Hi everyone sorry I have been MIA but I was visiting my mom for a week and Park was all out of whack before that it turns out it was teething and he is startig to do better!!! I cant believe he is gonna be 7 months old!!! crazy

Rennae hope the braces are going well.. Park still doesnt sleep thru the night so I hope that the back sleeping doesnt make her regress!! As for snacks try the baby mum mums the are quick dissolving rice cake things that they can bite park loves them...we have alos tried the yogurt melts, and cheeze puffs and i bought the biter biscuts but havent tried them..park crawls a little but mostly just wiggles around the house he is into everything!! He also pulls himself up to standing which has resulted in to some tumbles so sad!!

Melissa sorry about dh job,,my dhs plant is closing in sept to but thankfully as of right now they are transfering him to tennessee I told him i dont care where as long as he has a job!!

Kay Hi have a nice vacay and good luck with your fet ever since our loss we are ready to actively try I think we may do clomid this month

So what kinds of finger foods are safe for 7 month olds?? I'm so terrified of Avery choking, I don't really know what her options are.

I have become a pro with finger foods because that is ALL Clara has wanted to eat. I was really worried about choking too. At first Clara gagged a bit but now is doing very well. Here are some ideas:
egg yolk scrambled or hard boiled
banana bits slightly smashed
sweet potato chuncks steamed until very soft
zucchini steamed until soft
very ripe avacado
O cereal
shredded cheese
no salt added canned green beans in smaller pieces
very soft cheese like Laughing Cow
Gerber makes some good things like:
Lil Crunchies
yogurt melts
puffs
meat sticks

At first Clara just chased all this around on her high chair, but now she is really good at getting it to her mouth. It has just taken some practice.
Hope this helps.
Kay

Kay - wow, that's great Clara eats so many different things. I guess I need to get brave and try... Is she crawling yet??

Daney - sounds like Parker is doing great, Avery doesn't get around too much yet. We haven't got the braces yet, that'll be Monday. I'm pretty anxious about them, hope she does well.

Clara is not crawling yet. She is getting around though. She creeps backward and scoots a bit on her bottom. She also gets around by rolling. The relaxed days of an stay- in- one- place baby are over. She does put EVERYTHING in her mouth so I have to really watch her.

Daney - Parker is just precious, he's gotten so big!! Do you ever get people telling you that you have a fat baby?? People are constantly tell me what a "fat little baby" I have!! It kinda makes me mad. Anyway, what brand are the mum mums?? Where did you get his little car that he's riding?? Is it easy for him to get around on??

Kay - Avery also puts everything in her mouth, we're gonna have to really watch her when she's crawling and walking.

Daney- Parker is adorable! That ride on looks great. Do they make it in pink lol! Parker does not look fat, he looks like a healthy lil boy. My oldest (turned 16 yesterday.... oh my!) was HUGE! I had a man tell me he was fat and I gave him a piece of my mind. I bet he never told another mom her child was fat!

Parker's a doll...Georgia's a chubby baby so I'm getting used to people telling me she's "big". Personally, I think she's perfect, who wants a skinny baby anyways? Georgia has finally cut some teeth. She got her first one about five days ago and the second one two days later. She's been a TOTAL crank which is NOT like her...she's usually so smiley and happy....Kay, you're very brave giving Clara finger foods already, I'd be waaaaayyy too chicken to do that. Right now, Georgia is on pureed Heinz baby food, and so far she likes everything except peas. The peas were a disaster...LOL. I can't believe she'll be seven months tomorrow...Our babies are growing up way too quick!!!

Bunniswife- good to see you again! I am glad Georgia is doing well overall despite the teeth pain. Clara still has NO teeth!
I really had no choice with the finger food introduction. Clara refused to eat from a spoon. She pressed her lips together and turned her head. She hated anything mushed up, but when I gave her stuff she could put in her own mouth she ate it up! The food I give her is VERY soft or it can disolve in her mouth. She puts it in and then chews it with her gums. She actually does very well. In a way I am glad because I don't think she will have texture issues as we are able to introduce "older" foods.

It is amazing how all of our babes are so different, but all SO cute!

My oldest had texture issues and wouldn't eat anything with chunks in it. She's still a very picky eater to this day. Maybe it is a good thing Clara wouldn't start on the mushed up food. That's awesome.

I think Avery has texture issues as well. For instance, she won't eat the homemade veggies I made and froze for her, but she'll eat the exact same stuff that's already-made. The only real difference is mine isn't quite as smooth. She loves the baby bananas from the jar, but won't eat a real banana that I mash with a fork.

Have you guys given your LO's anything in the little mesh-bag feeder?? Avery loves eating just about anything out of that, but especially fresh apple slices. I even put a piece of chicken in it last night and she loved it.

So, I talked to her podiatrist today about getting her braces on Monday. Apparently she's going to have to wear the entire brace system, not just the lower portion, which means it goes from the very tops of her thighs to her toes. I'm really bummed. They've told me her mobility will be much more limited with the entire system on. The dr said he hopes she won't have to wear it long, but it makes me sad. I'm worried she won't be able to crawl and will just hate the whole thing. I already hate it for her!! Here's a picture of it:
Anyway, I really, really hope it's not as bad as I think it's going to be.

Rennae- I am so sorry you are dreading the braces so much. I totally understand and would feel the same way. We all hate to see our kids face challenges. I guess as a word of encouragement... young children are so resiliant. They can adjust to new things much more easily than we can. Also long range this could create in Avery a "nothing is going to stop me" attitude. I think youngsters who experience challenges early are more apt to react more positivly when things are challenging later in life. Don't limit your expectations for her and just encourage her to work out the frustrations. You two will make it through and be better off on the other side.

I have used the mesh bag with watermelon. Clara loved it! She has had a bit of a hard time holding on to it. It usually hits the floor.
