Off to my 7 week, 2 day ultrasound. Last week we saw the heartbeat. I'm hoping everything still looks good. A little nervous.... Will report back later!

Am & infertilitynovice, thanks. I was thinking that's what I was probably going to do. I couldn't decide if I wanted to call and tell them or just show up for the appointment and tell them then. I'll just have to let them know when I call that I'm a freaking basket case and I NEED to have the appointment! I'll be 6w2d for the appointment.... The days are crawling!

They may not even do an u/s that day. My initial appt with OBGYN is scheduled at my 7 w, 5 day mark and I was told that I will only be meeting with a nurse for an hour to get background information. After this meeting, I will be linked to my assigned Dr and probably be scheduled the following week for u/s ( I wll be over 8 weeks at that point). I am glad I asked, otherwise I would have dragged my husband there for no reason and would have bee disapointed.

Leah ~ Sega's made an interesting point. When you call to talk to them about how far along you are, double check that they're doing the u/s then. I know for sure mine is this Friday. Like I said, this u/s is supposed to show the heartbeat (my OB's regular policy is to do the first u/s at 6.5 weeks for IUI patients expecting to see the heartbeat). I guess every OB is different.

My first OB appt will be the same thing, I'm meeting w/ a nurse first, and I have to bring my med recs from the IVF so she can review them.

Ok I had my 5w 4d u/s today and the u/s tech said we won't see the hb today cause it's too early. She said the earliest she's ever seen one is 6weeks. So she pointed out the yolk sac and the baby then we saw the teeny tiny heart beating away. She said you have an overachiever! HB measured 100 bpm and baby measured ahead 2 days at 5w 6d. She said everything looks SO good and the fact that we have an early hb is a sign of a good strong baby! I'M SO FREAKIN EXCITED! The next u/s is next week, then the week after that I have a consult with my RE and he will then release me to a regular OB.

Steph ~ No wonder you're so excited!!! How awesome for you!!! I bet the fact that she said just before that there may not be a heartbeat to be seen, made it SOOOO much better when you did see it. I'm so thrilled for you and your wonderful, wonderful news!! It is neat that you get to have another one next week too.

Yeah, Steph! What an awesome surprise! I had also set my expectations low, even at 6w1d, so I nearly jumped off the table (not a good idea, mind you!) when we saw the heartbeat. So incredible - I'm excited for you!

I'm so upset. RE just sent me home from work for bed rest. Started pretty heavy spotting about noon. I'm not cramping so that eases my mind a little but I'm still scared to death. Has u/s yesterday and everything looked good. Whats this spotting about???????

Linda ~ Oh, no...I am so sorry that you are going through this. It must be very scary. What did the RE say about the spotting? Could it be a drop in your progesterone? I know that will cause you to bleed, but I don't know any other reason. I am really glad to hear that you don't have any cramps. I really hope you get some answers really soon, and I am praying that you and your little babybeans stay healthy.

My RE is not concerned with prog. level because 2 weeks ago it was 332. I've been off PIO & supp for 2 weeks now. She said my body was producing enough on its own. She said sometimes there is just bleeding with pregnancy as long as it does'nt get worse or start cramping.
