I am not sure if any of you are still around!? We must be busy mamma's of almost one year olds.
Any walkers yet. Clara has stood on her own, but seems scared to. She is really trying to communicate... so cute! I had a FET yesterday. I will have my BETA on Oct 2nd. Yikes I forgot how awful the 2 ww is! It sure helps to have Clara to hug and hold and keep my mind off the what ifs. Hope everyone is well! Kay

Kay!!! So happy to see your ticker! Thrilled to see that little peanut is snuggled in
![]() We're turning one people...how is everything? Who else is feeling the baby fever? There are several moms in my mothers' group that are pregnant with #2 now...gets me thinking. I think I'm more interested in having another baby so that Marlee has sibling than for my own satisfaction, but I really loved being pregnant and loved the infant stage too. We had a great time. We haven't made a decision for sure yet. Marlee is not quite 11 months and stands free hand (even claps and "reads" her books standing) but no walking on her own yet. She cruises a little but prefers for us to "walk" her. She's recently switched to one nap a day, and holy crap!, we're having a heck of a time!!! She goes down at 11ish and sleeps for about 2 hrs. That's great but it makes for a long morning and a long afternoon. She still needs a little snooze in the later afternoon but she's not taking it unless we're out driving. I think she's going through the terrible 2s already too...she wants what she wants when she wants it and will TELL YOU if you don't give it!!! I'm going to have to let her scream though, b/c giving in now will make things worse later. She high fives, blows kisses, makes a kissy face, will walk with push toy, and of course waves hi and bye. She's still on the small side but eats like a horse!!! She is my light.

Melissa- So glad to see you on here!! Marlee sounds darling. I can relate to the terrible two thing! Clara is very strong willed as well. Sometimes I just have to laugh. Clara celebrated her 1st bday last week... so bitter sweet. I love seeing her change, but oh this year has gone by too fast. Clara isn't walking and is very hesitant to stand on her own. She is very content with crawling still. I am not in a hury.
Sounds like the baby bug is starting to work on you. I am thrilled to be pg again, but it is more of a challenge with Clara. I don't get to rest as much and being patient while nausious is hard, but I wouldn't change a thing. Keep me posted! Kay

I'm so happy for you and your new pregnancy Kay! I'm meeting with a mom group friend who just had her #2. Her oldest is an awesome little girl, but a bit of a handful and is about 18 months old now. Her newest daughter is 2 months now. I'm meeting her to pick her brain about the reality of having 2 at the same time. I'm not 100% there yet, but like I've said before, I want Marlee to have a sibling she can relate to. My stepson are 16 and 12...they're great with her but she won't really grow up with them. There are practical reasons to have another, but I really love having this time with Marlee too. I've got some thinking to do before I make my decision either way.
It is so funny how different kids develop. Marlee is ahead in some areas and right on time with other things. I think a lot of it comes from the influence of the older kids in our moms group, who we see several times a week. I'd love to hear more about your pregnancy as it progresses, so keep in touch! ![]()

Thanks Melissa! I had my first u/s today..... we have a HB. I am so relieved.
As far as having another child..... I really could not wait. I am getting too old for this. I really knew it was now or never. Clara's next oldest sibling is 7 and I too wanted her to have a sibling close in age. We had frozen embies and just knew now was the time. It is harder to deal with the tiredness and m/s with a pre toddler, but we will get through. I think the ideal time is whenever YOU decide. You will know when that should be. I'd love to cheer you on when you start trying again! Kay

OMG Kay, congratulations!!! I wish I was preggers, it's hard to accept that Georgia will be my last baby. As for milestones, Georgia is taking steps unassisted now, has seven teeth and is starting to make words. She uses Mama and Dada in the proper context as well as Baba when she wants a bottle. She loves to play pattycake and will clap her hands if I ask her to. She has also picked up a distressing habit that I didn't have to deal with with her older sister. She has started biting. It's been over a month now and she bites me constantly. Hard too, my arms are covered in bruises and she even bit my lip once when I went to give her a kiss. I have said no biting firmly each time she has done it and she has cried after I've hollered ouch after she's hurt me but nothing seems to deter her. Any suggestions?

