Oh Am! That's really wonderful news...I know with your history it is scary, but you all know what to look for this time and it will be fine. Were you on a medicated cycle when you got your BFP or are these wonderful twins from a natural IUI cycle? Of course, your beta numbers were always so high, I guess this isn't too surprising...too cool!!! I'm so thrilled for you and DH!

Congrats Amzippity: That is great. At least the Drs know what to look for in your situation so that you can have a healthy pregnancy. I will keep you in my prayers.

Daney, you will do ok. You already know the answer. Now you can be a worrywort like me and be waiting on the results of your 2cd Beta Test LOL.

Have I mentioned I am terrified of 2cd Beta results

I went for blood work this am, and I am sooo nervous that they are going to tell me something I don't want to hear. Hopefully I will not be like this the entire pregnancy.

Congrats Am on the twins. I had my ultrasound today too. I still have 2 sacs but one is still a little bit smalller than the other. The larger one has a heartbeat and the smaller one doesn't. We will not know about the second baby until my repeat ultrasound in 2 weeks. My doctor says it can grow and catch up or it can stop growing. I'm very happy either way to see one little heartbeat.
I hope everyone else is doing well.

Leslie ~ I really hope your other little one catches up, and how wonderful to see a heartbeat though! I'll get to have my first u/s next Friday (I think I can hold on for another week and a half)...I'm so nervous...I will feel so much better when I see that little flutter Is is possible for one to implant later than the other?

Daney ~ you've got a doubling time of 32 hours! That's wonderful news. I know how stressful it can be waiting for that number to come back. Are you on progesterone supplements? 31 is fantastic!

Okay, my doc said I can go again tomorrow to do another beta...she's probably rolling her eyes, but I want to know. My symptoms are persisting, so I'm sure I'm fine. I woke up starving at 3:30 this morning, but I was able to drink a little water by my bed and that was fine (I really didn't want to force saltines down my throat again). And I got up twice to go to the bathroom...arrgghh...it is starting all ready? My "Expecting" book says to eat something just before bed to help with the middle of the night starving thing. It is so strange...we're taught not to eat right before bed, and now we're encouraged to do it? Weird. I want to find a recipe for some low sugar, high fiber cookies to eat before bed...something that will be filling and yummy and that won't make me feel guilty. Any ideas ladies?

Melissa - good luck on your 3rd beta, I hope it's a fantastic number!! And don't worry about your RE getting annoyed, you have every right to insist on another one!!

Daney- congrats!! That's a wonderful number!! You are going to be a mommy!!

LeslieR- I hope your other little bean catches up!!

Mrssega - I know just what you mean. With each blood test, u/s, and appointment I just worry myself silly!! I too hope it's not like this throughout my entire pregnancy, but I think it will be at least for a while. Good luck!!

Beta went up

Nurse just called. Beta went up to 703 .
Now I feel pregnant LOL. U/S scheduled in two weeks. So I am thinking I need to find me a OBGYN at this point correct? I am not even sure where to start. I recently moved to NC. Have an idea of which hospital I want to go with, but I am not sure how I will select my Dr. Any suggestions on how people selected their OBGYN?

Congrats on the twins! How exciting! I would like to go for another beta too cause I'm not too thrilled with the first 2 numbers. I may just have to wait till my US next Wednesday.

Congrats on the great beta numbers mrssega and daney!

On choosing an OB...try to get a referral from your RE or talk to anyone you know in the area who works with the doctors. Rennae works in labor and delivery too...We know that not all obs are created equally, so just try to ask around. My RE does a lot of referrals to certain doctors. Also, I don't know if you have this where you live, but we have a local moms website. They are always talking about which doctors are the better ones to go to on there. Find out if your town has anything like that.
