even in October. I can't imagine spending July in there, especially pregnant. As for teaching after pregnancy, there's no reason why not as I'd have a totally flexible schedule. Then again, let's see if I want to.

eggy-some people take their vitamins at night because they feel nauseous after they take them, which I happen to be one of those people, but I like torturing myself so I still take mine during the day...LOL

1. Cookie Crisp cereal with whole milk, and now Im drinking a bottle of water

2. I ended up on bedrest a month before I was due w/ my other 2 pregnancies, so Im going to work as long as I possibly can. I do plan on returning to work, but I plan on being in the office part time, and I can work at home if I want.

Eggy ~ One of the ladies had trouble with the pill making her feel sick. It is suggested that if the prenatal vitamin makes you nauseous in the morning, you should take it at night instead. Taking it in the AM is totally fine.

Survey ~

1. I had life cereal with lots of 1% milk and 1/2 a banana...Then I ruined a perfectly healthy and yummy breakfast with a hotdog for lunch

2. I'm a teacher, but when DH and moved from GA to NH, I left. It has always been agreed that when DH and I had a child together, then I would stay home for a few years. I'll probably sub once the baby is a year or two and I'd like to get my Masters between now and returning to the classroom full-time too.

Eggy ~ are you published? I wanted to be a writer when I was a kid (and still do secretly). I guess it is the teacher in me.

mine

Breakfast: yogurt and a banana. Had a cheesestick for a snack. One prenatal vitamin.

Work: I currently work at a desk. So I am not on my feet. I want to work up until the end, due to me wanting to spend my entire 3 months with baby. Hopefully it will work out that way. I think I may have to go abck to work right away, due to lack of funds. We will see though. His mother may stay with us for a bit and watch baby when i return to work. This will make me feel a lot better, since I am terrifed of baby being in day care too early.

No, not published yet, Melissa. I'm lame. I've been working on a book since I finished my MFA, but it's nowhere near finished. Maybe if I take the summer off from teaching, I can work on it.... (I think I'm really over the idea of teaching for the summer! I cannot imagine cramming a 16 week course into 6 weeks!) As for your being a writer, why not go for it? If you're not teaching now, maybe you've got the time?