Thanks Bunni- I know about how hard it is to know this is the last one.... this will be my last one. I plan on anjoying every minute, but I know everything will go too quickly.
Wow georgia sounds adorable!! 7 teeth?! Clara has just her bottom two and those aren't in all the way. As far as the biting I guess I would try to stop it before it starts. When she puts her mouth on your body I would pull her away and say "no biting". At this age they don't have empathy so they don't understand that they are hurting you. My nephew was a biter too and has finally out grown it. I sure miss this group of women! Kay

Margaret, a good mom group friend's son started biting when he was 13ish months old. She was beside herself about it! They even met with an occupational therapist to see if there was some sort of physical issue that was causing it. I think the main things that helped was that she started watching for triggers and was on top of stopping it before it happened as much as possible. She found when he got over excited or over tired he was more apt to act out with the biting. She also gave us permission to stop him and also firmly tell him "no biting"...It seemed to mean more coming from someone beside her. I don't know how you feel about that or if that would even really apply to your situation, but it did seem to help. It lasted a few months and now he doesn't do anymore.
So, I guess just keep doing what you're doing...stay firm, consistent, and watch for triggers.

It's a good idea, I've tried moving my arms away before she goes in for a bite and if she bites me once now, I put her down right away. I think she knows she's not supposed to do it, whenever I say No, no, no to her, she shakes her head no and has recently started saying No, No, No but to be honest, I don't think she cares...LOL. She does tend to bite me more when she's frustrated about something, either she wants down or is tired. She has burst into tears a couple of times when I've yelled Ouch and it just broke my heart that I made her cry. She's such a good natured baby, I don't know why she's biting although we did used to let her latch onto our chins when she was hungry before she got teeth. I think now, I'm regretting it. I'll keep watching for her triggers and keep putting her down when she bites and hopefully she'll stop. She's also grinding her teeth which is dreadful to listen to, like nails on a chalkboard, anyone else have their LO grind their teeth?

Hi ladies! I thought I'd stop by and see if anyone was still on here... I miss this group of women! Melissa it's been fun seeing pictures of Marlee on FB (and Avery and Parker, too!).
Bunni - I know what you mean about the grinding teeth. It totally freaks me out! She only did it thankfully for a week or so, so hopefully Georgia outgrows it soon. I imagine it has to feel kind of cool when they finally get top and bottom teeth. Thinking of you near the date of Calvin's passing... Linnea is doing great. She has 6 teeth, is cruising and just starting to walk behind push toys, clapping, patting her legs and stomping her feet on command, waving bye-bye and sometimes hello, playing pat-a-cake, signing "more" and "book". She says Mama to everything and everyone but me...LOL. She says a form of Ball and Kitty Cat and is trying to pick up more words. It's so amazing being able to communicate with her now - what a great milestone. I'm still nursing 3 times a day, but only because I'd like to have that crutch when we go to Germany on the 15th...it's so much easier to just latch her on if she's freaking out on the plane! No doubt it's just for comfort now, she's fully into solids and whole milk. Anyone else's LO not too interested in milk? She tolerates it but I think she prefers water... She's off bottles and only drinks from a sippy cup. I just visited with a neighbor who has a 3.5 week old little boy. He is SO little! It's hard to believe our LOs were ever that small. We've come a long way in a year! What blessings, each and every one of them... Kay, I'm so thrilled for you - almost 11 weeks! Yeah - almost in your 2nd trimester. My how time flies. We have talked about trying for #2, as well. It's a little complicated (when isn't it, eh?) since we have to consider my going back to work or not. If we tried, the first month we'd likely be able to transfer would be Feb or Mar, assuming I wean by Dec 31 and get AF in 2-3 months. I'm a little worried I'll never get AF again - I still haven't had a cycle this entire time. But I am still BFing, so I guess that's not entirely unusual. Anyway, I don't really want to have another baby right around Linnea's birthday, you know? But then again, I don't want to have a Thanksgiving or Christmas birthday, either... That's probably dumb, I know. And who's to say the FET will work the first time? It may take several tries... Then there's the question of whether I go back to work at the end of my leave of absence (Sept 1). If I'm pregnant obviously it doesn't make sense, since I'd want to take off 6 mos at a minimum again. And if I'm not prego I might be soon thereafter, and that doesn't seem fair to my job. So the timing is up in the air... As well as the fundamental question of going for #2 or not. I guess it comes down to this: I know we will never regret having a second child because once he/she is here that will become our new reality and we'll cherish every moment BUT we might regret not having a second child down the road. So it seems logical to go for it. I just wish we were 25 and independently wealthy, eh?! Boy, that'd make everything easier! I hope everyone is doing well! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
