Eggy, welcome!! I know just how you feel about being paranoid about seeing others miscarriages. I obsess on reading peoples siggies, and compare everythin to my experience!! I know it's not healthy, but I just can't help myself!! I also wish the nausea would begin. I've had a few queasy moments, but they never last long. I'm sure Chandra is right and if/when it hits us, we'll be cursing ourselves!!

1. Bowl of Frosted Flakes w/ 2% milk, prenatal vitamin

2. I plan to work as long as I can up until the end of my pregnancy. I work in Labor in Delivery, which can be stressful, but I work at night, so there's a lot of down time. I want all of my maternity leave to be AFTER the baby is here, so I'm going to work as long as I safely can.

Ok - I'm procrastinating, too...so I''ll jump in...

1. lemon yogurt with blueberries on top + english muffin with butter + glass of calcium OJ (plus the usual cocktail of baby aspirin, Folgard, Prednisone and prenatal vitamin)

2. I have a corporate job, and am very flexible with work hours and location (work from home 2 days a week now, but could go to 5 days if I want). I'll work as late into pregnancy as possible, so I can save as much time as possible after delivery. I'll be off for at least 3 months paid, but might consider taking more time without pay. Financially we'd be fine, but I'm unsure of the impact on my job/team...I've also been thinking about making a move to another part of our company and maybe this is the impetus I need (and if I do so, then I'd probably take 6 months before starting the new job).

You're not lame Eggy. I remember reading the "Clan of the Cave Bear" series when I was in 7th grade. If you're not familiar with the books, they're huge and researched based. Well I read the 4 that were available at the time and then waited 12 years for the last one to come out. TWELVE YEARS!!!!! It was worth the wait, but this author spends so long researching her topic that it took her that long to get the last one out. I highly recommend the series by the way. I love to read, and now that I'm a teacher I have the most awesome excuse to read kid's and young adult authors. There are some really great books out there that fall into this age group.

What genre would your book fall into?

As far as teaching this Summer...I think if you can get away with taking the time off, then do. These are the last months those of us without a first child will have to be alone for a very, very long time. Even though I'm a full time stepmom, the kids are older and spend weekend nights out or vactions with their mom, so I get "me" time. I can't wait to give up my "me" time!!!!!

Oh...and I, too, obsess about what could happen now that I feel I have so much to lose! My OB/GYN's office just called to say she's sick and will be in only after my appt, so they were wanting to reschedule... I've been waiting a whole week for this appt and it's the first u/s for my dh (who's been gone since the day of ET). I'm hoping they work something out today!

In the meantime, my RE's office called and asked if they could move UP our official u/s from this Friday to tomorrow am. So I guess either way, in the next 24 hours, we'll have an u/s... I was just really looking forward to it today - if something goes awry, I'd rather my OB/GYN tell me - I have a much better connection with her than my RE...

Anyway...I know I shouldn't complain. I've had more ultrasounds than most!

Kristen, please keep us posted about your u/s situation! Also, lemon yogurt sounds really good to me right now. What brand? Can I come over for breakfast?

Melissa, just fiction, no genre (not a mystery, not Y/A, etc.). People love those Jean Auel books, which I've never read. When I have time, I should check them out.

Meanwhile, I definitely agree with you about reading books for kids. I love revisiting the kids and Y/A fiction of my youth. I think part of the reason I can't wait to have kids is to share all the books I loved with a new generation. I just hope I'll end up someday with a kid who loves the Little House on the Prairie books as much as I did!

1. Bowl of Corn Chex with skim milk and a banana, an orange as a snack and then Cuban food for lunch (black beans and rice and shredded beef with onions and peppers...YUM!)

2. Good question. I have a desk job so it won't be a problem to work until close to the end, but I am not sure if will keep the same job. I work for a small company and it would depend on if my boss would let me work from home after the baby comes. If not, I will probably bartend a couple nights a week...I tended bar all through college and up until I was 29 so it would be easy for me to go back to that if I need to.

Eggy - if you're up to a trip to Denver, you're welcome for breakfast anytime! It was Yoplait, btw :-) I'm also partial to Strawberry and Harvest Peach!

See...I was a big fan of fantasy/science fiction books as a kid (Piers Anthony genre). Loved them - couldn't get enough. Also liked Choose Your Own Adventure books. I wouldn't know what to do with a kid if they picked up a Little House on the Prairie book...! hehe

Here's my answers to the survey questions.

1. All I had was a 6oz low fat mixed berry yogurt. I guess I'm really going to have to start eating more because by lunch time I felt awful.

2. I'll probaby work as long as I can to have more time with the baby. I work at a bank so I can sit around most of the time. I'm planning on going back to work, I'll just have to figure some things out...

I can't wait until my appointment next week!! I can't stand wondering.... I want to enjoy being pregnant but I just wish I could fast foward to the 2nd trimester.

Choose Your Own Adventure were definitely awesome. They should make an adult version, don't you think? See, I did like fantasy a bit, too. In fact, I'm still kind of geeky and should admit to the fact that I went to the Buffy reunion last week.

What do you mean, 'went to the Buffy reunion'? Was it an event with the actors, etc.?

Um, yes, it was part of the Paley Festival here in LA. It was a panel discussion with Joss Whedon, some of the other writers, and most of the cast. It was really geeky, but kind of fun.

Choose Your Own Adventure were my favorite in elementary school!!!! In fact, a teacher friend who retired "willed" me her class library. She's been teaching for over 30 yrs. There were tons of those books in there. I introduced them to my DSSs, big hit all over again!

I used to love mysteries too (Victoria Holt in middle school and Sherlock Holmes in elementary school).

I guess since I skipped right to adult books pretty young, I'm making up for lost time with the younger books now. Jerry Spinelli is my very favorite children's author. Maniac Mcgee (my maiden name, hehehe) won the Newberry Medal. It is a great book about anit-racism and family. All of his books are awesome.

I'm working my way through a seriers right now, "The Mistmantle Chronicles." Super good too. Great fantasy fiction story about a kingdom run by otters, hedgehogs, and squirrels. It has a kind of "Mrs. Rigsby and the Rats of NIMH" feel to it.

Has anybody read "The Pillars of the Earth" yet? AWESOME adult book. It is the best 1000 page book you'll ever read!

We've got to get our reading in now ladies, gosh knows we won't be able to this time next year!

Leah ~ Yup, you should try to get some fiber in there in the am too. An empty stomach will make you sick.
