I went and bought her first couple of outfits after the appointment. I kept getting all teary eyed picking things out. I've always dreamed of buying baby clothes, I can't believe I actually am, and for MY baby!! I just feel so very blessed and grateful. Boy or girl, I am just so happy that she is healthy and everything looks good.

Oh, Congrats Rennae!! You got me teary eyed reding your post, I am so happy you got your little girl
Glad baby looks good and is healthy

Rennae-congrats on your little girl I am so happy for you!!!

I had a really bad day yesterday,, I got the call from my Dr and all my results are in,, First my thyroid is off I have to have it repeated and start synthroid,, that is the reason for my fatigue and Increased heart rate,, so no biggie,,, my iron is way low so start a rx for iron,, no big deal,,I failed my 3 hr glucose shocking but with pcos I am not that that suprised but I am not a huge person and I have only gained 4lbs so its just how my body is reacting but this I can handle,, what I broke down about was that my AFP came back slightl elevated for the risk of Neural Tube Defect!!! In my heart I know that it is fine and healthy but I just cant seem to get out of this funk I go for a level 3 U/S on Monday so if everyone can keep my baby in your thoughts and prayers that would be very helpful thanks so much

Sorry for the long post hope everyone is having a great day

Daney, You poor thing, "this to shall pass". You will be ok with the gestational diabetes as long as you follow thier meal plans and keep your sugar intake down.
I will definately be praying for your little one, but I am pretty sure you have nothing to worry about.

Please let us know if we can do anything to help make this time a little easier for you.

Kristen, Yes, I still have to find out gender! Remember my little on was being stubborn at my 20 week scan. My next appt is July 14th and I will be sure to drink something nice and sweet ahead of time.

So has anyone been having Braxton Hicks contractions already? I swear I have been, but is it to early for this to be happening? At first I thought it was the baby pressed up against my stomch, but it's still to small to be able to feel the baby like that isnt it? Every once in a while when I lie down, I notice my abdomen tightening and it gets hard as a rock, no pain just hard tightening and then within a few seconds its seems to disappear, is this the baby, or braxton hicks????

Those are contractions!! I've been feeling them for about 2 weeks. It's really wierd the first time but now I barely even notice.

Kristen - I'm glad all is well. I know what a scary feeling that is!

Rennae - Congratulations on your baby girl. What wonderful news. You must've had so much fun buying clothes for her.

Chandra - I hope all of your pain goes away soon. I did my glucose test early, too. Last week. All of my results came back and everything is fine but my iron is kind of low so I'm taking an OTC supplement. I'm wondering if I'll be tested again later on.

I had another appointment with my perinatologist yesterday and both of my boys are doing great. And there is no mistaking they are boys!! They each weigh 14 oz and my belly is getting huge! The best part is my cervix is in great shape so no worries about bed rest yet.

Daney-I hope everything turns out ok, I'll be praying for your little boy.

I've actually been feeling painful cramps/contractions, I don't know what the heck they are, but I felt them before with my other pregnancies, so it stops me in my tracks for a few seconds and life returns to normal.

Rennae - Congrats on the girl! Yay!!

Daney - Sorry about the results and your bad day. I posted on your other thread about the neural tube defects, and I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for you!

Okay, so I am trying to figure out the Braxton Hicks thing - I felt something different last night for the first time, and again once earlier today, and am wondering if that was it. I thought it was the baby flipping over in my stomach, since it kind of felt like him pushing and kicking his way around, but it was definitely a little more pressure than I have felt before. I don't need to be worried about them do I?

Oh, and my OB said yesterday that it would be okay to travel now - we are planning a trip to Hawaii for a long weekend as our "babymoon." Would you guys all feel comfortable flying at 24-25 weeks? My OB was the one who suggested Hawaii, since I would prefer not to go to Mexico, so I should be okay, right? I keep telling myself I can't worry about every little thing or I will never survive the rest of this pregnancy and this kid's life with any ounce of sanity.

Sounds like you are feeling the baby. Braxton Hicks from what I have read, and what I have been feeling is just a hardening of the uterus. Your abdomen tightens and feels hard as a rock, I have had no pain with them, but later in pregnancy they can feel painful. The moving feeling you are experiencing is the baby most likely. You can ask your Ob about it, but I really would not worry to much.

Dana - hang in there...there have been lots of suspect results from an AFP on this site that have been later contradicted. I'm sure your baby is fine, though I'll be sending lots of positive vibes your way!

Heather - I'm no expert either, but it sounds like what I've been feeling and I've attributed it to baby movement. It kinda feels like having an alien in my tummy! I haven't had any 'hardening of the uterus' that they say comes with contractions. My NP asked me at my 20 week appt if I'd had any contractions, like it was totally expected by now!!, and she said to call them only if I experienced more than 4 an hour. Holy crap. I'm pretty sure I'd call them after the first 2!

What an exciting, terrifying time of life, ladies... :-)
