Yeah, I went along with a friend who is much more into it than I am. While I watched and enjoyed the show, I'm by no means a fanatic, so I was a little out of my element. There were some seriously, seriously die-hard people there; it was a little scary.

Welcome, Tammy!

I have to say I love when people share their name ideas. When I write, I always use a baby name book to come up with characters, so discussing names is totally fun for me. What other names do people like?

Obviously, it's way way way early to even discuss these things, but the husband and I had a little what-if talk about names over the weekend. We're more or less on the same page vis-a-vis girls' names we like. But boys' names? Not so much. Generally speaking, we're pretty traditional about names -- no funky spellings, etc. But the boys' names I like are not my husband's cup of tea at all (Beckett, Ezra, Jasper). We both like Henry and Charles, but worry that they're too popular.

So what are you ladies into?

Yes, it was our first U/S. Apparently my RE doesn't like to get too attached. He did 2 beta's then waited until after 7 weeks to do an ultrasound and he's already sending me off to the OB.

Daney ~ WONDERFUL news! I bet you feel 1000% times better after seeing that little sac. You're so lucky that you got to do that already! I've still got the word "ectopic" playing in my head over and over again. I don't know why I'm so worried about that, it just scares the crap out of me. It only happens in 2% of pregnancies, and I don't have any of the risk factors, but still...Friday can't come fast enough!

Okay, so here's the update on our little thread...(again, if I've messed up EDD dates, please let me know and I'll fix it next time )

Dherbert ~ singleton ~ EDD 11/3
Amzippity ~ twins ~ EDD 11/12
Irayon ~ twins ~ EDD 11/4

TTC#2 ~ I'm so excited for you that you've got your u/s Wednesday! YAY!

Leah ~ Don't read too much into the dates. For those of us with this being our first pregnancy with singletons, who knows when our little turkeys will come? I was almost a month late. My mom was then induced and in labor for 36 hours with no meds!! Of course, she has to remind me of this all the time ...moms...gotta love'em! I know they don't let you go that long anymore. My mom scheduled a birthday cruise for the week I'm due. It must be Murphey's Law, scheduling her cruise that week because there was NO WAY my first IUI would work! Right? So anyways, she's rescheduled it for the first full week in December. If needed, I'll have to be induced before then. But, really, these little buggers will come in their own time. You may not be last!

I have to add something that is in bad taste...just feeling the need to share...I have 2 dogs whom I love dearly...but OMG the farting is really getting out of control! My one dog, Nina, snores, burbs, and farts like a 300lb man! If my little baby bean doesn't start making me sick, this stinky dog will!!! Talk about air pollution! I've had two green clouds waft my way just since posting this message. This super smell thing sucks!!

Eggy - Welcome! You're only 2 days ahead of me. I know how you feel. I can't wait to get a little further along. 7 weeks still seems so early.

I'm coming in late to the questions, but I'll answer anyway.

1. a small bagel with cream cheese and a glass of milk (usually skim but today was whole because that's all we had - ew, whole milk) plus a variety of things since then.

2. I plan to work as long as possible, but due to the likelyhood that I'll be put on bedrest, it's unlikely I'll work until term. I'm planning on bedrest to happen unexpectedly any time from 20 weeks on (or whatever unexpected crisis may occur). I'm still hoping to work as long as possible, though. I'm a chemist and supervisor of the chemistry laboratory for a small pharmeceutical manufacturing company. I'm on my feet quite a bit at work and stress is major part of my day, not to mention that I'm around a fair bit of chemicals, so that will play into how long I can work, too.
I will definately go back after the baby(s) are born. We can't afford not too since I make more than my husband. I only get 6 weeks maternity leave (actually short-term disability, we're too small to qualify for maternity leave or the Family Medical Leave Act).

I loved Choose Your Own Adventure too! They were great.

I read Pillars of the Earth a little while ago. I had read other Ken Follett books before that one and it seemed dissimilar from some of this other books while similar all at the same time (that doesn't make sense). It was very good. I left it somewhat dissatisfied, though, and I can't remember why. I remember really enjoying it while I read it, though.

Tamarie - Welcome! Congrats on the 2 h/bs!

Daney - Congrats on the third beta! Yay!

Infertilitynovice - I don't know much about it, but I believe low betas that don't double fast enough usually indicate ectopic and your betas seem pretty good. I don't think you have to worry, but I understand.

I think I'll stop typing now. I'm not making any sense!

Am ~ thank you so much for your reassuring words...every little bit helps! I know, I know, it is illogical to be worried...but, well, you know...I guess it is all part of the process

I haven't read any other books by this author. He's said that "Pillars" was unlike anything else he had written. Doesn't he normally write mysteries?

Okay, I'm going to attempt the impossible...I'm going to try not to check this site again for the rest of the night! DH and I are having little snippy moments a lot in the past few days, so I'm going to turn you guys off for the night and cuddle with my honey

We'll see if it is actually possible...I'm pretty heavily addicted right now, might be time for an "intervention"...hehehehe

Have an awesome night ladies!

I wouln't say that he writes mysteries, really. They're more adventure/suspense-ish. For the most part his books tend to be period fiction. Whatever the story, it usually takes place during a previous time and you can tell he had to do a lot of research to make it accurate. He's written a book called A Dangerous Fortune which was based in the 1800s and was about a death in a school and the aftermath for a family over the next decades, sort of murder mysteryish but not directly (I don't remember it well - I read it a while ago). He writes a lot of books that take place during WWII which are pretty interesting. He's also written one about a biological lab where someone snuck a virus out of the lab which was very Robin Cook-esque (it was called something like White Out, but I don't remember). I liked that one a lot.

This is why I'm a scientist. I can't describe things to save my life. I do like his books, though, and I recommend them.

hmmm bagels and cream cheese. that sounds really good right now. I kinda want to hop in the car and head to Noah's right now!! to bad my little DS is asleep. Maybe Ill send DH there on his way home from work tonight.

I ate cereal w strawberries and 1%, and also some scrambles eggs w cheese, after I made that for my litle guy.

I dont work. Actually, I just dont have a job, I work darn hard. Im a full time mom, and an exhausted one. Latley Ive been wishing for a desk job! since DS is cutting his 2 year molars, hes a hard one to handle. Anything would be more restful than his pace!! Last night he woke up every hour and a half, in teething pain, and this morning was chipper, in high drive, and ready to go. Me and DH were totally hacked. This is our third night of that sched, and its getting old. Today we went to the pediatrician and he prescribed tylenol w condene. anyone used that on a todder-ever?
